In Merced for a church service and needed my gel nails redone. Many of the salons I found out were not open on weekends- this was a Big surprise because all of them are open in Southern Cal! Rose was and told me to come now and they could service me. Well right now apparently didn't mean I would be done immediately; unless others popped in during the 10 min it took me to get there. So my Mother in love and I waited about 40 min and then I was called. I found out that she was going to be done by the same technician so she had to wait until I was finished. The nail care and polish process were different than I was used to. For one thing she never soaked my hands or asked me to wash them. She did put cuticle softener on them and sprayed them with water. I went in on 02/12 to get a removal of my acrylics and ended up getting a gel manicure as well. The older man that was assisting me was using the drill and drilled into my finger and made me bleed. I had a piece of skin dangling off so I told him to just cut it off for now because it hurt so bad. It hurt so bad I was tearing up. He charged me 55$ and when I told the lady at the register she only charged me 50$ because of it. I don't think that's right. Today is the next day and hurts to the touch, hurts when water touches it even . read more

I paid $90 plus tip for a regular "spa pedicure" and a manicure with acrylic. My pedicure was fine - definitely not the best or worst I've experienced. The "manicure" was by far the worst I've experienced in my life, and I've been getting manicures for over 20 years. Acrylic application was rushed and messy and the tech didn't bother to clean out the excess acrylic from under my nails. To my surprise she never had me wash my hands afterwards and never cleaned them off, outside of a quick brush with the powder brush. She didn't apply any sort of lotion, so I left the appointment with ashy, rough and powdery cuticles with hard acrylic under my fingernails. To make matters worse, she was putting electric file tips in a jar after using them and pulling "new" ones out of the same jar. I never saw her clean them or use clean/new nail files or buffing pads. Now I have a sore on my thumb cuticle (pictured). I see I'm not the first person to notice this and have an issue. I will never be back and I hope they get inspected to prevent further clients from having the same issues. read more

Usually I make appointments for pedicures and don't have to wait to start my service. The technicians are fast and professional they know what they're doing. I haven't had any issues here when it comes to cleanliness. I've never gotten any infections or had any issues after getting a pedicure here. Prices are reasonable. read more

For normal nails, never had an issue and my acrylics last a long time :) great there. However for pedicures I don't think their equipment is ever cleaned. The lady was a little too thorough and cut my toe...it bled and She apologized and when I got home I did some Epsom salt soaks and ointments on it for a few days only for the infection to get worse. I had to go get oral antibiotics for my toe blowing up. And now that I'm off those it's coming back, so I may need another round or different antibiotic. How could the tool have been so unsanitary to the point that I need two rounds? :( read more

Terrible... after being a repeat customer for 5+ years I was asked to never return. Yes I'm aware there is new ownership, I've still be in every 2-3 weeks for manis and pedis. Went in with the attached photo as a reference for my sisters wedding. Dina started doing my nails after seeing it no questions. When she said she was done I politely asked where the ombré was, she started yelling saying she couldn't do it and I said that I wish she had told me before and she told me I was taking advantage that she had worked on my nails for a long time. I asked for a discount as I would have to have them redone for the wedding and she started yelling with another worker and told me to never come back. When I was staying in California, I needed a place to get my eyebrows done. Most required appointments in Merced and were fully booked. However, Rose Nails was a walk in place and I was able to get them done after waiting about ~10 minutes. The technician did a pretty good job with them after I told her how I wanted them. They could have been trimmed a little more but overall it was a good experience. read more

These are bad people. The debit card machine was down and they didn't let customers know this as they walk in. The lady who did my pedicure told me halfway through and said I could pay by Venmo, but I guess the owner had other plans and told me to go to the ATM waving her hand. I observed customers ahead of me allowed to pay with Venmo. My coworker happened to be there and she was also allowed to pay electronically. Guess my Venmo was not good enough. I will take my Venmo and my cash elsewhere. read more

Worst experience of my life! Never have I went to a nail salon where they treated me this way! First they were doing acrylic on my toenail and I asked them to do it a little longer she aggressively rubbed off the acrylic hurting me damn near yanking my toenail off and then in the middle of doing my nail she got up and left all the other ladies just finished and started in someone else's nails left me their waiting for more than 30 mins and I still walked out with an unfinished pedicure and my acrylic was so thick I had to go elsewhere to get it fixed ! Needed gel manicure and regular pedicure in a time crunch. Went in on a Friday around 12:15pm. Got seated within minutes. It was quite busy too. Pedicure was quick because I asked for basic package. Still did a good job. Gel manicure came out nice. Staff was nice. Will go again. read more

Would NEVER recommend this place to ANYONE. Not even my worst enemy. Had a terrible experience. I only went here because my nail broke while visiting my bf's family & I would not be going back home to Sacramento for a few days. I refused to go around like that. So I decided to take a chance and get my mail fixed. I called in first and was greeted by a friendly man who said to come in after 12. I came in around 230. I also asked to get my niece's nails done. They had us sitting for about 15 minutes which was totally fine. They finally brought me to the station and looked at my nails on disarray. (See photo below- I just needed one of the nails with a heart on it redone) they said they couldn't recreate the shape and that it would not look the same... I said that's fine I'm LITERALLY ONLY HERE because I have no other choice. The RUDE B*tch in the first stall behind the reception kiosk grabbed my hand rudely and put acetone & foil on it. She then started on my niece's nails. I told her I only wanted regular polish.. she said 20$.. lol for a child to get their nails done? in sac I literally pay 8-10 bucks for this service. I agreed because I didn't feel like arguing . So she starts doing her nails & seemed to be very nice. (I WAS WRONG lol) Anyway, I sit there for about 30 minutes before another tech moves me to her chair. She says it'll be 15$ to fix my nail?!? Lol obviously these people are money hungry PIGS but like I said I need my nails done so I said f*** it whatever just do the damn nail. I explained that they used a stiletto nail tip and cut the end to make the coffin shape. She did a great job and the mail looked almost identical... (not sure why the owner and rude b*tch didn't know they had these tips.. lmao whatever) My mail was finished and I asked my niece if she was ready to go. She explained that she had messed up her nail a bit. I asked the rude b*tch if I could fix it on my own. She rudely said "THIS IS WHY I DIDNT WANT TO USE REGULAR POLISH" like lady whaaaaatttt if you don't just fix the fu*king nail or allow me to fix it. I said to her "I literally just said I would fix it myself" she grabs my niece's hand RUDELY (an 8 y/o btw) and proceeds to clean it. She then goes to her client sitting in her chair and starts a full set... why would you not just paint the one nail lmaoooo.. would take 2 seconds but anyway... she lets us sit there for over 30 minutes. She said "I don't know why I'm sitting here fixing your nail" you idiot... BECAUSE I PAID 20$ FOR THE SERVICE B**CH!!! So you need to do your job! Tf or you could've let me fix it myself as requested originally! I am not paying an additional 15$ for a gel manicure on a kid. Bye! Get over yourself rude b*tch! That's your new name :) and take a few lessons in customer service bc this is pitiful. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Would NEVER GO BACK. & it's dirty in there. That's what I get for going to a nail shop in Merced. The work is subpar lol. I'm looking at the other reviews. They scream BASIC. Step your game up read more

Save your money and go somewhere else! Very bad customer service. No reason nails are popping off after 3 days!!!!! And then when you go inside and show them- they refuse to fix!! Mind boggling!!! Paid $95 for a full set of shitty nails. Would have had better luck buying some press ons. read more

I came in for a pedicure and saw how they don't change there filing boards or buffer. That is disgusting and very unsanitary. Anyone can catch a fungus ECT.... People shouldn't keep asking for a new file and buffer. State board wouldn't allow this to happen. read more

I love coming here because there is no wait time. I didn't know what color I wanted and saw the marble and asked if they could do it and they did. This is my fourth time here and they always shape my nails well! They know how to keep the length. When you get to talk to the nail ladies, they're really nice and really cool. They're quiet at first but they'll grow on you as long as you talk first. Update: the gel paint on my nails came off in the shower and my toes chipped within a day. Wouldn't recommend the polish here! So disappointed read more

When I first went here as my first time to get acrylic nails, I was not disappointed. The guy ( I don't remember his name) did a very good job because he got the job done quick and it stayed on my nails for a good few weeks. However, when I went back for the second time, I was disappointed. I requested to get my acrylics to get taken off by acetone, but the person who assisted me was quite persistent on just peeling it off. They just peeled it off so when I got a manicure, my nails did not look great. It was very chunky and uneven ( it looked as if I did it myself). If they agreed to let me take it off with acetone, it would probably not look as nice. Overall, i rated it a 1 star because of the lack of customer service as well as my manicure looked as if I did it myself. read more

This is my second time here. The first time I didn't like it because the pedicure was so fast I didn't do much cleaning and it was 1 2 3 and it was done. Not worth the money. I have ingrown and That's the reason I like to get pedicures. So a friend recommended Rachel so I came back for the second time thinking it might be better. Nope. Still 1 2 3 and done. I'm not sure if she was rushing because she had another lady waiting. But that's not cool. I'm a paying customer too. And she didn't even take my ingrown out. So now I still have to make the trip to my nail lady an hour away . Ugh. Trying to find a place here in Merced for the least 3 years I've lived here. But very disappointing. I still have to drive an hour away where I used to live. . Sorry but I don't recommend this place at all. read more

I used to come here because they were decent but since then they've completely gone down hill. Their gel nail sample selection is old and you could barely see the colors and then when you finally choose one they say they don't have any more. I came in for a normal gel manicure, since I mainly needed my cuticles trimmed, but for $25 I got a splotchy bumpy mess. I honestly do my gel nails better at home and unfortunately now I'm just going to have to do that. read more

It is pricy here, but I've been a loyal customer to Diane. She does great on her work, and I always get compliments! It's hard finding a good salon in Merced, let alone an artist who takes pride in her work like Diane does. Walk ins are welcomed but I suggest calling ahead and putting your name in. read more

I have been here before and I absolutely loved the services I got. Today, however was a completely different experience. I walked in to them only having 1 customer so I thought that I would maybe get a little extra pampering. The nail tech I had, Alison, rushed through the entire appointment as if she had somewhere else to go. My pedicure was completed with nails dry in 10 minutes and I had to ask her to do my paint again since she missed half of my toe nails. For my gel manicure, she didn't get off all of my cuticles and even had the gahl to gasp at me when I asked her to redo my polish since there were air bubbles. I was very upset because the owner did nothing, even when he heard me asking for redo's. I will say she complied when I asked her to take a look and redo the polish. Overall I am very upset and I'm not sure I would go here again. read more

I was planning to go to Rose Nails 2, but when I got there, they said they were all full and told me to come back later. I didn't have the time so instead, I went to the original Rose Nails. Luckily, they were able to accommodate me right away; so if Rose Nails 2 is all booked, check out Rose Nails because it's usually little to no wait time - at least when I've gone as a walk-in. I came in for a gel fill and already knew what color I wanted, but their gel color selection is very lacking and colors on the swatch look old and worn out so it's definitely going to look different on your nails, I suggest looking at the actual bottle of polish to see the color. They didn't have the color that I wanted, which was a very very light blue, so I opted for a nude pink I saw on one of the manicure tables. The man who works there did my nails and although he doesn't seem like the friendliest person around, he worked fast. I usually spend about an hour at the nail salon but here I was done in 45 minutes. The gel color was even and my nails were at my desired length and shape. For $25, I have no complaints. If you're looking for an inexpensive place to get your nails done in Merced, Rose Nails is decent. Just don't expect them to be super nice or have a conversation with you, they'll literally just do your nails and be done. I also hope they get more gel colors and repaint the swatches. read more

Patrick is the worst. They really shouldn't let him be the first person you interact with. If you're not a regular, he treats you like trash. He will take everyone else before you and go to the back to make tea so he doesn't have to deal with you. He will also try to talk you out of getting a manicure so that you will leave. I heard him on the phone with people calling and he was so rude. Because of him, I will tell everyone to not come here. read more

Probably the worst nails I've ever had the guy that runs it is super nice I think that his work is quality all of the other girls terrible time spent over $500 on seven people for a work meeting and yet nothing was done quality, went back and ask for them to be redone but figured I'd get the same thing. My nails are perfectly shaped, the polish didn't chip and I went almost 3 weeks before I went back, plus I work in a place that is hard on my hands and my nails hold up without the polish lifting, chipping or coming off. She is flexible, and so very sweet! I was given her name by my tax lady. I'm so glad she referred me to Brianna! I won't go anywhere else. What a great gem!

All of these ladies schedules on are time, like a well-oiled machine. But instead I found something even better, a home that can take care of all of my "I deserve this" needs. The salons owner Melissa who takes care of my nails is an absolutely fabulous conversationalist but you won't hurt her feelings if you say you just rather sit and listen to your music or surf the web on your phone. Sage who does my hair. She can do any kind of hair, color, highlights extensions. If you're a guy you need a haircut or a little kid you need a haircut then Sage is your person. You've got Denise who does waxes, eyebrows, facials and a whole host of other things. There are additional Hair & Nail estheticians in the salon but I just can't remember their names at this time. All I can say is as soon as they get it a masseuse in I will be spending my entire Fridays in there. Thank goodness they are all young, well young based on my age. This means they won't be retiring soon and I will have Melissa and the whole crew for a long long time. If you are time oriented and need an appointment they are perfect if you just need to drop in they are perfect but I do suggest you call ahead if you want to drop in because they are just that busy. And one more thing you get what you pay for. You go to a cheap salon where they push people through like animals to a slaughterhouse, you get sloppy jobs. You come here and you get a super professional job and well worth every penny to look as beautiful as you can be. I received botched acrylics from a nail salon in LA and I desperately needed them fixed because I couldn't look at them any longer. Melissa fit me in last minute for an appointment. She took her time fixing/reshaping/polishing my nails even though she knew I was from out of town and wouldn't be a regular client. Aside from being a talented nail tech, Melissa made the experience enjoyable because she is very friendly and easy to converse with. I wanted several specific colors and she calmly took the time helping me find them as well as the right jewels. The salon is also very clean & cute! I'd recommend this place (and Melissa) to anyone. Honestly, I wish I could come get my nails done here over any of the places I've been to in LA. It's nice knowing there's a great spot in Merced to get my nails done while I'm in town.

I had met Lourdes & Irma at a trade show last year and kept their card. I called & made an appointment with Irma. I sent her a picture of what I wanted and the color spectrum (shades of pink to burgundy with gold highlights intertwined). IT IS AMAZING! It's 5 days later - and I still cannot stop looking at my hair. Not only did she do the ombre, she blended it so there is a 'natural' transition between the colors. The ombre look (see photos) can be used with most any color combo. I chose pink to burgundy but I think for fall and winter I might do orange to brown. Irma was extremely professional and patient with me. She kept me involved thought each step of the process & Kept me laughing the whole time. Once I returned to Vegas, I've had at least 8 people ask me where I got it done & when I told them, they all said it would be worth the drive. I'm going back for a touch up in September and will be scheduling a mani/pedi with Lourdes while I'm there. I cannot say enough about how much I love my hair. Another thing I love about this shop is that it is locally owned. Shop Local keeps money in the community. They are flexible with their hours and try to accommodate their client's schedules when possible. (in early or stay later) Thank you, Irma! You Rock!! Oh yes and their shop is fat chick friendly! During my appointment, Amy was very empathetic towards my situation and did one of the most magical hair transformations I've ever seen . I basically had a mullet from the previous stylist, so Amy put in extensions and blended the color very nicely down to the bottom. Both Amelia and Amy are such lovely people and I feel right at home in this salon . I happily drive from Mariposa to get my hair done here.
