They were able to do everything requested - wash, dry, ear clean, nail trim and anal glands. I came back to a happy, non stressed dog! To give some context- - my dog hates nail trims where he yelps before you even start. They were able to do all nails - he doesn't mind ears touched but forget about cleaning - usually need 3 people to hold him for anal gland expressions- groomer (Jordan) said he didn't even make a peep Also they don't use muzzles! We loved All About the Dogs and got our puppy groomed there every 3 weeks for almost a year until they all of a sudden apparently left without telling customers...which from past reviews seems to be a trend..? When we went to take our dog for his regularly scheduled groom there was no one there, doors locked, shades down. I bring my dog here a lot for baths. I don't use the self wash because it's small inside and the dryers scare her. But we bring her here for nail trims and baths with the staff. My dog is a low maintenance breed (wirehaired pointing Griffon), meaning she doesn't need a lot of grooming. A shaggy coat with bangs in her eyes and a beard are how they should look. She's almost 10 months old and never needed a trim until recently when she got some matts in her beard. I was very nervous to get her groomed. I've seen so many pictures where this kind of dog has been over groomed - beard and bangs trimmed too much or shaved completely despite the owners request to not remove much. They did such a great job! They warned me ahead of time that they might need to shave the matts out, but would only shave what was necessary. My dog looked so good. They were able to comb out some matts and removed very little facial hair. I was so happy. In addition to doing a wonderful job with the grooming, the staff is always friendly. It's really hard to get an appointment here, but they squeezed me in once when she was very small and accidentally peed on herself. You don't need an appointment for a nail trim. I usually just drop my dog off, go across the street to Fox in the Snow for a coffee and then back across the street to pick her up. It's really convenient. read more

Friendly proficient staff, dog treats on hand, and a just down right amazing place. I have two dogs: a collie mix who was scared to get bathed and a terrier who was aggressive about her nails. All About The Dogs let me bring them in just for treats and walk out till they were ok with going in the door, then helped prepare my terrier in stages for nail clipping. From just setting her on the table and popping her a treat to mock clipping her nails to the actual thing. Now both dogs love going and we have zero issues with grooming. Though All About The Dogs is in my neighborhood, we'd avoided taking our mini-schnauzer here because of the mixed reviews. But, my concerns were totally unfounded! Fritz came home looking so handsome and happy, and I was very pleased with the value. We will definitely return. Sara greeted me at my appointment time, and as a new customer, asked me many questions about the temperament and preferences of my dog. I felt like they thought of everything-- whether treats were ok, how well he would get along with other dogs, etc. Their focus is on the comfort of the dog just as much as grooming. I was a little embarrassed of some of the mats in Fritz's fur when I brought him in, but Sara made me feel okay about that, too. She was happy to answer any questions for my comfort, as well. After about 3.5 hours (a little longer than the estimate), All About The Dogs called me for pickup. Fritz came home looking like a new dog! All the grooming looks very tidy, and pricing was significantly lower than the other location where we'd been having Fritz groomed. The staff works HARD. when I came in to pick him up, everyone was super busy and super focused. Though I was in plain sight, it took a long time for someone to acknowledge me and come over. I wasn't in a rush so that was fine, but a smile and "we'll be right with you" would've been helpful. Some dogs awaiting pickup were roaming around the floor, which I thought was awesome. (Fritz is sometimes a little snippy with other dogs, so he was appropriately in a kennel.) The human patron area is quite small, especially if others are there picking up and dropping off. At the moment, I have flexibility in timing to pick up Fritz, but I don't always. The other groomer we go to (further away and more expensive) also offers daycare, which would be a nice option. All About the Dogs is not that kind of place, nor could it be, really, with the size of the establishment. All About The Dogs also offers DIY a wash station, which is perfect with the proximity to the park and would be especially helpful if you have a particularly large dog. We can manage our 9-pound pup just fine at home for regular baths, but it's a nice feature that I will definitely recommend to others. read more

Finally! After searching thru various groomers in Columbus I found one who matched the skill of my dog's original groomer. On another review my dog got sliced and diced by a snotty groomer at the Dublin Petsmart (who's employees jumped on Yelp to write them nothing but positive reviews following my dog's incident) which inspired me to check for Safe local Groomers. The reviews and pictures by other customers, led me to choose "All About the Dogs". For my brief stay in Columbus we've gone here without incident. The only thing they do that's kind of annoying is rotating Groomers without notifying you. First time I set an appointment with the owner "Sarah", I arrived for my appointment to be informed that "Melody" would be Grooming my Pekingese. "Melody also said she could not trim his hair the way I liked but would do her best. I let "Melody" trim him a few times before I walked in to find out "Michelle" would be grooming my dog that day. I was lucky to get Michelle. She understood exactly how I wanted my dogs hair and the lack of concern most chain Groomers have. She talked me thru what she would do to get his fur to appear fluffy, and tools used to do it, shampoos, conditioners, dryers, brushes etc. She's very nice and relatable and is knowledgeable about various genetic conditions that may affect your dog. She's not a Vet but at least she knows and cares. Michelle also takes the time to get to know your dog's names and personality. Once I was late to pick up my Pekingese and Michelle wasn't irked, and actually stayed to talk to me about show breeds. The Grooming cost is just about the same as a Chain groomer but with more care for your pet and your dog will smell good for about 3 weeks, at least mine always did. They offer Anal Gland expressing service alone, for $10. When your dog is scratching his booty across the floor, it's not because he/she has worms. There's 2 glands in their bottom that release fluid everytime they defecate, that's unique to them and smells like a rotting seafood buffet. It's also what your dog goes for when they sniff each other's rumps to get information...(Neutered Male, ate Blue Buffalo dog food...and possibly bacon this morning....). When the glands are full they can release when your dog is scared say if you're in your car and suddenly brake. It sprays out automatically as a response to fear...then your car smells like Low Tide...happened to me twice...T_T so I learned not to forget Anal Gland expressing can be included in your grooming package or alone . They also use the "Pay cloud " reward system so you save $5 after so many services. I think they offer self-washing services for a fee? All About the Dog's has been good to us during our stay in Columbus but both of us were happy to kiss below freezing temps and the weekly Tornado warning goodbye in favor of returning to California. While in town to visit my brother at OSU, my husband I and decided to take our dog to the dogpark a short walk from where we were staying near the Brewery District. Beautiful day, great park, what could go wrong? Right? Everything was going smoothly until our pooch decided to mud wrestle in the biggest, muddiest puddle I've ever seen. I swear, it's the dirtiest he's ever been in such a short span of time. There was NO WAY we could bring him into the hotel looking like that without some heavy duty room charges (damn you, pet waiver). So, we were exceptionally relieved when the owner of the dog our pooch was mud wrestling with told us about the self serve dog wash not to far away. For $14 we were able to wash our muddy puppy and restore some level of cleanliness to our lives. All About Dogs provides aprons, towels and several choices of shampoo for a DIY doggie bath session. The leash to keep your dog from wandering away is great and all of the soap that you need is right there for you to use. I recently adopted a dog who has anxiety issues. I was a little nervous to bring him to the groomers for the first time because of his attitude towards new people.... He is great with people at home but even with a lot of socialization Jack tends to panic when not in his safe place. Sara recommended that we come in as the last appointment so she could get to know Jack and so he wouldn't be overwhelmed by the noise of other dogs being groomed at the same time. When we got there she spent time playing with him and feeding him treats to make him feel comfortable. She went above and beyond cutting his hair. During the appointment she even texted me to tell me that he was doing great and not to be worried. When I picked him up they were playing fetch again. This place is awesome! I took my 30 LB yellow lab/beagle mix here about a month ago for his first ever groomers experience (he turns a year next month and I would normally bathe him myself at home). I was nervous since he had never been to the groomers before and was scared he would freak out, since he normally does when I put him in our bathtub. When we got there, a man who I presume to be either the main groomer or the owner-I could be mistaken- greeted us and explained to me the process: He would be getting a bath, an anti-shedding treatment, his nails clipped, his ears cleaned, and his teeth brushed. He gave me a timeframe of 2-4 hours and said he would give me a call 15-20 minutes before my pooch was done. Reluctantly, I handed over the leash and left. 3 hours later I went to go pick up bubs and he looked awesome! They even gave him an adorable disney bandana. The same gentleman as before told me he was incredibly well-behaved and on top of that, the entire service only cost me 25 dollars! The staff is great with dogs and very personable, their prices are extremely affordable, and my dog was one happy, not smelly and less sheddy little camper. I am not sure if they price according to weight or if those are set prices, I didn't think to ask. But honestly, check these guys out. They are great at what they do. read more
