The salon is super cute and cozy and Brianna is amazing!! I just get the gel polish on my natural nail, no tips. My nails are perfectly shaped, the polish didn't chip and I went almost 3 weeks before I went back, plus I work in a place that is hard on my hands and my nails hold up without the polish lifting, chipping or coming off. I love this place. I know I swore up and down that sparkle nail bar in Elk Grove is the best and they still are. But I think this place keeps up with newer products .. I go to Ashley and she's great. I usually show her pictures of what I want and she replicates it perfectly if not better. It's in downtown Merced I believe. I don't live here so I'm not sure what's around in Merced. But I drive the hour and 20 mins to get my nails done. The building looks old. But inside it's actually very stylish. Each nail tech has their own unique style to their desk. I think there's 7. Two pedicure stations and it's also a hair salon. I recently got my nails done, and I've gotten matte nail polish before but Ashley used a powder and it's amazing. Had to make a last minute manicure appointment and they were able to get me in which is really the only redeeming quality I have for this place. Salon was dirty, my nail painter's station was dirty and she didn't even bother to clean it. I say nail painter because she doesn't give a manicure, she just paints nails. Now I don't know if that's just her, but we all know how important a good manicure is to get gels in your fingers. Needless to say they peeled after 1 week. I was meaning to try this place out for a long time after finding them on Insatgram, and I was really excited to finally go! I called on a Monday to make an appointment for my friend and me, but I couldn't get through. We decided to stop by and make an appointment in person since we were near by. When we went inside we were greated by a friendly lady who asked how she could help us. We told her we wanted to make an appointment, and she asked us what day we were looking for; we told her early Thursday morning. She tried to see if anyone was available, but they were out to lunch, so she took down our numbers and said they'd give us a call when they were back. I swear I spent all day looking at my phone waiting for their call, and I was kind of bummed because I thought they weren't going to call back! But the next day I got a call! (I'll admitt I was very happy!) So we finally went in on Thursday, and again we were greated by a friendly lady (I think she was the owner). Our appointments were at 9am, and we waited for a few minutes before the girls who were going to do our nails got there, but I mean it was ok, 9am is a little early. The atmosphere in the nails salon was great! They played music, the nail techs talked to one another, and they even included us in their conversations! It was a very comfortable experience. It was great to see that everyone got along so well and they were all super nice! My friend got gel nails and they looked super cute! I got a full set of acrylics, and I was super pleased with them! I got my nails done by Bri (I think that's how you spell it). She was so nice! I told her I usually only get one color but I wanted to try something new, maybe different colors, or glitter with a little bling. She showed me colors that would go well with the color I chose, and we went from there. She asked what shape I wanted, and I told her I wanted squared. I was afraid to get the flared shape, but she assured me they wouldn't be to flared if I wanted to try them. I thought "oh what the heck, go big or go home!" So I decided to get flared nails! She did an amazing job! My nails were short, just how I like them, and had just enough bling! I would recommend this place to anyone! The nail techs here are very skilled in what they do. When I went Mezzie did my nails. She was very skilled and took her time, I was very satisfied with my nails, if it were just for nails I would give them five stars. However, since I am writing this review on the whole experience I have to give them a two. When I first tried making an appointment it was very wishy washy. I first had to contact Alison who then had to contact her team to see if anyone was available and she kept changing the time of appointment and ignoring my texts. After finally setting up the meeting I went in and everything was great, until a couple weeks later when my nail broke. I was very upset and contacted Mezzie right away to see if she had time to fix it. She replied swiftly and told me I had to wait until the nail healed. When the nail healed I told her again and she ignored my text. After a couple days I asked again, and once again I was left with no reply. I assumed that she had not seen my message, but to my surprise she was posting on her social media all her openings for the week. They are very unreliable and despite how much I enjoyed their services I do not like to have to nag for something I'm paying for. read more

I came on time to my apt, and drove an hour to see her, i had to wait 30 min because she was doing another woman's nails and chit chatting. I was annoyed but thought to myself "she seems nice & like she's fun to talk to". Lol my first impression was wrong. She was kinda rude. I'd try to make small talk and she wouldn't respond, or gave one wondered response, kinda made me feel like i was annoying her. Also, she would stop doing my nails to post on Instagram/ Snapchat or even have me hold her phone to take videos. I understand social media is a huge platform for her business but thought it was rude and unprofessional to ask a new client to video her. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. Made an appointment at the beginning of the day intending to go in and get a full set, and when I went in I was told by the nail tech that she "didn't have time" for what I wanted. She apparently assumed when I called that I only wanted a fill, when I was never even asked what I wanted. If you're going to allow someone to make an appointment, then you should make sure you know what they want. Not that I was even asking for anything outrageous, as I had another shop in Merced put poorly done nails on me and I wanted them quickly removed and replaced with a new set. Overall terrible customer service, and I will never consider trying to get my nails done there again as I made an appointment, showed up, and she wouldn't even take me for what I needed! read more

When you ask for a gel manicure, it's assumed you get a regular manicure first then the gel polish. Nothing crazy out of the ordinary. However, when I asked for a gel manicure they didn't Insist on telling it's solely a polish change and no manicure. At first I was slightly annoyed and didn't want to continue, but I thought it'll be fine and I'll just get the polish and it'll still be nice. LOL JOKES! Mara, the woman who did my nails cannot do gel well at all! In fact it was so terrible I had to go get it redone once I left. Yeah I wasted 20$ but it was worth it, that gel polish was terrible! Advice: if you do decide to go to this salon, stick with acrylic. Just a fair warning they do NOT do manicures unless stated and they have a specific person only for that. I started going to the salon a couple years ago &I have to admit I was nervous at first because the salon is known for doing great work, but I always liked the natural simple look, whether it was gel or acrylic. So when I was recommended to go to Mara, I thought I would give it a shot. She's amazing! I switch between gel and acrylic every few months, but she always does a great job &makes sure I leave loving my nails. For the summer, I recently got gel toes &I love them. I had my nails done by Alison and by far the worst and most expensive manicure I've ever had. She didn't even clean up the excess paint on my fingers. And they turned out a mess. I wanted 1/2 black matte and 1/2 shiny black but the only thing she did differently was put a clear coat on the shiny part... I absolutely LOVE this nail salon. The owner is down to earth, amazing personality and is super creative. She can literally design your nails based off of your favorite team,jewelry, color or favorite shoe! I am not playing. I have been coming to this salon for my hair and nails since I was 16 years old with my mother, and now my 3 year old daughter will not step foot in any other nail salon except this one. Yes, I said my 3year old daughter lol. She has sat next to me while getting my nails done here since a newborn and has had her first manicure here.
