Went to elemental for about a decade for my dogs and it's gotten pretty bad over the last couple years. Dr Flores has been relatively competent but the rest of the staff is a mess. The breaking point was when they swapped sold me a prescription that was 2x the potency for an Rx and didn't tell me I that they didn't have in stock the lower dose. They didn't mention it at the time and the pills looked exactly the same. The tech, Jen who I spoke to about it after I found out. stated "can't you read a label?@ and hung up on me when I communicated my concern and asked for the implications to my dog. I called back and the receptionist said Dr Flores would call me... she never did. This seems to be just part of the downward slide of this clinic. They commonly ask you to drop or pick something up whenever during office hours and the door is locked with no one around when you show up. If you you use an online pharmacy like chewy they'll take weeks to approve the medication that they recommended. If they say the doctor will call you about something that will happen maybe 1/3 of the time. It was a great vet clinic a while ago, now it's a dumpster fire. There are a lot of wonderful vets around this area, don't risk your pets health with elemental. read more

There is not enough positive words I can say about this place. I took my beloved pet here several times when he got sick. From the front desk to every team member involved, they showed my dog and myself nothing but care, professionalism, love. I was devastated to have to eventually put my dog down. They gave me a wonderful option to come later with less people, I was given as much time as I needed with him and they were all so understanding. I really appreciate everyone here going above and beyond on one of my hardest moments in life. Several days later I received a very sweet card from the team with all of them leaving a little message and signing it. That meant the world to me! I highly recommend Elemental. We brought our dog Gunther in fir a nail trim this morning..they cut him to the quick and 3 hours later he is still bleeding..plus thwy charged us 33 dollars (normally its like 20 dollars). .they could have told me beforehand hand that it was going to cost more..plus our Gunther was medicated 2 hours before the nail trim with medication i bought from Elemental last week..if your staff cant do nails properly then dont do them period..ive been a customer at Elemental for over 10 years now and its obvious theyve gotten worse..ive had it and will look elsewhere from now on..meanwhile i am still trying to stop the bleeding on my poor dog Gunther. read more

I rarely give bad reviews and always give the benefit of the doubt, but after two years of experiencing the most careless and disorganized service, we're going to go elsewhere. They randomly close for the whole day or early whenever they want, typically without notice. I needed my dogs medicine two days ago, but they closed for no reason and didn't bother to mention it on their outdated voicemail, but instead put a note on the door. Then they refilled the medicine this morning and said I could pick it up today any time before 7pm. We got there at 6:40pm and the lights were off and the door was locked. No note on the door. This has happened more times than I can count. They never return voicemails or requests for refills. Not long ago they accidentally prescribed my dog a toxic dosage of Tramadol (a pain killer) instead of Trazadone (an anti-anxiolytic). If I hadn't noticed that the pill looked different than usual, my dog likely would have suffered serious consequences. It's a shame, because the actual vet and vet techs seem pretty great, but the business as a whole is a hot mess and completely intolerable. If you need reliable veterinary care, go elsewhere. If you need grooming and are ok with the dysfunctional office that may screw up your prescriptions, never call you back, mess up your records, randomly close, and is unable to schedule a visit within a decent timeframe, then give it a go. read more

I have been taking my poodle mix puppy to Elemental Veterinary Center for about 2 months now. Overall, I have had an excellent experience with the vets and staff here! As the other reviews mention, not only are the prices affordable, but they genuinely care for your pup! They have a parking lot behind the building and finding a non-reserved spot can be tricky, but I have never had an issue. The facility is clean and well-kept. The only reason I took a star away is that it can be pretty difficult to get through when I call. I usually have to leave a voicemail and play a bit of phone tag to get what I need. They also have an email address, but I have not always received a response from them. I had my pup groomed there as well, and I cannot express the amazing job they did for the price! A bit of a backstory before i leave my review. A time ago, i had the most loyal dog that ever blessed mankind. We were inseparable. When he passed away, i wept like never before, and vowed to never have another 4 legged member of the family. Flash forward to 2019, my daughter wanted a hamster, i was not ok with it. As we walked out of the store, scott, began to act like my boy smokie, affectionate, loyal, and very cute. A few days ago, we noticed a growth on him and became worried. We secured an appt. here and took him in. Upon examination, they discovered a small hole near the growth, and given his age, we were left with a couple options. Euthanasia or surgery ( the latter may not turn out as intended, or he may not survive the anesthesia). After considerable amount of crying and sadness, we chose to euthanize to save him the chance of suffering. The staff was very reassuring and gave our daughter both outcomes. Clean, friendly, highly courteous. If we ever get another 4 legged member to our family, we will definitely make this our vet. Thank you for your patience yesterday. Let me preface this....the groomer Valerie is AMAZING! HOWEVER, the front staff (jackson) is absolutely awful, unprofessional, and rude! I posted a very long lengthy review on google review so if you want the full story, please go there! To follow up however, I called today because dr Flores was supposed to call yesterday to discuss the issue. I never got a call. So I called today to follow up. Jackson said the dr was not available & asked if I wanted to leave a message. I gave him my name & number & his response was..."that sounds like a fake number, ha, ha, ha". And he hung up! I took my adult Persian cat to this groomer for the first time. When I picked her up, she was already in her carrier, and everything seemed fine. After I got home and let her out, I noticed a cut near her elbow area. It was a fairly large cut and bloody. I understand that accidents can happen, especially if my cat decides not to cooperate; however, I hope the groomer noticed the wound and treated it. Also, I wish the groomer would've made me aware, so I didn't have to find out after I got home. Besides the wound, the groomer did a great job, but let me be clear - if this business is as reputable as past reviews suggest, I expect them to reach out, and address what I've disOtherwise, I will not go back, and cannot recommend this business to others. Update: after telling the vet about my cat's cut from groomer, they offer to treat her on the same day. Now my cat is recovering alright. Just the worst front desk staff, just annoying to deal with and can never get you in that week even with a sick pet. Grooming is over 6 weeks out and I kept saying I would never go back but after needing to get in a second time for a vaccine they didn't have the first time and waiting an hour I just left. The staff was obnoxious about it and even called me after I left to tell me not to come back when I asked for records so I could go somewhere else. Elemental is hands down the best place to take your pet. My dog has a lot of anxiety based aggression and they are always very gentle and caring with him. We just had a dental clean and a wart removal which I was very nervous about. They did a fantastic job and walked me through the whole process. If you're looking for a wonderful vet who leans on the holistic side Flores is the girl for you. I have a houseful of family pets and occasionally fosters and I bring them all to Elemental veterinary center for their vet care. Flores and her team have made it very clear over my years of going to them that they care. They've shown me that for every visit by taking their time with me and explaining things in a way I understand. I try to keep up on studies done on animal wellness. Weather it be nutrition or best age to spay/neuter. Whenever I have gone to elemental after a long study session I'm always thrilled to find that the staff was always 3 steps ahead of me. I have never left their office without new and exciting information on ways to keep my family healthy and happy. I have had two animals go into surgery at elemental. My German shepherd Rae went in for her spay and Gastropexy. Not only did Flores call my multiple times checking on Rae's progress. She also talked me through the process before it happened and gave us the option to do a blood panel while she was under anesthesia. And the other pet that went into surgery was with an exotics vet that no longer practices at elemental but he had the same attitude as the rest of their staff. He neutered my pet Rat Wallace. Again he talked me through everything! What medication does, how I need to help my rat during recovery, how I can remove his "rat straight jacket" when the healing process is done or I can bring him in and they will do it. With both of these (to me scary) surgeries I was kept in the loop of my pets care. They didn't do anything unnecessary without my permission. But that's not all I recently lost my dog of ten years, Scout. We brought her in for euthanasia due to neurological issues. The staff was so caring and quiet while we spent our final moments with her. Gabe let us control the process of when it was time. While it was unbearably sad to see her go it was still comforting to know exactly how things would happen. We even played ball with her in the office while her sedative kicked in. Overall Elemental veterinary center is the place to be if you want informed, caring, and easygoing staff. I have nothing but glowing things to say about them. read more

This was by far the worst experience I've ever had at a vet. The first thing I was asked upon arrival was if I regretted getting my puppy. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and give them another chance, but at the next appointment they asked me if my puppy (who was running around the room) had died. Their record keeping is also a disaster -- I asked for a copy of the vaccines my pup had received and they said they "couldn't remember" if they had given her one of the ones I asked for. The level of unprofessionalism was absurd and I cannot believe this place is still in business. Avoid at all costs. read more

I can't say enough good things about this place - today we had a terrifying experience and our beloved Jack Russell was attacked by a Pit Bull. Previously, we had only taken our baby to Elemental for grooming services (which are awesome and very affordable). They are just down the street from our home so we dashed down as quickly as possible, very upset and shaken from what had just happened. The staff was amazing and Dr. Flores was with us in under a minute of us walking into the building. She was kind and gentle with him, gave him a shot to relax him and quickly cleaned him up. The nurse gave Harley some peanut butter which made him happy and distracted him from what was going on. We were given 3 prescriptions, instructions for taking care of him and sent on our way. I was so pleasantly surprised at how quickly we were treated, given what we needed and sent home so the dog could rest comfortably. We also managed to make it out of there for under $100 which was SUCH a pleasant surprise. The woman who usually grooms Harley even came in to see if he was ok and stayed with us in the exam room. I had THE BEST experience here today! First of all the place is so nice! My pomchi has never been groomed before so I had no idea what he needed/ what needed to be done. Valerie, the groomer, personally called me to discuss what my preferences were and ended up giving me her advice, again, I had no idea! I could just tell she really has a passion for what she does and really knows what she's doing. Being a Pomeranian chihuahua mix my dog has a bit of an attitude but she loved him! He looked absolutely fabulous, perfect cut and in such a good mood when I picked him up. Everyone there really seems to care about the animals brought in and that made me feel at ease leaving him there. Not to mention the price was $20 LESS than anywhere else I called. My dog is terrified of the vet. The one we had been seeing previously was really freaking him out as well--super loud and obnoxious and telling me that my dog's fear was going to drive him to terrorize children or rob 7-11's or whatever. I had enough of this vet, so I took him to Elemental for his check-up this time. It is fantastic. The staff is very understanding and gentle and everything went very smoothly. Is it possible for a dog to be both a bit nervous and very excited to see the vet? Several months ago a new, prone to motion sickness, puppy arrived in my life from out of state and I set out looking for a vet here in the Columbus area. Dr. Flores and Elemental offer a fabulous location, spotless office space, and a staff that my now six month old puppy loves. I've made a few visits with the dog to say hi, treat some GI issues, and most recently to have the puppy spayed. The process was easy, staff incredibly understanding of my first-time dog owner jitters, and has been there via phone to answer questions as they arise and to provide suggestions for treatment/care. Dr. Flores is amazing. She is not only the friendliest doctor but recently was able to take time out of her busy schedule to help my really sick French Bulldog. She called me and left me a voicemail while I was at work explaining everything and asked for my permission before doing blood tests and an X-ray to confirm he had pneumonia. They allowed me to bring my dog in before I went to work and I saved money by going to see Dr. Flores and not MedVet or OSU ER. I just really appreciate everything she has done for me and so happy to say the my French Bulldog is starting to feel much better. The staff responded to my emails and answered all of my questions thoroughly which is important when you're worried about your sick pup. DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANXIOUS OR NERVOUS PETS HERE. I took my dog here this afternoon and we had trouble getting him in the room for his nail trim, which is normal for him so I didn't think much of it. Then the rude receptionist brings him back out to me explaining how terrible he was and how he pooped and peed all over them and they had to FLIP HIM ON HIS SIDE and stomp on the leash to finish doing his nails. They should have stopped what they were doing when he was clearly extremely stressed and POOPING AND PEEING ON HIMSELF and brought him back out to me, IMMEDIATELY. I have a hard time with him already because of his anxiety I didn't need them traumatizing him. I then had to pay the 30 dollars for the shitty nail job and DIY bath I HAD to give him because of the mess on him. I should not have paid it at all but I just needed to get him home. I'm so thrilled that Elemental is here! I have had both of my dogs groomed here twice and one dog has been in for a visit to the vet. First, the place is so clean and inviting! We had been going to CarePet clinic and that place is so gross and depressing- it was really refreshing to walk in to such a nice environment for both my pets and myself! All of the staff always dotes over both of my dogs which is much appreciated. I feel comfortable leaving my spoiled rotten dogs with folks that obviously have a passion for animals. The grooming is so FAST and they do a great job! I am used to having the grooming time be around 4 hours for the two of them, but here they get it done in about 2 hours. Something that absolutely blew my mind on our last visit for a grooming was that the groomer discovered that my dog had a small skin infection, showed it to the vet who looked at it and wrote a prescription and they had everything waiting for me when I picked her up. That may not seem like a huge deal, but to me, to have a vet there who is willing to take a look at any issues that come up during a groom and then not even charge anything extra for that service is incredible! As far as our vet visit was concerned, everything went great. We got right in at the time that we were scheduled for (that has never happened at any other vet) which was great because my dog, like many others, gets really nervous at the vet. All of the staff was very sweet to her and the vet took the time to really listen to the issues we were having and clearly explained everything. I LOVE this place! Six stars! read more

When I adopted my puppy we came here for vaccinations up through 6 or 7 months. They know how to give shots and like to see your pet. Friendly enough I never had a reason to stop coming. However... Do they genuinely care about your pet? No. At 9 months, my puppy has developed a stomach bug that isn't responding to a chicken and rice diet. I've spoken with Elemental twice this week trying to get her an appointment for this. They can't see her for A WEEK. I guess they like making money and booking so many patients they can't even afford to set aside a few time slots for patients who come regularly when those patients become sick and are in need of care. A few days, I guess, but seriously? Can't get her in to drop off a stool sample for a week?!? They were condescending and asked us why we didn't just want to take her to an ER if we wanted her checked out sooner. Well, because: this issue isn't an ER issue, ER costs significantly more, and most importantly--because why would I even have a vet if I wanted to just take my pet to an ER all the time? Would you decide against finding a pediatrician for your new child since ERs exist? No. You would want a provider who knew and could at least pretend to give a shit about your child. Groomer review: brought pup once for a nail trim. The woman required myself AND my larger male friend to both restrain a 5 month old puppy, whom she had muzzled, on the floor, while she attempted to clip her nails. Not only was this horribly traumatizing and scary for my dog (so awful I had tears starting by the end of it) and a long process, but the groomer cut 2 nails too short, perpetuating the need for us to bring her to professionals to get her nails done. Groomer only tried to apply syptic powder to one of the nails she injured. We had to stop bleeding ourselves at home. I am dumbfounded by how the groomer acted like this was a normal experience. What did she think she did to deserve my money? My friend and I could have tortured my pet the same way at home and probably not cut her nails too short. Other people rave, so IDK....She must be OK sometimes. Maybe the groomer was high this day? Not sure what else could explain it? We now go to EMI pet for her nails and they use the normal/correct method (tethering my dog to a table and calmly clipping her nails). Another veterinary practice scheduled my puppy for the day after we called. We will be going there from now on. read more

Oh Ok no worries I'll make one out of construction paper because this place needs more than 5 stars. Let's talk front desk, boom, immediately welcomed, same girls, love what they do and get you scheduled in however you need to. How pleasant is it when you don't have to argue with someone on the phone just for initial scheduling? Big points already. So I come to my appointment and I look around. This is THE cleanest most pristine and stylish office I have been in (is that maybe lavender I smell from the essential oil diffuser in the lobby? Or the fact they they clean like freaks, leaving this place delightful and spotless and void of any "dog" smell. Speaking of dog; if mine wasn't being a moron, you may have stepped somewhere else. Silence except for the soothing spa music playing. Which reminds me a pedicure tomorrow would be nice...I digress. Ok enough frou frou let's cut to the chase: Dr. Flores is league of the Avengers worthy as a veterinarian and I say that truthfully, not just for cinematic effect. We almost lost our baby girl Saint due to the gross ineptitude of a (dare I even use the term "vet"? Butcher is more appropriate. And to this day we do not know what this "butcher" had done that almost took Our Saint's life. We have barely recovered physical, financially or emotionally from the disaster , but there was light at the end of the tunnel: Dr. Flores. Her office was within walking proximity to where I was living at the time so I decided to take my saint to see her to have her stitches removed as I had promised myself, and Riley I would never enter that other veterinary office ever again.!! That was the best decision I could have ever made and it's actually our English Bulldog that has benefited the most. Poor guy I think just makes up things at this point to see his "girlfriend" Dr. Flores. She is particularly familiar with all the crazy quirks and weird health problems that Bulldogs come with so I would trust her with his life, and that is saying some thing from a woman who previously had one of the most horrific experience with a vet that will remain unnamed in the Grandview area. Dr. Flores is thorough, she has the old House call mentality. She never double books her patients, and I have never had to wait. She is so pleasant and always ready to offer easy advise for the animals and her solutions are always effective. She is kind and intelligent vet, everything she does or prescribes is with a purpose And she does so in a very fair way. You will never be taken advantage financially by her company. Dr. Flores is one of the very rare gemstone of a Vet that is actually in it FOR welfare of the animals. I would publicly stake my reputation on encouraging you to go and visit her. She is the best thing for you and your pet. My heart literally broke when my poor Riley almost died at the hands of a Dr, after meeting doctor Flores , I will never have that fear again. I would very literally ask her to fly out to Seattle (we are moving) in case we had some life threatening procedure that needed done with the dogs. That all being said, its also a fun relaxed atmosphere. If you're busy they let you drop off in The morning and then pick up after your work so long as they are open and that is at no extra charge. It feels a bit odd to write a review so soon after losing a beloved family member. However, it is the care that was given and the concern that followed, which makes me write this today. Our 16 year old cat, Amadeus, had come to the end of his life and we knew the dreaded time was near. We made an appointment to bring him in knowing that this may be his last day with us. We were given all of our options that day...and never felt rushed during our decision making. In our hearts we knew he was extremely ill, and we had to set aside our selfishness. We ultimately made the difficult decision to let him go. The staff here was absolutely wonderful throughout this entire process. We even received a sympathy card soon afterwards with multiple hand written notes from their staff. In addition to Amadeus we've also had our three dogs here, two of which are puppy mill rescues. The rescue dogs have been quite fearful of people, so we knew a trip to the vet would be no easy feat. To our surprise it wasn't as bad as anticipated. They actually both did very well during their visit. I solely credit the staff at Elemental for this. We always feel as if we receive their full attention when there, and we never feel rushed. They explain everything to you, never requiring you to leave with questions or wondering about anything. Their passion and genuine care in healing and helping is evident within their work. It was honestly very random that we stumbled upon them. Not too long ago we started a conversation with a woman walking her dog at Goodale Park. She highly recommended this vet so we researched them a bit more after returning home. Living in Victorian Village, it seemed to be a good option for us as we were previously traveling to Gahanna for our vet services. This place is wonderful and we cannot give enough accolades to their staff. We are so very thankful to have found them...and will recommend their services whenever possible. I just moved to Columbus a little over a month ago and didn't know where to find a good groomer for my dog so Yelp led me to this business. I'm really glad it did! I called on a Saturday and was able to get an appointment the same day because the business is new and they are building up a client base now. I was able to park right in front of the building and was greeted by very welcoming staff. You could tell they were real animal lovers because they started playing with my dog as soon as I walked in and while I took care of the paperwork. When I came to pick him up around two hours later I was so happy to see what a great job the groomer did. She is fantastic! The price for a full groom (haircut, bath, nail trim, anal gland expression and ear cleaning) was $55 but I bought the Yelp deal where you pay $20 and get $40 in services so it ended up costing just $35! I am very pleased with their service and might even bring my dog around to see the vet they have on staff for his annual check up. I highly recommend this place for your pet! read more

I brought my cat to Elemental for grooming services. The staff was very friendly, the atmosphere was nice, and parking was easy. However, we will not be back. When I called to schedule the appointment, 10 AM was the time that I was told. When I received the confirmation e-mail (see below), it seemed to indicate that I had appointments at both 10 and 12: Elemental Veterinary Center and Pet Spa 1250 N. When I dropped him off at 10, I was told that there was one animal ahead of him and that they would call me when he was ready. At 2 pm, I was starting to get concerned so I called to ask if he was done. They then told me that his appointment was not until 12 so they had just finished with him. I was also told that they had informed me that the appointment was at 12 when I dropped him off- definitely not the case. Had I been told that, I would have brought him back later rather than have him sit in a cage for 2 hours. Yes, it was a clerical oversight which may seem minor to some but given that it is also a veterinary clinic, I would expect better organization. If they were a new business I would understand but they have been open for a while and should have the bugs worked out by now. They also cut several of his whiskers and there is a small abrasion on his belly. With the $20 for $40 Yelp deal, it cost an additional $35- pretty expensive without the coupon. read more

Cannot recommend Elemental and Dr. Flores enough. Absolutely the best vet in Columbus. Compassionate, funny, incredibly competent, and won't gauge you for every penny like other vets in the area. The center itself is like nirvana. More like a people spa then a place for animals. Smells like heaven. Valerie the groomer is also simply the best. I referred several people to Dr. Flores, and they were all beyond thrilled after not so great experiences elsewhere. read more

Took my dog there for her first groomer's appointment. The staffs were nice when I dropped her off but never thought about telling me that my dog's was injured during the appointment when I went to pick her up. She got severe retinal bleeding which covered her entire retina!Took her to the vet and was diagnosed with trauma! Sooo disappointed! Would never take my girl there again! read more
