The boat was decorated and vibey, and the views were amazing. I really enjoyed the live musician; that was a nice touch. I also liked the stations with different local vendors. The concept and idea were really cool overall, I just think a bit of the execution slipped through. The ferry dock staff weren't fully aware of the event and couldn't share much info when I asked. And the hummus guy giving just a small spoonful seemed odd You can get a bigger sample at Costco, tbh.
I attended All Aboard Yelp and had such a fun time! The ferry was easy to find once I arrived at Pier 11, and from the beginning, everyone I interacted with was welcoming and personable. I loved how much thought went into making the ferry feel like a Yelp community event despite it being used as a form of transportation for NYC residents. There was cute Yelp-themed décor throughout, highlighting the community and different reasons to get involved, plus games where you could win a tote bag and other branded goodies. There were a few food and drink samples available throughout the event. The Nourish Spot's mocktails were SO good, and the spicy mango lemonade was easily my favorite. I also enjoyed the caviar station and tried some really flavorful hummus from Jack's Dad's Hummus. The food offerings were more like small bites and samples rather than a full meal, so I'd recommend eating beforehand if you're attending a similar event. The entertainment also made the event feel like an adventure. There was a violinist playing great music throughout the ride, and even quick tarot readings with Alexis for anyone interested in receiving a little message they might've been guided to hear in the present moment. Of course, being on the ferry was an experience in itself. Since it made multiple stops along the route, there were plenty of opportunities to step outside, enjoy the water, and capture some beautiful photos of the NYC skyline. One of my favorite parts was the community aspect. I was able to connect with other creators naturally throughout the ferry, so it ended up being a great place for casual networking without feeling like a traditional networking event. Overall, All Aboard Yelp was such a creative way to experience the Yelp community in person. Between cruising around NYC, the skyline views, entertainment, activities, samples, and people I met, there was always something going on. I'd absolutely attend another Yelp NYC event!
Thank you Katey G, Morena, and CMD Samantha!!! The NYS Ferry event was a lovely event, filled with meeting new Yelp Elites, connecting with other fellow Yelpers. As we got onto the ferry, we were greeted by Yelp staff, and ferry crew that showed us where we could start. I ran straight for the tarot cards. Very lucky to be the first with getting my reading. Review for tarot card reading will be posted Next I saw the line for drinks, we all made a bee line thinking we were getting alcohol with our drinks, no..... healthy alcohol free mocktails that did not disappoint. See separate posted review. The upper deck had games, prizes, Yelp merch (photo of mine posted below). And amazing tastings of Jack's Dad Hummus (see posted review). The ferry event was a great time, especially hanging out, and meeting other fun, cool, Yelpers! My takeaway is when you want to see other parts of NYC on a warm, sunny day. The ferry is always a treat, and definitely a great way to travel, when needing to beat the traffic. Winter season is an option, the lower deck is indoors with heat, or air conditioning in the summer.
I do understand why lots of yelpers were confused and not happy about finding the place . I am just glad I took a day off from work and went mad early to get the ticket and wait . Was it worth all this effort, maybe not . But all events can't be as successful as others. It's the thought, effort trying something different which matters; thats the point I am trying to make . I could have stayed home on my day off & sleep but I had to come and show my support! Especially when I get to meet a lot of my Yelp buddies from three different boroughs ! And make some new friends, I can atleast try. Also I was excited to finally get the chance to meet ketty face to face . I did expected little bit more snacks. The duck game was cute. I felt like the goodies should be there for everyone. It's not fair for some to get some than the rest to get nothing. And some to get multiple items and some don't. It could have been just one item and all of us could get it. It's just something fun to have. I also didn't realize about the testing of hummus until I took the ferry back. It was good. Jack was wonderful. So far my favorite was the mocktails ! Enjoyed the music, he was brilliant and a very nice person. Didn't get the chance to do the reading! The decoration was cute, the outfits of our Yelp managers were so cute. Loved it so much . Thank you all for trying out something new, excitement was real. Effort was there, I had a good time.
Pretty cool event thanks to Yelp, our CM's, and NYC Ferry! I do wish it was a smoother process getting on as the line was soo long at the pier (even though I came early) and it was pretty crowded when I got in. Like others have mentioned, it would've been nice if we didn't have to get off and re-enter at the East 90th St stop. But still, very cool with a live violinist (this might have been my favorite part as he really set the mood and was so smiley and happy), caviar bumps, tarot card readings, polaroid photos, mocktails, merch, and a good breeze! It's been awhile I took the ferry so this was nice, but was sad that the line for the tarot card reading was too long (and I had already passed my stop home once so I didn't want to skip it again) so I had to leave before it was almost my turn. I also did wish there were more food/snacks! The mocktails were good and I loved the hummus sampling I got but even if it was some chips or something simple out there would've made it more enjoyable. Still a very cool experience, love my cute Yelp bag, and love seeing Katey each time (will have to introduce myself to the other CM's)!!
I think people forget that NYC was one of the great port cities in the US. The city looks fantastic from the water and I recommend the ferry all the time. My favorite NY Ferry is the Rockaway route. SO much better than taking the train. The last ferry back is the absolute best because the sun sets with gorgeous colors as you pass under the Verrazano Bridge and by the time you get to Coney Island, the lights are all lit. It was good to see Katey and Peter D.!!! Haven't seen him in a while! I got two drinks from Nourish Spot (the Spicy Mango Lemonade was particularly good), some of Jack's Dad's Hummus served by Jack himself, and two blini with caviar. There also was a violinist and tarot reader. I not only got to enjoy the sights but the ferry also put me closer to home than I expected. The ferry really is the best way to travel in NYC.
Personally, I love taking the ferry since I was a kid but never really got to enjoy it as much until recent years. It's especially a great way to travel with a stroller and that's exactly how I got to Wall Street. Brought my crew consisting of one toddler in a stroller and MIL via ferry and transferred on to the event. The details were specific and broad at the same time. Since this was open to the public, I went early and with low expectations because I was thinking that there's no way they're going to serve the Yelp crowd + interested ferry community + the usual passengers. I boarded the "first" ferry at Wall Street and I'm glad I did, because I had no idea I had to disembark at 90th Street, and hop back on with a fresh ticket. For the non-ten pack holders who decided to stay, that's $9 RT. The experience up to 90th Street was crowded and a bit chaotic. This used to be my route home and as a normal passenger, I would be worried whether I can get on the boat to get home without waiting for the next one. Once on the boat, I attempted to check out each station on the bottom, but ultimately just headed to the deck. It was a beautiful day to enjoy the views. Stations: - Tarot was already forming a line so I initially skipped it. Luckily got a read at the very end coming from 90th Street! Alexis was great. - Violinist Maestro Kaiso made the boat lively with his music. - Phone message - very cute. My LO found it fun to hold it to his ear. - Lite bites - shout out to Jack for making Jack's Dad's (miso) hummus into such a friendly and personable experience. The caviar bumps on the other hand, while appreciated, felt distant and a singular transaction. - Drinks - the Nourish was delicious. My toddler wouldn't let go of the cup. Both options were delicious. -Deck offered Yelp swag if you check in. It got a bit hectic at first and slowly died down. Witnessing the NYC Ferry + Yelp collab was overall enjoyable, albeit chaotic.
Wonderful event! I decided to take a half day to enjoy today's activity across the Hudson. I've never taken this ferry, so wasn't sure what to expect. From Wall St to Astoria with some gorgeous views, some nice refreshments, a little caviar, and a bunch of Elites. It was a little reminiscent of the old days on the Hornblower boat cruise, but without the bells and whittles. Thanks to Yelp and NY Waterway for this event!
An unknown gem! I knew that there were ferries in the city besides the Staten Island ferry. I just didn't know where they went or where to catch it. I also didn't know how much it would cost. Thanks to YELP I now know there's a speedy way to get me from Manhattan to Brooklyn army terminal for just $4.50! The event itself was nice. I brought a friend to tag along to see what great things Yelp does for its members. Boarding was seamless. Showed my ferry pass and walked right on in. The lower deck was decorated with Yelp banners looking festive. There were caviar bumps up for grabs. Amazing juices that were refreshing. Rubber duckie prized games, hummus tasting & on the spot photo prints. It was a beautiful day to be at sea. Overlooking the water and the view of NYC. I'm so happy to have spent my day off with Yelp & feeling like a tourist in my very own city!
This was a cute event. I'm a fan of the ferry and would love an excuse to go on it. Especially on such a nice day. The little activations were pleasing. I'm a fan of caviar and blinis so finding a new source was fun. I follow the nourish spot so getting to taste their mocktails again was a nice treat. My tarot experience was something I needed to have. Overall the people were nice and I'm looking forward to my next ferry trip.
All Aboard Yelp was a fun, unique event for all. It was a great way to take in the sights of the city. I boarded on the East 90th Street route of the ferry. It was a fun ride through the city with live music, caviar, a Tarot Card reading, drinks, swag and of course the wonderful Yelp community. A big shout out to the entire Yelp teams from Queens, Brooklyn, and Manhattan. It was not an easy endeavor to pull off such a big event for the community and to the public.
I was confused on how to get on. There should've been a description of how the boat would look or something. I got on the wrong Ferry, thankfully I got off the next stop to ask the employees. Only one employee knew what I was talking about. There should've been more communication about this, maybe even a group chat. Also the food was??? This wasn't as organized as other events. I'm a bit disappointed.
Thank you NYC Ferry, the Yelp team and all the event partners and especially Katey G. and Morlene for arranging this spectacular event! It was my first time on NYC Ferry including exploring this far up the East River by boat and definitely I plan to travel more on NYC Ferry... next time to Rockaway! It was a spectacular experience. All event partners really added to the amazing time! Maestro Kaiso Chizoba provided excellent music during the journey. Tasty Creations provided luxurious bumps of indulgent Black Diamond Golden Oestra Caviar, with and without the mini blini! Was able to savor both of The Nourish Spot's Mocktails - and the watermelon and citrus Slender Bender as well as my favorite the Spicy Mango Lemonade. On the upper deck, Jack offer samples of his dad's hummus. Enjoyed talking to people, but as well admiring the East River vantage points of the U.N. building, the iconic Pepsi Cola billboard, and the underside of the Queensboro Bridge. What a pleasure to travel on the ferry! Will recommend to friends and family to take a ride on NYC Ferry, even if just for the views! Again, big thanks NYC Ferry, Yelp, all the event partners, plus Katey G. and Morlene! It was a memorable trip!

Appreciation to NYC Ferry, Yelp, all the Yelp CM teams, and all the vendors who came out for this one-of-a-kind event! This was my first experience in a very long time on the ferry and it made me wonder why I hadn't taken it more recently. It's a scenic way to get around if the stops are convenient for your travel route, and a great way to show Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens to friends from out of town. Arriving to the first stop on the route about 15 minute ms before departure, the line was long, around 100 people easily. I bought my ticket $4.50 at a kiosk and boarding took about 20 minutes. On board it was time to check out the setup, there were Yelp signs, bites and swag in several places - toward the back of the lower level, and in a few spots on the upper exterior level. It was a little confusing to figure out where to go and which line was for what in the beginning, I took a look at the lines upstairs and aside from picking up a Yelp reusable bag, decided the other lines weren't worth the wait, though I'm glad other attendees enjoyed their swag! Back downstairs thanks to the vendors doing the caviar tidbits and mocktails, these were enjoyable. The violinist brought smiles and a great energy. Given the layout of the boat, with non-Yelpers and people getting on and off, compared to regular YEE's a bit harder to find a good spot for convos, though I was fine to sit back and enjoy the views for the 30ish minutes I was aboard. read more

As at least one other mentioned, this would have been a great event for someone who needs to take the ferry anyway, not to spend time lined up for the ferry and then riding it to a destination you don't need to go to anyway. The ferry is convenient to go between Queens, Manhattan and Brooklyn, and has nice views. I understand why NYC Ferry would want more people to be aware of it. I don't believe we were informed that you need to get off the ferry at the end of the line and pay again to get back on. For example if you get on at LIC on the way to 90th, everyone must disembark at 90th then use a new ticket to get back on with everyone else already waiting to get on. If you don't get back on then you need to find an alternate route home to where you began. I only stayed a couple stops so I could get home at a reasonable time to eat dinner without taking the ferry to the end and back, which would have taken a while. Food: Caviar bumps - a bite of caviar either on a spoon or on some sort of cracker/pastry. Jack's Dad's Hummus - a baby carrot dipped in one of the 4 hummus flavors The Nourish Spot - a cup of refreshing and tasty juice blend blend Tarot - there was a wait for readings so I didn't think I would be able to get one in time before we get kicked off at the end of the line line Swag - a cute red Yelp ferry themed reusable tote containing some local coupons and a bracelet with a local business name on it - pick a duck to determine which swag you get. I'll kick things off with the positives: The NYC Yelp Community team did a fantastic job decorating the ferry! It truly felt like a signature Yelp brand event. My personal favorites were the spicy lemonade and the delicious hummus from Jack's Dad. The caviar station was also a top-tier touch. As always, one of the best parts of attending Yelp events is connecting with other Yelpers. I loved getting to take photos, enter the tote bag giveaway, and chat with like-minded people. The vision was definitely there, but there are a few areas for improvement: Having to disembark the ferry only to wait in line to re-board felt unnecessarily time-consuming--especially for an event centered around cruising the city. While I understand headcount tracking is essential, it would be much more seamless if staff could tally guests who choose to stay on board. If this event continues to include non-Yelp passengers, giving Yelp Elites priority would make a world of difference. Ideally, securing a ferry exclusively for Yelp members in the future would elevate the experience completely. Due to the large turnout, the upper deck became quite congested, making it tricky to navigate through the different stations. All in all, the concept was great. If this was the team's first time hosting this specific format, I'm happy to give them grace and look forward to seeing how they refine the logistics for future events! read more
All Aboard was so much fun! The ferry is already my favorite mode of transportation in the summer and this event made it so much more enjoyable. Would have loved it if the boat was just Yelp Elites because some stops were way too crowded to move around but I still had a blast all the same. Still planning my trip to Greenpoint for that Sesame free hummus! Shout out Jacks Dad for sure read more
The All Aboard Yelp Event was held on an NYC Ferry that ran along the Wall St. / Pier 11 - Astoria Route. I agree w/ things that other people stated in their reviews of this event. Rather than sound redundant & rehash everything, I will give my pros & cons. Pros: I want to thank the Yelp NYC Community Managers for sending a thorough, detailed email regarding this event. It included Fun Facts w/ information, Boarding Recommendations & the NYC Ferry Route Schedule. Because they included this Route Schedule in the email, it helped me to conclude that I should use my one-way ticket (thanks you-know-who for the ticket!), & get the ferry at East 90th (when I 1st got there it was a short line so I was closer to the front of the line). The ferry at East 90th allowed me to ride the entire route until it ended at Wall St. / Pier 11. This was closer to the Advance Film Screening I attended that evening on 14th Street. I spoke to a NYC Ferry representative prior & they provided good customer service. Upon the ferry arrival at East 90th, it was nice to see the ferry decorated nicely. It was all-things "Yelp" themed & festive. There were beautiful scenic views along this NYC Ferry route. I enjoyed taking pictures, especially of the gorgeous skyline views. Vendors - I had The Nourish Spot's Slender Bender Mocktail - Watermelon, Orange & Pineapple. It was good. Tasty Creations had choice of a Caviar Bump or Caviar on Blini. Jack's Dad's Hummus, & Tarot by Alexis were present. ESP Camera took some fantastic disposable photos - 1 for Yelp & 1 for you to keep, which was cool. Violinist Maestro Kaiso Chizoba was terrific. He played wonderful music. Cons: this is where I agree w/ several Yelpers. Due to the way that it was structured, It was difficult to navigate. People were unsure as to where specific things were & some were unaware of vendors like Jack's Dad's Hummus. The Tarot Card Line was long & some people did not get a "reading" before departing the ferry (as Fiona O. mentioned). Instead of having the fabulous "All Aboard Yelp" Canvas White Tote & T-Shirt as some of the limited prizes for the "Pick A Duck" Game, these should have been given out to each person (as Rezwana stated that 1 Yelp uniformed Swag item should have been given to everyone) once they boarded the boat. The "Pick A Duck" Game could have had all trinket prizes, such as sunglasses, lip balm, etc. which some people did receive. There could have been a way to ensure that everyone either got a t-shirt or the commemorative white canvas tote bag (that Justin D. mentioned was advertised online, but that he was disappointed just like others were in not receiving one) upon ferry entry. A process such as stamping each person's hand or crossing their name off a list, or giving a party pass & scanning it upon arrival onto the ferry, etc. & then giving this 1 special piece of commemorative swag to each person after that would have been nice. Everyone in the Yelp Community would have all felt special taking this home. When doing large, special events in the future, please consider ordering in bulk & giving everyone the same special swag item. There are people that have been an active part of the Yelp Community (writing reviews, etc.) for years that would have liked a t-shirt or that canvas tote to celebrate this "All Aboard Yelp" Ferry Event. It would be nice if future NYC Ferry Events or other boat ride events that are being considered are held after business hours so that there is higher capacity for actual Yelpers. All in all, I appreciated being part of this event. Thank you! read more
All Aboard Yelp was AMAZING from start to finish. I arrived early and sat on the shore sipping tasty boxed Chardonnay from the snack stand and mingling with other Yelpers. The weather was comfortable and breezy and so was our ferry. It was roomy and clean and alive with vibes. I enjoyed the most delicious caviar bumps and mingled some more. I was too giggly to sit still for the Tarot reader but enjoyed the ferry ride. We left Pier 11 and made a few stops along the way. Everyone was in such a good mood. Morlene, you were too cute in your sailor hat. It was great seeing Yelp ambassador Peter D. after so many years. I ended my ferry fun at the Navy Yard drop-off. I disembarked with some really cool gifts-a beautifully designed shoulder bag, caviar spoons and a little rubber duck. I had such a blast! Thank you Morlene and to every Yelper who made a basic Tuesday afternoon feel like a fantastic Saturday night! read more

This was a cute event. I ride the boats a few times a month. I liked how they customized the boat for this yelp event. During this event they had live music, tarot reading, gifts and food tastings. This was my first time trying caviar and was surprised with the taste they had hummus from a brooklyn family company which was really yummy and juices that were spicy mango which was my favorite. This was a big event to pull off and I felt like the Yelp team did a good job considering. As you can imagine lines and lack of space were a thing. I tried to take advantage of all the activations available. I was able to experience everything before we debarked except the taro card reader. No true complaints this wasn't a food heavy event so just a light beverage and a snack only. read more
Thankful to the Yelp team for putting this experience together. There was a bit of a delay with the ferry pickup from E. 34th St. and I found it a bit confusing as I couldn't find any of the advertised food vendors once we got on board. Drinks were available for purchase. While it wasn't my favorite event, I still enjoyed being out on the water and taking in the beautiful clear skies. One of the highlights was having Polaroids taken and getting to take a copy home, which was a nice touch. read more

I was excited when I saw the All aboard Yelp event. As a regular rider of the ferry, I was intrigued to see how a Yelp Eite event would be integrated. This would be the first Yelp Elite event I attended that didnt have a dedicated area for the attendees. The schedule chart that was sent before the event was helpful to determine where to get on for a full experience. When I arrived on the ferry there was Yelp signage on the main level of the ferry. There was a musician, caviar, and mocktails on the main level. On the rooftop you could get some yelp goodies, a tote, and hummus. the photographer was walking around capturing pictures of the moment. If you were a person who never rode the ferry, it might have been difficult to enjoy the ferry and the event at the same time. Overall it was an interesting event.\ read more
The concept of taking over the ferry is awesome!!! The delivery.... Not so much.... Due mostly in part to logistics. The pre boarding talk of the town was over 800 interested yelpers mixing up with rush hour commutes would make for a crowded ride. As such I chose to ferry from Greenpoint to Wall Street, then transfer to the Astoria line with the anticipation of debarking in Long Island city, making a round trip on one ticket. The wait was typical rush hour... I sipped my pina colada in a pouch while on line keeping cool with my fellow helper that joined me with a hard seltzer! Yelpers unite! The concept again was great and the decorations were pretty awesome considering how hard, logistically it is to decorate a "ferry". Violinist was amazing... walked right into his rendition of My Caribbean boy which was amazing. Mocktails... had the spicy lemonade and it was really good.... Although I don't like being "mocked" and preferred to be buzzed Tarot card reading was cute "messages from the universe" for me.... And my message even surprised her.... But that's no surprise. Swag.... I received a hat but really wanted a tee .... But at least I received something. Hummus, only one carrot stick and one flavor to try.... Wasn't enough... unfortunately.... I would've liked to try all the flavors and perhaps by itself sans carrot. Execution now... slightly disappointing....noted this was not an elite event... and does attract a different type of yelper...was open to the public.... Perhaps due to being on the rush hour route...limited bites and one sample is sometimes not enough to properly even taste the product. I chose caviar on the blink and felt the dough overpowered the caviar... and was stamped and no other samples offered. If I had came across this event by my daily travels on the ferry it would have been a wonderful surprise..... but the leaving work early, running two blocks (in flip flop sandals) to catch the last ferry that would get me to the first Wall Street boat on time, and the planning route thinking....all a bit much for the small amount of things experienced. There could have been improvements, but I admire the attempt and was super happy to see both the Brooklyn and queens community managers present and their cute getups! Good vibes, great breeze, good company, wonderful views of the city from the ferry. I got some light bites and samples from local vendors. I must admit it was a popular event so it was quite packed, but the more the merrier. The only downside that it wasn't clear how many tickets to buy. Met some cheerful yelp staff to get in the mood. read more
All Aboard Yelp sounded like a pleasant boat ride with perks. Unfortunately it didn't quite materialize. At the East 34th Pier it was difficult to find fellow Yelpers. Finally I found Lisa and Vivian and we stayed together through this event. It would have been nice for someone from Yelp at the pier for inquiries. We walked into the boat which was crowded as regular commuters were also there. Eats had been in the email but all we had were teeny tiny spoons of caviar on what resembled Mother-of-Pearl spoons. I had three but was still peckish. The three of us walked up to see the view and were given various non edible treats. We all got off at 90th Street and made our way home. Would it have been expensive to have done individually wrapped edibles on this voyage? read more
We had so much fun onboard the Yelp Ferry! My friend and I are big NYC Ferry girls so we knew we had to check this out. We boarded at the E 90th St stop, which was my first time at that stop, and rode all the way down to Wall St. I was so impressed with the decor all around the boat and all of the fun stations. We got to try delicious and refreshing juice and caviar, have a film photo taken, and grab some goodies too! The weather was kind of yucky that day, but being aboard the Yelp boat made it much more enjoyable. Thanks, NYC Yelp team, for thinking of innovative ways for us to try local businesses! read more

Ended up on an unexpected adventure from Wall Street all the way to 96 st. Was surprised they had some nice goodies and caviar. The seats in the ferry made it kind of hard to wait in line. Luckily I didn't have alcohol or else I would've fell in the East River. Spicy mango juice was good. The carrot and hummus was very healthy. Wish there was more time to get a tarot reading read more
I regularly commute from E 90th to Astoria and was pleasantly surprised when I realized Yelp was doing an event with the ferry! There were bites, drinks, and live music! Only stayed for the short commute (4 mins - very efficient) but I'm a big fan of ferry commuting. read more
