I came here to get gas and a carwash. I noticed that Jimboy Tacos used to be here and is now closed forever. The location is a little hard to drive into unless you are going the favorable way on the street. The bonus is that you get a discount of 20 cent per gallon of gas you buy off the price of a carwash. A perk if you are getting your car washed anyway. The cheapest was is $6 and is probably all anyone needs unless you are into "rain coat" or something. It gave a carwash that was fast and what one could expect from a machine. With the gas I got I paid something like $4.57 for the wash. It is about how much you want to pay and how high of a quality you want. I feel there is a disproportionate increase in car wash price and wash time for quality. With higher end places charging close to 20 dollars and minutes or more for their basic car wash. This places I got a basic car wash for a significant discount and it was fast. I was lucky there was no line. On the con side, I did drive thru, so I notice that it did feel a bit harsh but compared to the car washes I have driven through before I felt it was no more harsh than most others. 2 things I went to this gas station for: car wash and to put air in my tires. For the 1st one, I stopped once I was getting too many scratches on my TLX. For the 2nd one, I got pissed once I found out the tire pressure went down on all 4 tires. The left brush on the wash skipped the rear left side. I showed the result to staff and later after 15 minutes waiting for a manager. I was asked in a very unpleasant way by the rude manager not come again. BELIEVE the negative reviews. First, I think that this Shell Station gets confused in Yelp reviews with another station that is also on Aliso Creek but another 1 mile plus down the road. This review is for the station across the street from the AV Town Center. It does not have, nor ever had, JimBoy Tacos ... that is the other station. Poorly maintained pumps and lack of service. This all has to do with Ricardo. I have NEVER written a review in my life but feel obliged because of the disrespect I was shown. I use this shell regularly because it's close to home and offers a great cheap car wash and vacuum. I also usually buy American Spirit cigarettes as well. Today while using the vacuum I also went it to purchase my cigarettes. He asked for ID and I handed him my passport. He didnt want to touch and asked me to. I opened it . I've been coming here weekly, to get gas and a car wash. The washes have gotten progressively worse. The machine drips water, worse and worse, at the end of the wash, when the dryers are supposed to be doing their job. Well tonight, the brushes completely stopped, halfway down my car, and the top brush never engaged at all. Only the spray was functioning. I went in to mention this, and was told it was because I was in the wrong spot. !!! The wash, has lights and an audible alarm, telling you when you're in the correct place, and to stop. Pretty straightforward. Been doing it weekly; as I mentioned to the clerk; and never had a problem finding the "spot". However, instead of just telling me to go back through, and that doesn't usually happen, he proceeded to basically tell me I was an idiot, and didn't know where to stop. I mentioned that it's probably not a good idea, to tell a customer who frequents your business weekly, and spends a great deal of money, that they're an idiot, and I asked for the contact info for the owner. Ricardo the clerk, refused to give me any information, and pointed to the phone number on the window, while informing me it wouldn't do any good to call it now, because he would be answering. Keep in mind, I just filled up, and purchased the top wash, as I do at least once a week. Even so, no offer to make good on it, even after Ricardo looked at my clearly still dirty car. Worst customer service EVER! If I treated my customers that way, I wouldn't have any! Thank heavens, I'm actually intelligent enough to know that I'm offering a service, and how I talk to my clients, matters. I'll be sharing my treatment, with everyone I know. Horrible car wash and customer service! Paid for the platinum car wash, waited 30 minutes in line, entered the code and the screen said pull forward when ready. There was a car being washed in front of us. Waited our turn. The light never turned green. Tried to enter the code again and it wouldn't work. We waited a half an hour in that line! I was so upset. Went to speak to the lady inside and she refused to give us a refund. She kept telling us she was giving us a free car wash. Car Wash is terrible! Water used was not effectively treated to remove calcium, and blower was not adequate for removing water droplets, therefore my black car was left covered with white spots from residual hard water. I literally pumped gas bought the best most expensive car wash , and the car was just out of the shop looking new . She is a Latina like me but kept arguing with me that those were not caused by the car wash . I submitted the claim report for her . She would not copy the report for my own records and she was very disrespectful . I make at least $75-$100 an hour with my business this was a complete waste of my time , energy and they just called me back . The guy that called me back said they inspected their machine and they found it to be not at fault ! Lol! They do damage and they clear them selves of the damage . My husband went to get gas this past Sunday. Afterwards, he went inside to buy my daughter a lemonade. He grabbed a bottle from the top shelf in the refrigerator. There is a metal plate running along the top of the door. My husband's arm came in contact with the plate. My husband was electrocuted. He dropped the bottle. When he recovered, he told the cashier what happened. The cashier apologized, and gave my husband a free Car Wash! WTH? Tuesday, I called and asked for the Corporate number. The lady hesitated. I then asked for the Regional number... she hemmed and hawed. I then asked for the Store Managers Number, that she provided. I called and explained to the Manager what happened. Got the green light and pulled slowly forward looking for the red light. The red light NEVER came on, so I stopped my car where I thought I should, the machine started, but stalled! Waited patiently for it to start again. It never did, however the worker came over to my car and told me that I need to get in back of the LONG line again, because I didn't stop at the right spot. The manager here is Gloria. It is practically impossible to get her name or contact number with a question or concern. Jeremy has refused my request for Gloria's contact information three times. I don't understand why, when he works, there is a sign that says the bathroom is out of service when it is not. This is my where I get my gas, almost exclusively. No one else has had a sign that says I can't use the restroom when I am there. Today, I started by asking him why there is an "out of service" sign in front of the restroom when the restroom works. He said it's because of graffiti. In all my years of going to this gas station, I have never once seen graffiti in the restroom. When I asked him if I could have the manager's information, he refused over and over to give it to me. Instead he continued to argue until another customer came over and said, "He's not who's making the rules; it's the manager." When I agreed with her and acknowledged she was correct and followed up with the fact that he won't give me that contact information, the customer said, "Give her the manager's name!" He said, "Gloria. Gloria is her name." I thanked him and walked out as he continued to argue and speak poorly of me as I walked to my car outside the open front door. GLORIA!! I love this Shell station. For one, it has one of the best self service car washes around. Also, you can use your Ralph's rewards points to lower the gas price by 20 cents a gallon. If you buy a car wash you lower it another 20 cents a gallon. So you can save 40 cents a gallon when you get a car wash here! It puts your gas prices competitive with anyone and usually beats them all! I come here often. read more

What I like about this Shell is accessibility of the pumps. Since they're single pumps per station you can just drive in or wait when the other person is finished making it easy for everyone to come and go. The service here is always friendly and quick and there's Jimboy's Tacos attached to the gas station if you want some real food while you're there. The only downside I can think of is the prices here are usually on the high end since there isn't another gas station for a couple of blocks. read more

I have come here many times for car washes and today I got stuck inside. I don't think I did anything wrong. After the washing part I didn't see a red or green light so I waited and waited and couldn't move my car forward. I called the gas station and a lady came out to get me out of there and she was so RUDE! even if I had done something wrong she didn't need to treat me like that.
