We are addicted and will only use the Ohsawa Nama Shoyu, which is an organic and unpasteurized soy sauce from Japan. Our Whole Foods used to carry it and now they don't and I've looked at some of the local Asian markets but cannot find it so we order from Gold Mine. In all of the years I've been ordering, I have only had one misstep with an order. It was during COVID and I typically order the 32oz bottle which will last us for about 4-5 months. What came that time were two small bottles and I had a bit of a challenge getting in touch with them during that time. Once I was able to talk to someone, they were quick to rectify the situation and they shipped out the big bottle. The shipping is always great with the bottles being bubbled wrapped and then wrapped in thick shipping paper to secure the bottle and get it unbroken to the destination. It also has only taken about 4-5 days from order to arrival. Wanted to give Gold Mine an updated shout out!!! We are customers for life!

Located in the heart of Poway (not too far from home WOOHOO!) and they have a large manufacturing facility that distributes traditional macrobiotic foods and other organic products such as heirloom quality grains, beans, and seeds. They also host classes, event parties, and cooking demos here ! Parking was plentiful on a Saturday evening. Indoor/outdoor set-up. Everything was SPOOKtacularly decorated. The indoor space had a large seating area and a bar with stools. What can I say ? Awesome event ! They celebrated the launch of their new GOLDEN KRAUT !! I'm a sucker for kraut and I was krauted out after this night ! They offered all you can eat FREE BARBEQUE ! We enjoyed vegan frankfurters with Gold Mine Sauerkraut and Kimchi, cucumber salad, potato salad, Maya's Cookies (BOMB.com), and other goodies ! They also had unlimited Green Flash Beer for $10 ! Everything was DEEE-LICIOUS !!! The potato salad was addicting ! I couldn't get enough of it ! The sauerkraut and kimchi were plentiful and more than enough ! I was overwhelmed and as an Asian chick I'm a sucker for fermented foods. The cucumber salad was very refreshing and was a nice addition to the flavorful, vegan frankfurter that can even fool an omnivore. NOMNOMNOM !!! They also had great raffle prizes from Solti juice, Maya's cookies, shirts, gift sets from Gold Mine Natural Food Co., and vacation getaways !! Super generous of them ! I won a huge box of Maya's cookies ! WOOT !! I've never had these cookies before and after this event, I agree that they are the BEST VEGAN COOKIES in San Diego ! Five minutes later, two blocks down the street in another store, the proprietor shows up - had tracked us down - to inform us that our two 12-year-old boys had sprayed a couple of the room sprays that hadn't been clearly marked as "testers" even though they were sitting in a row of about 8 other "tester" bottles. She demanded "accountability" and escorted us back to her store, forcing us to buy two of the room sprays that she said had been used. The kids had made an honest mistake, maybe sprayed one spritz by accident from a bottle that didn't have the tester sticker, and now she was delivering a lecture and coercing us into buying two $15 room sprays she said had been touched! So, wanting this whole uncomfortable affair to end, we had the kids apologize and bought the sprays. Half a block down the street, we decided we didn't want to carry any of her bad juju with us, took the bag of products back and left them on the counter. $60 worth of products, down the tube. It was my friend's birthday and this woman had ruined our afternoon. No one should expect to run a thriving small business when you provide obtuse and awkward responses to legitimate product questions and then proceed to hunt paying customers down on the street and demand payment for merchandise that was handled lightly by two CHILDREN.
