I'm a regular to Moon + Arrow and I have always had a pleasant experience. It's such a beautiful store with beautiful hand made items. I went there today on Aug 9th at 1:50pm the young lady did not greet me nor did she speak when I spoke. The items I usually buy were out of stock, so I asked her when would the item be restocked all she said was I don't know. Usually the employees would take your contact info, and will be eager to assist. I did not experience that with this employee. read more

I'm going to call it: I think this might be the best place to shop for gifts in the city. They just have so many nice and interesting objects. And the clothing -- such a well curated selection of both new and vintage clothing. And also the things for babies... if you need to buy a gift for a newly formed person, this is the place to do it. Moon + Arrow has so many things that I don't see in other "similar" stores, which tend to stock the same half dozen candle brands, books that should be shelved under "various light reading," and riffs on tea towels. read more

Was in need of a new candle so strolled by here Sunday afternoon and ended up leaving with far more than a candle. The shop is very COVID safe, allowing only six customers inside at a time and a gentle request to use their hand sanitizer upon entry. It's much larger inside than I expected and so easy to social distance. The store also smelled and looked impeccably clean. Now on to the goods. I've never been here so wasn't sure what kind of commodities were offered. There's incense and throw pillows and all natural sex creams, there's organic feminine products and gauzy sweaters and crystal jewelry, there's loose tea leaves and tea balls and lotions and potions. There's even a bougie kids section in the back. After far too long sniffing candles and studying the labels on pricy yet enticing CBD oils and droppers, I snagged: La Tierra Sagrada salt spray for my curly hair, a Fur shave cream, Rosebud CBD bath salts, teakwood and tobacco incense sticks and an adorable accompanying snake incense holder made by Roots & Knots, and of course, a friggin' soy candle, which is what I originally came here for, in a yummy Driftwood scent. We're talkin' some fuckin' DETOX. Almost everything I bought was locally sourced/made and/or all natural/organic. The sales clerk was extremely helpful with my bath salts questions and super friendly. I think I'd like to make this a regular spot for all my #selfcare needs. read more

This is one of those trendy places where you would find current day hippies or dirty backpackers to shop. It has it has a peace love and happiness of the 60s feel to it. I'm all about peace, love and happiness, but not at a 1000% mark up! I find some of the items in the store useful but pricey. The items sold in this store are the same type of items that you would find in any 'urban' neighborhood, on an Avenue and for much less. I would do comparison shopping before making a decision. Don't get fooled with a 'quality ' speech. Stop off at the store look at the items, put the prices in your mental Rolodex then drive to 52nd St. or Germantown Avenue. You will find that you will save money, be treated as a customer and it will be well worth the gas! I walked around the store for approximately 10 minutes without anyone greeting me or saying a word to me. However, I did notice when the two sales people when they were not ringing up items they greeted everyone else. When I asked about a product I was told 'it's a nutrient pack to put in your drink.' The 'cashier ' did not explain its nutritional value, properties or benefits. The 'cashier' just turned away to continue with nothingness, not to help a customer or straighten up. This was more of a reason for me to go out of my way to 52nd St. and purchase incense by the bag of ten for one dollar instead of a dollar per stick. But if you like spending extra money for the trend of it , by all means this place is for you. read more

From the moment you walk in, Moon + Arrow with its neutral decor and well lit interior feels like a breath of fresh air. The owner is incredibly friendly and helpful if you need guidance in finding an item. I love their selection of candles (not inexpensive, but as others have mentioned, fair for the quality of the items) and they make a concerted effort to showcase local, diverse artists through their selection of homewares, jewelry, and clothing. Their children's selection, while small, is also carefully selected and contains some true treasures. read more

My boyfriend and I are moving this month and Moon + Arrow was an amazing find while we were wandering around the area in search of knick-knacks for the apartment. We inquired about the price of a pendant lamp and employee was super helpful. She didn't have the price right then, but she took down our info and texted us later that day with the cost. It was very reasonable! Everything was priced well (it's not cheap, it's just very appropriately priced for the great quality and uniqueness of the pieces) and they had really cool stuff. We're definitely going to return for the pendant and will hopefully pick up a few other things! read more

Overall, I think this is a great little shop to have so close to my house - perfect for whenever I'm looking for the best taste in home smells (candles, incense, essential oils, etc). I always end up wandering through everything while I'm there just to check it all out. Moon and Arrow recently opened in Queen Village, with a very pretty rustic without kitsch kind of vibe. It's hard to categorize, but it's a mixture of some art pieces, lots of cool vintage finds, and some great vintage clothing on the side. It's a nice large space to browse and find something interesting -- kind of if Era Atomica were a lot bigger and broader in scope. It's really quite beautiful, and the window display is very inviting. Definitely worth a stroll inside. The staff were very nice when I was searching for a random thing (a candlestick holder) and so many of the things in there were intriguing, and would probably make great gifts. read more

From a design aspect, this store is pretty freakin' amazing!!! I know that one of the owners used to work for Free People, and it really shows * Note the air plant terrariums and everything SouthWest. However, this boutique is WAY more hip than any Free People corporate-esque store! Seriously, this place needs its own quarterly catalogue. If you are a mid-20s to 40s Johnny Brenda's regular, this will be your Philadelphia Church of Style. You can furnish your apartment with that Aztec-look alpaca wool throw rug, a couple air plants, a massive Amethyst druzy geode door prop, a distressed metal desk, some sage and sweetgrass and, at the same time, pick up some rockin' cowboy boots and a leather hat that would make Wanda Jackson green with envy. All I can say is... The owners of this store should moonlight as interior decorators. I'd hire them to design my bungalow. read more

Just discovered this relatively hidden gem (south of South st for me is an adventure). Disappointed I hadn't been in sooner, but with the holidays around the corner, it worked out just fine. The store has a ton of variety, all of it seemingly if not unique then uncommon. Much of it handmade. I walked in looking for a gift for my sister, but found things for my fiancé, in-laws and friends as well. Lucky them!! The owner is adorable and helpful, yet not doting or pushy like you find in some small local shops. This store feels like walking into Joni Mitchell's living room. It is full of over priced jewelry, clothing and housewares from the 70s with a Native American, hippie, homesteading vibe. As over priced as it may be, it is so damn gorgeous and the people are so damn nice. The woman who runs this place has a great eye and knows how to curate objects and create environments. And, if you want thrift store items that fit this specific aesthetic but don't want to do the digging yourself, it makes sense to pay someone else well to round it all up for you in this store. Hats off to them for weathering the fire at their old store, staying in business, and getting back into their space, which looks so beautiful. read more

I initially visited this place a while ago when it was just a temporary pop-up shop after reading about it on Daily Candy. If you love vintage clothing, simple hand-made jewelry and air plants, you will love visiting this store. Apparently, they were affected by the fire on fabric row, so I believe that they were closed for a while. I think that the space that they are now occupying is a temporary one, but it still looks nice. They have a great selection of vintage clothing and accessories priced pretty decently. I like to visit Vagabond in Old City, and this place reminds me of that store with the absence of all of the new and hand-knit clothing. read more

In Moon & Arrow I have discovered numerous one-of-a-kind accents & functionally artistic objects, everything from a gorgeous antique rocking chair to a pair of salt & pepper shakers fit for a mantle piece. This place is equally "Native American" and "cowboy" all at once, as if a rustic outpost from the desert West has come to life in our midst. It is a remarkable haven for gifts that embody uniqueness, as long as you do not mind extracting your newfound treasure from it's display perch. The space is so well laid out that I could literally spend hours milling about if I had my guitar and a cold beer along for the tour. There is an impeccable zen-like quality to the design & the merchandise featured here which is the antithesis of mass-production. If you are fond of an old chair, a leather bill fold, or a cutting board here, you should bring it home with you because chances are, no one else will have one of the same. This is a nice place. They've done a good job of curating what they sell, and I found some very simple but attractive jewelry here on short notice. Staff was quite helpful. Did not shop for clothing but what they have seems nice, not cheap though. Only suggestion is that they might add just a few other categories / genres in the gifts they sell. Perhaps some very nice toiletries for men or even some writing supplies? Did I miss these? Also, the vibe is just a little precious but these are small quibbles.
