    awesome philly bag
    David L.

I was desperate to find a gift to take my girlfriend's parents when meeting them for the first time. I live in Fairmount but had never stopped in this shop to check it out. A friend told me they had a large selection of locally curated and Philly-based gifts. This place did not disappoint. Their inventory of philly related items was extensive. They have everything from bar accessories, to kitchen tools, to glassware and even a late selection of kids toys. If you are looking for a place to find that unique gift, give Ali's Wagon a try! I wish there were more stores like this on Fairmount Ave. This is exactly the kind of place that gives this neighborhood its flavor!

Really cute gift store. Have bought small gifts and multiple greeting cards here. Staff is super nice. Nice addition to Fairmount Ave.

My favorite store! My go to place for gifts, cards, new pantry items to try, and more.

Ali's Wagon is named in loving tribute to the owners friend, Allison Wenger, who passed before the store opened.

In addition to furniture like cabinets, benches, chairs, and tables, one can find rugs, lights/lanterns, books, statues, busts, and other odds and ends. The space is quite large, and the selection varied. Kudos to the curator as one can spend quite a bit of time combing through all of the many treasures. Pieces can trend toward the more expensive side; however, deals are to be found, and while we were there, there was a 30% off sale. The staff are friendly, and my transaction is quick and efficient. While on site, I purchased several wine bottle snuggies that were styled after Chinese-style clothing. They were $3.50 each--a bargain. They'll come in handy when I take wine or other such bottles to social gatherings in the future. Overall, a great experience. Amex is accepted here.

(Do they really sell those hideous masks to anyone with a real sense of style? Or to anyone at all??) I had the heebeejeebees walking around in there, and I'm not superstitious or flighty, but the place just had a very "heavy" feeling, like a weight was on my shoulders the whole time there. And don't get me started on the prices... overpriced, on purpose, IMHO, for those who think the higher the price, the more precious the item. The only thing precious is the first breath of fresh air you get when leaving this gaudily overdone made in china sham of a store.

When we asked some simple clarification questions he told us he could t work with us anymore, ran away and disappeared, with only a couple months before the wedding leaving us without a ring. The diamond we gave him to use when it came back was clearly substituted with another cheaper one, and our inquiries went unanswered. This is theft, and these folks are un trustworthy and not a professional operation or interested in any kind of respectful and honest customer service. Stay clear of them and work with someone more on the level.

They're also going to be adding some plant life to their selection. Staff was friendly but not too pushy, and even offered me a mimosa while I shopped! Genius business plan. I bought some really cute earrings and I feel like they were discounted because of that drink, that's how that works right? Great place to kill time while you're waiting 45 minutes for Little Spoon/The Cambridge to call your name.
