This is a HUGE shout out to All About Animals and the new Vet, Doctor Martin and all the wonderful staff!! We have taken all of our cats to them for over 25 years and they have always been extremely kind, gentle and especially caring!! Recently we took our 16 year old cat in on an emergency visit because he was totally lethargic, had been limping and not himself at all. Dr Martin ran tests and found nothing but listened to all the symptoms and recommended a new treatment for cats with arthritis - it's called Solensia and it is a MIRACLE worker and not too expensive considering the relief it gave my fur baby!! They make it for dogs too!! My cat has stopped limping and is like his young self again - even playing with our 2 year old cat!! An especially big hug goes to Deidra who has been with the business for many years. She is an absolute treasure and the most caring person I've ever met. Please DO NOT take your animal here. I recently switched to use them for boarding and my elder dog came home super sick! When I took her back I was charged another $157 for them to tell me it was because of her teeth - which was not mentioned as a serious concern in the 2 pervious back to back exams they made me pay for. To start my process with them I called to get an estimate on how much it would be to get my animals their shots so they could be boarded and was quoted a lower price than what I was charged. They kept tacking on office visits, exam fees, etc. To top all of this off they would not even approve a prescription for flea medicine from Walmart Pets RX without me coming in again - no doubt so they could charge me more. They did not appear to have my dogs welfare in their best interest - only the bottom line. I could have looked past everything but MY DOG IS STILL SICK from being boarded with them. I urge you to NOT TAKE A CHANCE with your pets at this vet! FYI Carrol County Animal Hospital had no problem approving the flea medicine prescription for my girls. read more

Being new to the area, I was looking for a cats only, or at least a cat friendly, practice. Unfortunately, there are no cats only vets anywhere remotely close to Carrollton. I was told on the phone All About Animals has a "cat" entrance and a "dog" entrance. When I arrived in the parking lot, I saw two entrances, but neither had signage specifying who each door was for. My cat and I were the only ones in the waiting rooms. I say rooms because the entrances lead to two waiting areas that are only separated by the front desk. So if there had been dogs barking in their waiting area, it still would've terrified my cat since he is never around dogs. We were taken into a small exam room that had a couple of cat posters on the walls so I guess that was the designated cat room. It looked like it had been quite awhile since it's last thorough cleaning. The vet tech appeared nervous to take my cat out of his carrier and unsure while handling him. Another tech came in to do the fecal test and she appeared to handle him very roughly, and shoved the probe almost all the way into my poor, terrified kitty. The vet came in and did not introduce himself. He did not handle my cat in a gentle, caring manner during his exam or shots. When I left the parking lot, I noticed they have "No Dogs" signs in their front bushes. I understand that, but they should have a designated area outside for dogs to do their thing, but I didn't see one. I thought that didn't reflect well on this practice at all. On my way home, I actually stopped the car twice and checked my cat to see if he was rectally bleeding due to how rough he had been treated. Thankfully he never bled, that I could see, but I shouldn't have been worried, concerned and checking for that. I won't be taking any of my cats to this practice. After how he was treated, it started making sense to me why there were no other cars in the lot nor people and pets in the waiting rooms. I recommend NOT taking any of your fur family there if you want them treated in a loving and caring manner. UPDATE to SUZANNE at All About the Animals - I am not a bogus reviewer and the experience I wrote about most certainly happened to me and my cat. There is nothing to be done to change my opinion, nor experience, of AAtA. My review is an accurate and honest description of my experience at your practice. With the attitude and comment about my review being "if real" confirms my choice to remain anonymous. We board Hunter our Golden Retriever here and we are always so very pleased. He really likes hanging out with Tess and the staff really listens to my concerns. Hunter always comes with a bag of toys, snacks, food and blankets and All About Animals is very accommodating. I saw this vet for the first time on a Saturday. I actually got there and was seen relatively quickly. The vet techs were very sweet and they really loved on my kitty. Not only that, but I got to see the real doctor, not someone whose name doesn't appear on the business nor was my cat treated only by techs. Thanks, Dr. Lipham. I will be back to have another cat neutered. I'm not looking for cut rate prices, but this vet is much more fair than the other vets I have used in this area regarding price. I took my dog and beat friend in of 14 years on Friday because she had what looked like cherry eye and they treated me like she was abused and I kicked her !! She died on Sunday. I spent the whole weekend taking care of her and reviewing cameras on my property and no one ever came onto our property or did she leave it ! He gave her cream for her eye and pain medication. Unfortunately, I'm writing to report a Cat Friendly Practice that was NOT friendly to my cat. I just sent a message on the American Association of Feline Practitioners website asking them to investigate. I don't know if they do that, or if posting this warning here will help. I just want to warn people in general that a clinic can say they're cat-friendly, and use the CFP logo, but actually be the opposite when you get there. My experience was with Dr. Luke B. Lipham at All About Animals Veterinary Services, P.C. in Carrollton, GA. I'm new to Carrollton, and used the CFP locator on the AAFP website in the hopes of finding a great vet to work with. I took my young female cat to Dr. Lipham last week, and was very angry when I left. First, the clinic website indicates that they have an exam room dedicated to cats, but when I asked about this, the technician told me that dogs and cats are seen in all the rooms. Second, Dr. Lipham didn't even introduce himself to me when he entered the room. Third, he and his technician handled my cat like she was a sack of potatoes. They started by dumping her out of her carrier, instead of taking the top off, which would have been easier and less scary for her. Then they both picked her up by her scruff and flopped her around from side to side. When I told the Dr. that I thought she had a hernia, he said that, yes, he could feel it, then flopped her upside down and jammed his thumb into the hole in her abdominal wall and invited me to do the same. Finally, both the Dr. and the technician talked loudly, slammed the door several times, and the Dr. slammed a clipboard onto the exam table in front of my cat's carrier. It was clear that Dr. Lipham either didn't care about the stress he was causing my cat, or that he was ignorant about it. My cats are members of my family, and I wouldn't recommend this practice to anyone. Furthermore, I will be warning anyone who asks about the way in which my cat was treated there. If any of you know of a good website to post a veterinarian review, please let me know and I'll be happy to give an account of my experience. The AAFP's website has great guidelines for making a clinic cat-friendly, but this clinic didn't adhere to most of them. read more

About 2 months ago my dachshund was having a hard time getting around, i came home and found him in his own urine. That's when i looked around for a vet open on a Saturday. I was able to get him in within 30mins which i was thankful for. We went in and sat down and filled out paperwork, again not a problem. When the vet tech came in the waiting room she picked up Frankie and said she needed to weigh him. He was gone 15+ mins. Then all of the sudden the vet came out with her and my dog. Vet said that the reason my dog wasn't walking was because he was a dachshund. Umm. Really? i had no idea what breed he was or what problems this breed has. He was extremely rude! not one time did they bring us back to a room and asked what Frankie's symptoms were. I took my dog home and treated him myself. Turns out it was his foot/ankle area. Not his back! Needless to say i will not be back, i have 5 dogs. I will tell everyone i know to stay away from this vet. read more

We have taken our dog, Lucy, here since we adopted her from the pound almost a year ago. They are the most kind and caring people. Our dog has anxiety, yet she is always excited to see her friends at All About Animals. They are very thorough in their exams and testing and are always upfront abut any cost. Dr. Lipham is knowledgeable and easy to talk to. He offers different options of treatment and is good at explaining tests that are run and diagnosis. I recommend this veterinary office any chance I get. We are very pleased with the office and everyone who works in it. read more

Recently my Bassett Hound needed care after an emergency surgery. Even though it was a holiday weekend, the doctor called me every day & kept me informed of her progress. We added a new family member to our house two years after loosing one of our family fur members. When searching for a vet in this area we saw that this vet was recommended by the American Animal Hospital Association. We have only taken our dog in once for shots and to help clear up a UTI. For two years, we purchased our Petmeds from 1800Petmeds. We never had a problem. We always got what we ordered and they are a very reputable company. When I ordered our dogs pet meds, they needed a prescription for the heartgaurd. I received an e-mail from 1800PetMeds informing that they made two attempts to contact our vet. So I called. Robert informed me that they refuse to deal with third parties because they can't guarantee that my dog will be getting the right meds, but did tell me that I could bring my dog in and I could buy the medication from them instead, which cost more than what I bought it for online...same product. Also, 1800petmeds medication comes with a guarantee. I highly doubt this doctor has one for his animals if they get heart worms from the medication he sells. http://www.1800petmeds.com/guarantee-heartgard.jsp When I told him that wasn't an option he then informed me that there would be a 6 dollar fee to pull my dogs chart and for the doctor to sign a prescription. First, I do not like being nickle and dimed by a company. Secondly, I am an adult and I have brought my dog in for shots and an exam. Who am I buying these drugs for? My kids? No. Thirdly, I shouldn't have to drive to go get a piece of paper this day in age that can easily be faxed. That requires me to load up my kids, drag them in there and wait for this all to happen and spend my gas money. How about we charge the doctor for our time? In the end, poor customer service. I will find another vet who cares about not only their fur patients, but their human clientele and their wallets. Also, if you have a cat allergy, don't go to this place. I always left itchy, sneezy and hives especially after an hour long wait for an exam. They could stand to shut down for a night and clean the base boards and walls of the place and make it a little more sterile. I am attaching the letter that I was sent after my conversation on the phone with Robert. I understand you are not happy with us in regards to Sam's Heartgard prescription. I can only say that Dr. Lipham does not give out prescriptions over the phone, by fax or by email to a third party because we must guarantee the medication is going to the owner of the pet for whom it is intended. We also cannot be responsible for the quality of the product bought from a third party, whereas we know the Heartgard we sell comes directly from the manufacturer. As for the $6 prescription fee, it is a modest fee for the time of our staff to pull your chart, note the request, and follow up with a written prescription from Dr. Lipham. This has been our policy for some time and I am very sorry if you see this as an attempt to get more money from our clients. My mom's and daughter's cats have been treated there with no complaints and only great satisfaction. We have one cat currently there being treated. I have felt like he is getting the best of care. They took me as a walk yesterday since we had never used them. I went there because of the way they seemed to care and treated the cats mentioned above. I GREATLY appreciated them seeing our cat. His condition trned out to be an emergency situation for our cat. It took Dr. Lipham less than a minute to figure out what was going on. They gave me information about his condition and have kept in contact with us about his progress. read more

We've used All About Animals ever since returning to the Atlanta area in 2005. Dr. Lipham and his staff are responsive, friendly, and have always proven effective when our shih tzu Pepper has had an issue. In addition to the usual vaccinations and other annual check-ups, Pepper has had allergy skin problems and kidney stones. We have been most satisfied with the diagnosis and they have been on the mark with their treatment each time. We began using Dr. Lipham on the recommendation of two daughters. One has six dogs and depending on the month, between 3 and 6 or 7 cats. The other two dogs and one cat. All of us are satisfied customers as the amount of years and number of animals we have on the hospital's roles between us so obviously attests. read more

My family had a HORRIBLE experience with All About Animals on June 28, 2011. We were very disappointed with the way our 2 year old Miniature Dachshund, Bailey, was treated when we took her in for a severely injured leg. In the past, we have taken our animals there to get their shots and check-ups, and have received decent care for the minor things. However, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND using All About Animals for sick or injured animals. After this horrible experience, my family will NOT be taking any of our pets back there again for any reason, not even shots! Dr. Lipham failed to render care to our pet and allowed her to lay in her own blood, hurting and in shock from 7:50 a.m. until 4:45 p.m. at which time he finally told us that "he had looked her over briefly but had not done much for her because he assumed that we would just put her down (euthanize her) rather than wanting to spend a bunch of money on orthopedic surgery to repair her leg." We were devastated at the thought of our sweet little girl lying there suffering all day long, even though we had called nine times (literally) and stopped by there twice attempting to get an update on her and find out if they were able to help her or if we would need to take her elsewhere that specialized in these types of injuries. We were not upset at the fact that the care Bailey needed was outside the scope of Dr. Lipham's expertise. Our upset was over the fact that Dr. Lipham and his Staff did not tell us that they HAD NOT helped her and COULD NOT help her. When we took her in that morning, we made it very clear to the Vet Techs to PLEASE ask Dr. Lipham to do all that he can to help her, no matter how much it would cost, and IF he could not help her, PLEASE call us immediately so we could take her to a Veterinarian who specializes in trauma. All About Animals charged us $150 when all they did was allow her to lay there suffering all day. The amount of money was not the issue, it was the NEGLIGENCE! We paid them and left immediately to take her to Georgia Veterinarian Specialists (GVS) in Roswell and they agreed that Dr. Lipham and the Staff at All About Animals were negligent in this situation and said they should NOT have let Bailey lay there, hurting and with open wounds all day. GVS began working on her immediately. They were absolutely wonderful and we are blessed that they were willing and able to save her life. It has been almost four weeks now and Bailey is doing GREAT! She is walking fine and expected to make a full recovery within the next 6-8 weeks. Our family is so thankful that we were able to take our pet to a caring, competent place (GVS) and save her life instead of killing her as Dr. Lipham had suggested. It is our hope that other families will not suffer a loss because All About Animals refuses to admit when they cannot handle a situation. Its okay if they can't, but they should be willing to tell you that rather than trying to make it seems as if an animal has no hope. After all, a Vet should be in this field because he cares about animals and not because he simply wants to make a living $150 at a time! If your pet is part of your family and you consider them to be a loyal little person in a fur coat, as we do, I would NOT recommend using All About Animals as your Vet Clinic. Our new regular Veterinarian is Dr. McCord at Bowdon Animal Clinic and he is WONDERFUL! read more
