Dr Khansari is a fantastic periodontist. He did my implants a couple years ago. They look and feel great! He also has a great hygienist name Mona that I would highly recommend. She actually sings to you while she's cleaning your teeth. It's a great distraction time you're not thinking about the cleaning process. read more

I never write reviews. BUT, I am making an exception in the case of Dr. Khansari. He recently extracted both a molar and a decayed impacted wisdom tooth which I have been the proud owner of for many decades. In the past I have had a very unpleasant experiences with Wisdom Teeth. The procedure went smoothly and as described. Upon the follow up visit he complemented me on how well I had healed. I SUGGESTED that it may well have been his treatment. The man is a gentleman, attentive, caring. His approach to dentistry is very conservative which I have found very reassuring. His office is extremely modern and immaculate. His staff meet his high standards . ONCE AGAIN I NORMALLY DO NOT RECOMMEND PROFESSIONALS IN THE MEDICAL PROFESSION. But this DOC is a WINNER. read more

Dr. Khansari is extremely professional, kind, caring and most of all - he does excellent work! I was referred to him by my dentist and, although I was very apprehensive about my procedure, he thoroughly explained the process and answered all my questions during my initial consultation and every step during my follow-up care. My oral surgery included both bone and tissue grafting (under anesthesia). I had several follow-up appointments (never waiting more than 5 minutes). The results of my augmentation were amazing - healthy new gum tissue! I would highly recommend Dr Khansari to my friends, neighbors and family. His entire staff goes above and beyond to make you feel at ease during the entire process! As for the person who wrote the review complaining about being charged a copay - isn't that something you should know (based on your particular plan) before you schedule a visit with a specialist? I used to drive in from Ramona to see Dr. Khansari for my routine cleanings. Why here? Because just about any other place, I went to in SD, tried to refer me and sell me a bunch of unneeded work. Most of them would even refuse to do a cleaning unless the other work was done. I came here because of the reviews and thought it was time to write one of my own. During my initial consultation regarding a tooth extraction, bone graph, and implant with Dr. Alierza Khansari, he was very professional, personable, and informative - visually showing me what was going to happen and answering all my questions. This made me feel confident that I could trust him to handle this procedure. During the actual tooth extraction and placing bone graft, Dr. Khansari again was very professional, efficient and very caring of how I was doing during the procedure. When I had a little pain he took immediate action in alleviating my discomfort. He and his assistant worked well together to expedite the procedure. Today I had the screw placed in the bone for the crown. I was happily surprised that this portion of the implant procedure was handled so efficiently by Dr. Khansari and his team that when I went out for my wife to take me home she said "You already finished?" I found Dr. Khansari through a friend of a friend. He was worth the drive. The travel time (door to door) to his office isn't much more than Ximed. His prices are fair and the staff are great. I was referred to Dr. Khansari by my primary dentist. Both him and his staff were top notch and made me feel comfortable and at ease with what I needed to get done. If i could, i would give Dr. Khansari more than 5 stars. When i went to the office for my second visit, the receptionist greeted me like i was a long time patient of the office. No one enjoys having periodontal work done, but Dr. Khansari and his staff were the very best. I had gum recission and needed surgery. Dr. Khansari used tissue grafts in four locations and the end results are amazing. There is no evidence I ever had gum recession. I can truly say that I am so glad to have come to Mr. Khansari to have a tooth extracted. Little did I know that the tooth was in good enough condition for it to be saved by performing a root canal. The best thing about this is the fact that he does not perform this specific service though was kind enough to refer me to a colleague that does. On top of that, he went out of his way to reach out to another specialist in the building that happened to be in during this unfortunate Covid-19 time that we are all experiencing. The other specialist came in and also offered his expert advise regarding saving the tooth. Being a small business owner myself makes this great experience even better knowing that not everyone is looking to make a buck but to help people with the best solutions for their problem. This is the most incompetent office I've ever been to! You pay your copay they are to bill your insurance with proper documentation and why procedure needed to get insurance payment. All to find out they don't have a clue how to do this! It gets denied and they want you to pay?? So either Dr Khansari did an unnecessary surgical procedure? (Which my insurance said is the reason they're not covering it ) Or he has incompetent staff working for him? Either way why, should I be paying for a unnecessary procedure or his incompetent staff??? Do yourself and your pocketbook a favor and find an office that knows what they are doing! I have been going to Dr. Khansari for quite a few years now and the most recent is just as friendly as the first time we met. He and his selected staff are truly special people that interacts with the public on an exceptional level. They make you feel as part of their family and is comforting when it comes down to a dental/periodontal experience. They are very cautious and caring in their practice whether it's Dr. Khansari, himself, or the Dental Hygienist performing "teeth cleaning" appointment. I highly recommend this office. I was referred to Dr. Khansari because I broke a tooth and needed an implant. The process required several visits over the period of about 6 months, but every time I arrived at the office Renee greeted me with a smile and I waited no more than 5 minutes--often did not wait at all--before I was seen. There were actually a couple of times Renee called to let me know the prior appointment was done early, so I could come early if I desired--refreshing in a world that seems to be moving more and more toward double-booking appointments! Dr Khansari and his assistant/hygienist Janet are efficient, professional, and kind. They showed me an informative video about the implant process and were patient with my questions afterward (I was having flashbacks to my undergrad days as a Bio major so I had quite a few questions!). Implants are expensive so had to pay quite a bit even after insurance, and they were flexible with my requested payment schedule. Their office is super clean and modern...if not for the anesthesia and drilling required by dentistry, you might think you were at a spa! Dental visits are never fun, but Dr Khansari and his staff offer such excellent customer service and periodontology to ensure their customers are satisfied and well taken care of. read more

I had gum recession since I was 28 and my gum condition was getting worse. I was referred by my dentist to Dr. Khansari for gum graft evaluation. My dentist actually mentioned that he will send his family member to him to get the procedure done because he is the best in this area. Based on my personal experience, all I can say is this man is a master at his profession although he is relatively young! And knowing I'm an anxious patient and I had sedation, but still I was even nervous about getting an IV. I didn't feel anything till I woke up after the surgery. While I was out, he drew my blood to use my own growth factors to enhance the gum graft result and speed up the healing, I felt minimal pain, but No swelling No bruising!!!! After the surgery, I was sent home with complete post-op care package and called me same night to check on me. Dr. Khansari is extremely professional as evident by his attention to detail. Having been to another doctor who said a gum graft couldn't be done, and then having an amazing experience with Dr. Khansari doing my gum graft ...speaks volumes about the true value of a skillful medical procedure, and peace of mind with the best there is at what he does. I've had two gum grafts with Dr. Khansari, and for me, there is no one else. Today I am three months out from the gum grafting surgery that Dr. Khansari performed on my front teeth. I am completely blown away at the result already. The appearance of my gums now, after the surgery is perfect; what a relief--I couldn't be happier. I am so thankful to Dr. Khansari for making something I was initially nervous about a total success. Thanks go out to my dentist too for referring him. I am so happy. read more

I was recently referred to Dr Khansari's office for an evaluation. This was my very first visit with a periodontist, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I was very apprehensive, due to a recent negative encounter with a former general dentist. My expectations were definitely more on the negative side. But, I'm happy to say I was wrong. The front office staff set the tone with their very warm and friendly demeanor, as did the back office person. She was just as friendly, and made me feel very comfortable. I was asked questions, by her and the doctor, and both waited patiently for my responses. I never once felt rushed. Dr. Khansari made small talk which put me at ease. He took his time with the examination and evaluation, and explained a procedure that could help with a loose tooth. He said it would also help the surrounding teeth as well. I was previously told that my only solution was extraction, so when he told me he could save the tooth, I wondered at what cost. And again, to my surprise, it was less than what I expected. While it's not inexpensive, it is doable. read more
