All American did a great install for me a while back for a 22k which I bought through Lowes. I just had them in for a maintenance service, which also cleared up a warranty issue. They were prompt, thorough, and completed the job efficiently. The generator and switching is great and I've avoided the nuisance of outages. The negative, to me, is that the services are expensive from all the authorized service companies. Generac basically has you over a barrel as without the services, the warranty is void. Mine was $700+ which included a new battery (185). For a task that took about an hour, I think the base rate is high. I compared another company's price and it netted out comparably. read more

Our Generac generator would not start. We contacted AAGS and the service technician complained excessively that there was not three feet of space around the entire generator. I did not install the generator in 2009, but there is a panel of the fence that can be removed to access both sides of the generator. They did some "diagnostic" tests and told us that the battery had to be replaced. The initial diagnostic service call costs $350 and they would change an additional $850 to install the new battery. I declined. I removed the old battery myself and took it to Autozone. They tested the battery and it was fully charged and normal. I reinstalled the battery and it started easily. I have now installed a small trickle charger ($17 on Amazon) to keep the battery fully charged. Do not trust these guys! read more

I called a lady named Rosa several times to issue me a credit. She never called me back and I had to dispute the charges with my credit card company. I did considerable research before selecting which whole house generator company I would trust to provide the generator and do a complete and safe installation. There are choices out there, but I'm glad I ultimately selected All American to do the job. Experience, customer focus, and responsiveness varies considerably across the choices. I won't throw stones at the competitors by name, but how each company works with having in-house or subcontractors for the installation has a considerable impact on the outcome. The bottom line is that my installation occurred on the promised schedule date, with the correct equipment, and completed in a single day. Don't be fooled. An effective whole house generator system is NOT inexpensive, but beware cost cutting compromises, as they may ultimately cause you downstream headaches. We have a 3651 sq. ft. home with two 4.5 ton A/C units, an electric oven, and innumerable other electrical loads, but with the installed 24KW system, a test run showed it was capable of delivering sufficient current to run both A/Cs and the oven along with whatever other items (refrigerators, etc.) happened to be on at the time. Also, with the load management system capability, the system cam preferentially operate the A/C units so other demands in the house can be met and then return both the units to cooling when the load demands are reduced. It was a pleasure to see the technicians working professionally and efficiently, including a plumbing subcontractor, and they left the job site clean at the end of the day. We haven't yet had a power outage yet to really test the system capabilities over an extended period, but I feel we are ready for whatever SCE power shut offs or other problems interrupt our electrical service. Beats dragging cables and trying to keep a portable generator fueled and operating properly during an outage! I'll drop an update to this review after some real world experience! All-American, especially Devin and Stephanie, were friendly, responsive, and very professional both in their help in defining our needs and the installation of the generator, gas line, propane tank, transfer box. We just experience the first self-test of the generator which went off without a hitch. I love this company! We did our due diligence and looked at other companies and once we found All American, we finally felt we could trust making this investment. The young man that came for the consultation was wonderful, answered all our questions and they installed everything without a glitch. They have checked in on us a few times already and we've only owned our generator for about 6 months. They also do quarterly maintenance if you like. This gave us peace of mind. Do Not use there services! They couldn't even keep an appointment to provide an estimate. If Zero was an option, that is what they deserve. Their guy showed up an hour early. I asked him to come back at the scheduled time 12pm. At 1220 he had not returned, and I called the office. Stephanie told me she would call him, find out where he is and call me back. Five minutes passed, and Stephanie had not called me. I called back, and Stephanie said she would try and reach him again and put me on hold. Then she told me that he had gone on to his next job. As senior citizens, we got tired of fire and wind-related blackouts. After researching the whole-house generators available, we contacted several Generac installers in the Southern California area. We scheduled job walks and met with their estimators (yes, masks were worn at all times). We were asking for bids covering two potential locations for the generator. First impressions tell you a lot about a company. One company's estimator was late arriving, wrote a few notes, provided a few answers to questions and left saying we would get their bid by mail. Another was prompt arriving, extremely knowledgeable, personable and professional, gave detailed explanations of the process, and made several helpful suggestions. Turns out that person was "Kenny" from All American Generator Services in Chatsworth, CA. His bids covering the two potential locations arrived by email within two days and turned out to be the lowest bid we received. We accepted All American's bid and were promised an installation date in mid-March. Stephanie from Sales later called and said that based on generator availability they would be able to pull the date forward to February 22nd. All American's crew, led by Oliver, showed up on time at 7AM and went to work. During the day, between the installers, the concrete sawing crew, the plumbing crew and a roving All American Generator technician, we counted 10 people that had been here during various times of the day. We appreciated that they kept us posted as to when the electricity and gas needed to be shut off and gave a heads-up before anything happened. Twice they asked if a certain positioning met our expectations. The entire team was courteous, polite and professional. The job was completed and wrapped up around 4PM with a final walk-through and familiarization. The only unfinished business was the replacement of the concrete for the trenching which understandably occurred later that week. The jobsite was left in spotless condition. It is refreshing in today's business environment to find a company that deals with their customers with integrity and performs their work with a high level of competence. All American Generator Services has earned our appreciation and respect on both counts. We highly recommend them if you are considering the installation of a generator. read more

Well I am saddened to say that when put to the test Kenny turned out to be... a lot like all the rest. Long story short after some alerts from our Nest protects we had the gas company test the Carbon Monoxide levels in the house when the generator was running. The Carbon Monoxide levels turned out to be lethal! When we brought this to his attention All Kenny said was "I am not going anywhere" and eventually presented me with a huge invoice, with no consideration, to move the generator to the proper location. Even after representative from Generac, the manufacturer said that the location was the most dangerous possible place due to the tree cover, the fence, the gate and the distance between the generator, the wall and the distance to our LP tanks. Kenny simply blamed me and the contractor for telling him to put the generator there. Sure he came to the rescue to finish the job LT Generator had started and refused to give me a break down of costs for; but at no time did he say "oh by the way that location will kill your guests in the adjacent rooms!" I am not sure which is worse IF he knew but chose not to tell me afraid I would not complete the job. Or if after 40 years in the industry he does not understand the most important aspects of generator location safety!? Anyway you can decide that for yourself. All I say is as always you have to become the expert you cant trust anyone All American are no different they are all about $$$$!!! FYI I used emergencyelectricone.com to finish the job for about 1/2 the price Jack and Jon father and son team I highly recommend them. read more

I want to start of by saying that I contacted Generac for the names of dealers. I was given 3 names. The first one I contacted wanted to know about my square footage and gave me a phone estimate maybe because they were too lazy to come to my house. The second company I contacted did send someone over. He took about 5 minutes, looked at my property didn't offer any conversation except to say he would send a proposal. Third company I contacted was All American Generator Services. They had a tech in the area that came the same day!! His name was Devon. Now I showed Devon where I wanted the unit and he took the time to explain to me why I couldn't but it where I wanted. He took the time to show me all my choices and did an outstanding job of answering any questions that I had. I decided this was the company I wanted to do business with. My house is 3400 sq/ft. I ordered the 20kw system. I worked with Stephanie at their office, setting up an appointment which was a snap. Stephanie advised me that the installers would arrive between 6 and 7 am. At precisely 6 am they were at the front door. My two installers were Tanner and Oliver. I can't say enough about how professional they were and what an outstanding installation they did. They were done my 1pm. I have read the 2 bad reviews about this company. Must have been a fluke. Highly recommend them. read more
