I really enjoyed that she didn't lock up the animals, and let them run around if they were currently being groomed, and she was always so flexible about trimming my dogs nails because he was too scared to let me do it. Then all the sudden, she stopped responding to me. She wouldn't answer my calls or texts. I never had a bad interaction, I always tip and tip well. Literally no explanation, just a cold cut off. It'd been a while, so I decided recently to try to reach back out. Same old Mona, no response, and no call back. I never gave her a bad review as I was hoping to eventually start using her again, but its pretty obvious that she's intentionally cutting me out. read more

First and only time one of my dogs will go here. When I called to discuss the gift certificate/coupon I had, I was told there would be no cost for the visit since I had this gift certificate/coupon. When I arrived to pick up my dog I was then told it's $40. I told the woman at the counter what I told on the phone, and her response was staff wouldn't have told you that... It's not the customers problem if staff or whoever answers the phone doesn't know or couldn't clearly explain the business's pricing/coupon policy. Also, there isn't a posted services - price list, so how are customers supposed to know what the services offered are?? This is the second time I brought my baby here for grooming. The first time was great, however, I found two big scares on my dog's neck after the second time that I brought her here. As noted by other reviewers, Mona was very accommodating in squeezing in my dog for a same-day grooming appointment. Because she had a full schedule and would be squeezing my dog in throughout the afternoon, she warned me that it would be longer than the usual 3 to 4 hours. She told me she would call me when she was 20 minutes away from being done with my dog, but she was unable to tell me exactly how long it would take (It was closer to 6 hours). Given that no other groomers I contacted provide same day service, I feel this is a fair trade for being squeezed in on a busy day. So for those who are being squeezed into her schedule last minute, be aware that you will have to be flexible in return with your own schedule. When I arrived at the shop, there was a lot going on. For the easy-to-get-along-with canines, Mona allows the dogs to hang out with her in the same room as she grooms others. I was a little apprehensive about leaving my dog in a place that was strange to her, but my uneasy feelings were quickly appeased when I saw the demeanor of the dogs (and cat) that were in the shop. When I picked my dog up later that day, she was SUPER HAPPY and seemed to have bonded with Mona and her crew very nicely. With regards to the hair cut, Mona did a fantastic job. My dog looked great, and the price for her services was the best I've come across in the city. Mona is a very skilled groomer, and her warm personality made me feel comfortable with her right away. I have given Mona's Pet Salon 5 stars because of the value of her services given her exceptional skills as a groomer. However... because of how busy the shop is, the space is a little cluttered and may not be fancy enough for some. But Mona works her butt off in there every day, takes great care of her clients, and is truly gifted as a "pet stylist". I just recently moved to the area and started looking for a new groomer for my Australian Shepard. I saw that Mona had good reviews so I decided to try it. She was very accommodating to fit my dog in her busy schedule. I took her at 2 in the afternoon and there were two other dogs in there too. I'm always nervous taking my dog to a new place because she is very skittish but she did great with her and the other dogs in there. Mona texted me 20 mins before my dog was done which was great timing for me to get there. I picked her up and she looked so happy and cute when I walked in. Overall I am very pleased with her haircut and she smelled great! I've never been truly satisfied with how she's been groomed previously because they haven't taken enough off of her shaggy coat but this time she looked great! Great first time experience!! Yesterday I took my 11mo old australian shepherd, Raja to get a full service groom at Mona's. We have never been to a groomer before and wasn't sure what to expect. Mona talked me through what kind of cut I wanted as I had no real idea what to ask for. She also was great at making Raja comfortable with her before taking her back, she is pretty hesitant with strangers and has a little bit of seperation anxiety. When I came back to get her she was a very happy pup. I was nervous about getting her groomed and how it might change her appearance but she looked muuch better than I had hoped for. I really feel that every detail was paid close attention to from her face, ears and her nails and the hair around her paws. Raja looks perfect and smells amazing ! Mona did a great job. At first, when we were looking for grooming salons for our 7 month old, 10 pound Maltese named Mango, I wasn't sure if there would be a place that would accept same day appointments. But lo and behold, I came across Mona's Pet Salon! I had called at least 5 grooming salons and while some calls went straight to voicemail, others who picked up had said their earliest date would be next week or even next month. However, Mona had quickly picked up and offered an appointment within just 3 hours of my call! We arrived promptly at 2pm for our appointment and being our Mango's first professional grooming, we were quite anxious about how he would handle it. We actually wanted to be there for the duration of his grooming just to make sure that everything was okay but Mona reassured us that Mango would be fine and that it might actually make him more anxious if he saw us there during his grooming. We were initially told it would take about 3 hours for the grooming to be complete and that we would receive a 20 minute early notification to come pick him up. When more than 3 hours had passed without a notification we were a bit worried and I had called just to make sure everything was okay with Mango. When I called she had promptly picked up and kept us updated with the status of his bath and drying and notified us that she was about to start the hair cutting process. When we came back to pick up Mango, there was a huge dog that barked quite loudly and had startled us! But when we saw a tiny dog walking up right next to him, we then realized he was just protecting his new buddy Mango! We love the bandana that Mona had dressed Mango with and the matted fur that had around his neck which came about from using his harness while walking him was all gone! While it did take just a little longer than we expected, we are very impressed with Mona's professionalism and grooming skills as our Mango looks amazing! He looked genuinely satisfied with his first haircut and is happily chewing on his toy as I am typing this review. Thank you very much Mona and we will definitely be coming back! read more

My pup was in desperate need of a good haircut. I had heard through the grape vine that Mona was the best, and I found this to be true. Reservation for grooming appointment easy and done over the phone. Mona was also flexible when I called a second time to change the time of the appointment. I appreciate that flexibility. Time was taken to ensure I got exactly what I wanted, and I felt very comfortable leaving my fur baby with her. What sets Mona apart from other groomers is how comfortable and calm my dog looked when I picked her up. She didn't even move from her comfy spot in the grooming room when I entered the salon, she was that much at home. Cut was great and price cannot be beat. 65 dollars for full service cut. So glad we found Mona! I have a rescue Bichon-Poodle mix who has always been extremely anxious about grooming. With the previous 3 groomers we tried, Max would always be very stressed when I came to pick him up. I came to dread having him groomed because I felt like I was torturing him. Not here! Mona and her staff are so patient with Max and really understand him. He's just a sweet boy with a little anxiety. I have been going to Mona's for over 3 years now and she has taken such a good care of our mini poodle mix. He warmed up to her quickly, and has always been so excited to hang out when I drop him off. The haircut is always great. At the beginning, Mona was so keen to find the right cut (trim the hair on the ears shorter, more length here, less length there etc...). I was especially pleased with Mona's willingness to accommodate our dog's sensitive skin so he didn't come home with razor burns. Mona is so knowledgeable and you can tell how dedicated and serious she is to her job! Scheduling is also easy, and I really appreciate that I get a heads up before the haircut is done. Mona did a fabulous job on Oscar, he's a terrier mix. You can tell she loves what she does because she's so great at it it.

Mona is the best there is. She's flexible with appointments and very personable. I have a rough coat collie with a lot of hair and Mona makes her look fabulous. She offers a full cut or just a trim at a lower rate so I rotate between the two. I have had average experiences with neighboring groomers and none are as good as her. read more

We have had our dog groomed here twice before and each time Mona did a good job. This last time was not a good experience. The time it takes to complete a grooming was quoted at 3-4 hours. We've known this in the past, however, we still feel that is a lot of time to groom a dog. I came in after 4 hours and 15 minutes to our dog sitting out and still not cut or trimmed. I waited 5 minutes before anyone realized I was there and when I asked how much longer it would be, I was told another 30-45 minutes. This would put the total amount of time at about 5 hours. When I returned, our dog's face was trimmed, elsewhere was barely trimmed... about the same length as he was when we first got there. In our past experiences with Mona we have always had him groomed shorter, Mona deflected to other groomings in different places. Mona offered to cut him shorter or have us come back to get it cut shorter and gave a discount for the next grooming. But I do not have the time to come back a third time to have something completed when it should have been done correctly the first time in the time allotted. Going on 5-7 hours (not including drive time to, around and from) to do a 2 hour job is unsatisfactory. We appreciate her offering to correct the problem and offer a discount for our next visit. We do not have the time to travel back and forth, let alone wait this long for a grooming. read more
