For a place that specializes in cookies, you'd expect that fresh-out-of-the-oven warmth, but instead, they offer a microwave to heat them up yourself. While it's a decent option, it's just not the same as biting into a warm, gooey cookie straight from the oven. The selection isn't huge, but the cookies they do have are well-made and taste great--even after a quick microwave session. The flavors are rich, and the texture holds up surprisingly well. Even though this place is practically around the corner, it wasn't on my radar. Oddly enough, it took an Uber driver to tell me that his favorite cookie place was nearby. It's been a few weeks, but I finally had a chance to try Ali's cookies. And ... oooooh weeeee. YUM!!!!! It was a tough decision, but we narrowed it down to 7 cookies. They were all a-maz-ing. Yea, they're a little spendy, but so worth the calories. I wish I had a picture to share, but they didn't last that long. We tried: peach state, apple pie, turtle, Washington, mr house, s'mores, and ginger snap. Hands down, the turtle was my favorite. Second was the Washington and third the ginger snap. I imagine, you're gonna have to try a bunch and figure out your own favs too. On a side note - if you want to save a buck. They have a shelf of day-old cookies that are 1/2 off. This is long overdue. I've been getting cookies from Ali's for many years. They're always just right - the perfect flavor, texture, and size. Today I walked in and it just smelled like "holiday baking." I had to get a ginger snap! I also got m&m and my usual (smores) for the adults and 2 pieces of cookie cake for the littles. It was my first time getting gingersnap and I really wish I had gotten 2. I had to share it with my boyfriend because it was so good! My boyfriend agrees that it is perfection, so at least it wasn't wasted on him. I also love that this is a local, minority-owned (Jewish) business. read more

I got a mail order cookie cake for a birthday, and it was wonderful! I'm not usually a fan of cookie cakes, but this one was perfectly baked, soft but not soggy or oily, and even the icing and decorations are delicious, which tends to not be the case at other places. I got a custom cake with a photo, and it looked great! It took two days to ship and was still in excellent condition when it arrived, despite some substantial manhandling by the post office and my apartment's concierge. They do a great job of shrink wrapping and packing it, so it can take a lot of abuse on the way. The main downside for me was the cost. I got a 12" photo chocolate chip cookie, and with the extra summer fee, and shipping, it ended up being $58.40. For that price, I could have gotten a really nice regular cake locally, but since the birthday boy specifically wanted a cookie cake, I felt like it was worth the cost to get a really nice looking and tasty one. I will definitely order from here again if I want another cookie cake. read more

Red velvet cookie, pecan praline, Georgia peach, George Washington revenge, white chocolate macadamia nut, double chocolate, german chocolate-- just a small sampler. all are yum yum yum! 2. CAKE in a jar: what a friggin clever idea. Eat cake anywhere on the go (it even comes with a cute fork!) or SHIP it someone to let them know you care. 3. ICING Shooters. yup. a shot of decadent icing. Forget 5 hour energy drinks- this is way better 4. We decided to order a custom cookie cake for our son's birthday this year and chose Ali's based on the glowing reviews. I don't know if were just the anomaly or had a bad batch, but the cookie cake was probably the worst one I've ever had. The decorations looked great on it but the taste was just not cutting it. The primary driver behind the poor tasting cookie was the dryness. I'm used to cookie cakes being very moist but this one almost had the texture of biting into a dry piece of cornbread. To further demonstrate the poor performance of the cookie cake, my 3 children (all 12 and under) would not even eat it. If a kid isn't eating a chocolate chip cookie with icing all over it, then you know something is up. Maybe we just had a bad day or a bad batch or something was missed when they mixed the batter? I wish them luck in their business but there needs to be a better quality control process established. read more

So I have been going to the Ali's Cookies at Perimeter for about 4 years, even though East Cobb is close to my house. Since Covid-19 has us on lock down, I decided to try the East Cobb location and buy cookies for the whole weekend. I couldn't be more disappointed. Like other reviewers have said, their cookies look and taste old. They were over cooked and too "brown". Almost half way to burned, for some of them. I usually can't resist these cookies, but this time I had to give away all that I bought. Which I NEVER do. If this had been my first time trying Ali's I would never be a repeat customer. But since I KNOW that Ali's cookies are the best ever, I will remain a customer, just never to East Cobb location again. Who is in there baking these stale hard cookies? I mean come on. Yum! Passed by here and I'm glad we picked up a bunch of cookies to go. They were all tender, large, and flavorful. Lots of different flavors to choose from, but the absolute BEST were the sugar m&m and snickerdoodle (my sister also says the chocolate chip pecan, but I can't stand nuts in cookies, so I'll take her word for it). The girl behind the counter was very sweet and patient. Only reason it wasn't 5/5 was price - it was over $24 for 14 cookies (and that was with 2 free cookies when you buy 12). I'm so disappointed in this particular Ali's cookies shop. I've only ever been to the one in perimeter area and my experience there was always the best they have a variety of cookies and they all look delicious I felt the exact opposite at this one on johnson's ferry. They workers looked annoyed and their display case for the cookies where half empty at noon! The cookie I brought for my kid tasted old. Will not be returning to this location. I updated my old review because the manager Jeff did everything in his power to make sure my experience would be the best at all three stores. read more

It would be impossible to beat these cookies. For real. They are amazing!!! The cookie cakes aren't even on the same planet as most. They are out of this world. These are the cakes you've seen at tons of kids parties with the chocolate letters that sit on little puffs of icing. You know what I'm talking about? We have gotten cookies here a few times and they are delicious. The cookies are the cooked with moistness inside. They serve the regular varieties of cookies, including a few interesting combination. The place is in a strip of shops with just the word Cookies above it. Inside it is a small shop with the cookies lined up in display cases. They do a baker's dozen and half dozen, so you get a little extra when you order those amounts. read more

I whole-heartedly believe that these are the best cookies to have ever passed my lips. They're moist, but not too soft, they have the perfect texture. They're delicious. I drive all the way from East Atlanta to East Cobb just to get a box. That's over 20 miles. They are a little pricey, but honestly, I would pay more! The money is worth. I basically googled that and found Ali's Cookies. Good product description, decent prices, and they had what I was looking for, an 18" Cookie Cake. I called them up and an actual person immediately picked up the phone. When does that happen nowadays. I asked about shipping and she told me exactly when I should place my order. Well Tuesday I placed my order, Friday it arrived, and Saturday was the party. The cookie was a hit! It was super soft, moist, and most importantly tasted and looked amazing. Lots of frosting, lots of little chocolate lettering and balloons. The cake was gobbled up and I'm still eating leftovers now, wishing I had more. So I was in the mood for something sweet and did a search for cookies in the area, and up popped Ali's Cookies... Well off I went to check them out. They were easy to find on Johnson Ferry and I was hopeful that I'd find some good cookies... Well I walk in and I'm instantly greeted. So this is my first time in so I ask, "What's you're most popular flavor?" "Everything" she says... Well I chuckle and continue looking at the cookies in the case, I'm sure every single cookie in the shop doesn't sell the same amount so it would've been helpful if she'd said, the chocolate chip was the most popular or the sugar cookie or something... So after walking around a little bit and asking a few questions, I decide to get a half dozen, because I wanted to sample a few things. I wound up getting the chocolate chip, the double choc fudge, peanut butter, Georgia peach,an apple cookie, m&m, and I ended up with an extra choice the white chocolate macadamia. After leaving with my cookies, I headed home and couldn't stop myself from trying one in the car and my lucky choice was the m&m cookie and even though it had a ton of m&ms in it, I enjoyed it. Later on in the day I decided to try the peanut butter cookie and it was good as well, it just had a bit too much plain sugar on top, so I brushed some off. Since I was on a cookie roll I tried the Georgia peach and apple cookie next and was rather disappointed. I couldn't taste fruit in either cookie. I practically dissected each cookie and pulled out the dried fruit pieces and still couldn't taste anything. Not sure if it was just the ones I had that day, but not high on my list to try those again. So I finished sampling my cookies and enjoyed the chocolate chip and the white chocolate macadamia one, the double fudge (meh). Today I was craving a chocolate chip cookie and tried the house specialty (choc chip w oatmeal) and toffee crunch. They were both delicious and moist with lightly crunchy edges. didn't go to this Ali's Cookies but I called them with questions about the cookies my roommate and I received in the mail. They were very nice and knowledgeable about their products- however, the cookies weren't as nice unfortunately. They were very Jewish (super kosher) and only like half of the delicious dozen were worth eating, in my opinion. I'd recommend the mint chocolate chip, the pumpkin spice, the original oatmeal, and the turtle chocolate chip. The rest were superbly subpar. A family member told me about this great little cookie shop they'd stumbled across when moving to the area. She said that the first time she'd had these cookies, her mother was coming over with some friends and they didn't have anything in the house (not even furniture!). After having gotten something for the ladies to sit on, she had stumbled across Ali's. Needless to say, all the cookies were consumed by these little old ladies with excited grins on their faces. Whilst I was visiting my family in Marietta, GA, about a month ago, I was told of this story and advised that I should get a couple of cookies just to give them a go. Now I was supposed to be on a diet, but I thought "What could one cookie store do to me?"... Well, I have now had to eat my words! From the moment you walk in, you feel a sense of nostalgia from all the baking you Mum/Grandma had baked cookies in the kitchen. The smell is divine, which is nothing in comparison to the actual TASTE of the cookies! With regular flavours to twists on classics, you're sure to find something to drive your tastebuds wild! There's an article at Ali's from the AJC that gives Ali's Cookies credit for helping the Braves turn their season around. In my opinion, they are that good. I'm not saying that Ali's Cookies could solve all of the world's problems or create less strife and division, but I believe the house special chocolate chip cookies are Atlanta's best untapped resource for solving small to medium-sized conflicts and quarrels. Fence disputes between neighbors, marital/ significant other-related discord, parent-teen battles, and workplace skirmishes can find reprieve in sharing a moment centered around these sweet, chewy morsels of gooey chocolate goodness. Attorneys that I know would bill a great many less hours if one side or the other would bring a batch of these amazing confectionery masterpieces to tense negotiations. Think about it...have you ever seen people angry, sad, or distraught while sharing chocolate chip cookies? Multiply this "cookie effect" by a factor of ten for the otherworldly goodness of Ali's cookies, and this East Cobb gem may very well produce THE catch-all elixir for soothing mild to moderate societal discord in the ATL. Minor complaints-- be there by 5:59 PM Monday-Friday, or the door is locked, the lights are off, and you'll be relegated to "Chewy Chips A' Plenty" from a bag at the grocery store. Longer hours to catch the after-dinner dessert crowd would sure be nice. Also, free coffee with purchase is an awesome perk (no pun intended), but I would pay for a cup of decaf with an afternoon cookie, and decaf is not available. None of the critiques are dealbreakers, and the 6 PM close has saved me from inches on the waistline more than once. Think of all the good that you can do! Spread salve on sore, bumped and bruised egos, and generally get yourself out of the doghouse by sharing this awesome cookie experience with others. It's a cute little place near Bagelicious on Johnson Ferry and is the perfect treat while walking around shopping. I wish I had never discovered this place. Really. I don't have the willpower to simply go in and buy one or two. I end up bringing home multiple dozens (and you get several extras with each dozen too) - and yet somehow there are never any left the next morning. Just amazing stuff. I have mustered a bit of willpower and have not been in recently (but will now that the thought is on my mind). I have tried almost all of them. I can't recall the name - but the apple pie-ish cookies are my favorite so far. It's almost impossible to pick a favorite. Yes, they are expensive - but YES, they are well worth every cent.
