My system never worked as designed. The other mechanics would keep my boats for weeks on end which prevented me from fishing. Took my boat to Southern Boatworks and had my boat ready in two days. Everything now works as intended. Unfortunate for me, they had to rewire my power cables and change various connections like the bus bar, fuses, ground wires to motor, etc. Not the cheapest repair but it was done right. In hindsight, this was a problem I caused by not taking it to someone who knows what they are doing. In addition, I had a problem with my trolling motor. Another Minn Kota "authorized service center" in Raleigh would only work on the trolling motor without the boat. I am too old to take all the devices (Megalive, Mega 360, target lock and hydrophone off) to say nothing about NOT being mechanically inclined. I think..... if I had taken my boat to these great people in the first place, I I would have saved a bunch of cash. I have learned my lesson and will take my boat to these professionals from now on. I highly recommend this company to others.

The mechanic working on it, who I've known for years, first tried adjusting the idling and did a full maintenance. That didn't fix the issue so I took it back to have the carburetor rebuilt. They told me it would be ready by the next time my family was coming up to the lake for the week (about two months from when I took it in). It wasn't. So we had no boat for the week. No reason given other than we haven't gotten to it yet. Then when it finally was finished, they call and tell me if I don't pick it up soon (a 4 hour round trip drive for me) they will start charging me a storage fee, even though it was their fault the boat wasn't ready on time for us to pick up and use it while we were there at the lake. When I did go and get it, it ran for an hour and then cut off. I had it towed back over there and the mechanic got it running and rode on the water with me to see what it was doing. Long story short, they couldn't fix the issue and I later sold the boat. Fast forward a couple of years later, when I try to take my new boat in for an oil change and maintenance, they tell me that I'm on "prepay" because I owe them $400 in "storage fees" for my old boat. When I explained what I describe above, the owner said that I can still bring it there and have maintenance done on a prepay basis, "if I'm that kind of person that doesn't pay his bills." As many years as I had my boat worked on there, and as I never complained about paying almost $1000 for these attempted repairs that never fixed the idling issue which ultimately forced me to sell my boat...for the owner of this business to refer to me as some kind of deadbeat takes a special kind of nerve.
