Disappointed and Frustrated with Grooming Services…read more I brought my miniature schnauzer to PetSmart Austell Georgia, East west Conn. for a full grooming service--wash, haircut, nail grinding, and teeth cleaning--which was supposed to cost $72 ($54 for wash and haircut, $24 for add-ons). Unfortunately, things went wrong from the start. On Tuesday, July 8, 2025, they were unable to complete the haircut due to an open wound they discovered after starting. While accidents can happen, no apology was given, and the staff immediately denied any responsibility. They also didn't explain how the injury happened and waited hours before contacting me. I was still charged $53.10 for the bath and add-ons--despite not receiving the full service I booked. They told me to come back in a few weeks to complete the haircut. On Tuesday, July 15, 2025, I returned and was told the price would be $48.60, even though all that was done was the haircut. No bath was provided this time, yet I was told they "couldn't separate" the wash and haircut--even though they clearly did the first time. I was told I was receiving a 15% discount for the inconvenience, but it made little sense given I was being double charged for the wash and haircut. The haircut alone would've been $22 without the discount--so I still overpaid. I ended up not paying the $48.60 because of the price increase and overall mishandling of the situation. In total, I was charged for services I didn't fully receive, my dog left injured with no accountability, and I was given inconsistent information about pricing. PetSmart needs to improve transparency, communicate better in these situations, and take responsibility when a pet is harmed in their care. I will not be returning.

Why would someone pay for their dogs to be let outside and not be supervised? My dog also "ran out of food" even though I packed extra bags. I even picked up my dog EARLY and they couldn't tell me when my dog had be fed last but swore we had enough good. However, they couldn't find any of the extra bags I packed. On top of all this, they improperly had their costs listed on their google site, which the owner (Brandon) said he would correct. Unfortunately, it took me submitting a complaint to my credit card company before he finally addressed the overcharge. After all this, the owner offered to give my dog the bath that I had initially asked for but I would NEVER leave my animal in their care again so I politely declined. Cash's appointment lasted just under an hour from the time grooming began until he was ready. When Cash was done, his coat looked, felt, and smelled exactly as it did before the appointment. Based on six years of professional grooming and regular bathing and blow-drying at home, I know what his coat looks and feels like after a proper bath and blow dry. I do not believe he received one. Several other basic parts of the groom were also missed. His paw pads and sanitary area were not trimmed, his belly was left significantly longer than the rest of his body, and his head and face had not been trimmed despite my request for an even-length summer cut. I asked Joseph to trim his face before leaving, and Cash was returned about five minutes later. Joseph also told me he did not use a grooming table and said he had been hesitant to trim Cash's face because he was concerned about hurting him. He did not mention any behavior issues with Cash. I appreciate that Joseph returned later that afternoon after I raised my concerns and ultimately reduced the price by 50%. However, the original $200 price (plus $30 tip) was for a full professional groom, and that is not the service I received.
