My house had 3 layers of shingle going back to 1941 that needed to be demoed (meant adding the additional slats, plywood, moisture barrier, drip edge flashing, any vents, HVAC flashing sealant etc.) so it was a big re-roof. But they nailed it (no pun intended)! Connor always responds and always answers any questions right away. They even removed and re-attached my gutters and cleaned them! Contacted Copp to have a small residential roofing repair done. The wind blew off shingles on the…read moregarage in an area about 4 feet by 6 feet. Copp gave an estimate based on pictures that I sent the estimator. The estimate came back at $1100. I agreed to the estimate, expecting that the invoice would reflect actual time and materials. The roofer was able to access the repair area by ladder to an adjacent roof area. He did not need to climb or use a safety tether. He used a partial bundle of shingles to accomplish the repair in under one hour. The repair appears to be competently done. Copp invoiced me for the full original estimate. The Copp office is about 30 minutes from the repair site. Time on site and travel time would be between 2 and 3 hours. If billing were done at $200 per hour, time would be between $400 and $600. A bundle of shingles retails for $50. I believe that I have been substantially overcharged. I would have done the repair myself 15 years ago at age 60, or if it was summer, not winter. Finally, the office staff and roofer all were pleasant. My complaint is solely that I believe I have been overcharged.

Dan Kinslow and team did a great job with some home improvements in our Lake Arrowhead house. They…read morejacked up and stabilized our decks, which were slanting due erosion at the footings. They also opened up two doorways between our living room and dining room which gave a much more open floorplan vibe to the house, and allowed us to take better advantage of our great views. They updated a window in our primary bedroom and put a half lite door in a guest bedroom -- both of which let in much more light and access to the views. Dan is savvy about building and trustworthy. Junior and Tony do solid work, they're personable and respectful. Overall we're very pleased with the results and the cost was reasonable. We hired Dan and his crew to remove the deteriorated plywood floor of our build up (aka basement…read morearea) and level out the dirt on the unused side to make it one large usable room. He poured retaining walls, shored up structural beams, and poured the concrete floor. They did a fabulous job. The build up now looks like a finished room. The concrete is so smooth and flawless. He was always checking on the site to make sure things were running smooth and always available for questions. He kept me in the loop of each step of the process, which I really appreciated. Don Souza was a life saver for us. In October of 2017 we…read morehad contracted with another construction company to add a 700 square foot addition to a cabin in Big Bear, California. We should have recognized a potential problem right off the bat after we signed a contract and we were not getting the OK for the building permits. In February of 2019, the contractor told me to call the county myself. In 24 hours after that call, we had our permits.This was just the start. The contractor completely cut corners in the construction, did not follow the architectural plans, and did not show up for the project for months at a time and finally just abandoned the project. After interviewing different contractors, we hired Don Souza to completely remediate everything from framing,plumbing, heating, roofing etc. He was awesome and completely brought everything back to code and gave us the cabin of our dreams and what we had initially contracted for and more.
