Living in Malibu SCE power outages have become much too familiar and thus we opted to have LT Generators in Van Nuys install a backup power generator. The July 2025 installation was professional, timely, and the system has already provided power for us on four separate occasions while our entire neighborhood went dark. The unit is quite LOUD--- but we were made aware of that by the LT sales representative (Tommy Ayers) prior to our purchase and our dual glazed windows do reduce the sound to a tolerable level. We seriously considered solar but after multiple bids that ranged from 2.5x to 3x the cost of the natural gas powered generator and with the potential problems associated with a roof installation the LT generator acquisition was an obvious best choice solution for our needs. read more

We originally purchased and had LT install our standby Generator. We had a service agreement with them which said that they would do maintenance calls every 6 months and make sure that our 100 gallon propane tank was kept filled with steady supply of gas. Recently we had called and tried to get information regarding our next service and we ended up either leaving messages with no return call or reaching someone after numerous attempts and then reaching someone who wasn't very responsive or friendly. Bottom line was, we were out of propane and our service agreement didn't seem to make any difference . I do remember after the initial installation, that we would receive an occasional courtesy call or card regarding their service but that went away after a few years. I called their office and left a message for the owner to please call me regarding the possible purchase of another Generator and I never heard back anything.... Oh well.... read more

So my experience with LT Generators started off pretty good. They installed a 22KW Generac unit about 10 years ago. They over charged me a bit, but I should have shopped around more. Like buying the unit from Costco. The Generac unit itself has worked great and never failed, until recently. Only once did it tell me it needed oil, so I checked and then I put oil in it. The issues with LT started when the unit failed and I only discovered the issue when the power was out and the generator didn't kick in. So I immediately called LT and explained I'm a long term customer, they are the only ones who serviced my unit and it is broken and my power is out. They tell me someone will call me back. I ask WHEN exactly. They say within 2 hours. I say for sure someone will call me within 2 hours since this is an urgent issue? They say definitely. I give them my phone number and ask them to confirm it back so there is no issue. They do... Well it's 2+ WEEKS later and no one has bothered to call me back. Kinda thought I would matter as a long time customer, who spent $20,000 (on the unit and their suggested 'annual' maintence). Plus, I referred my next door neighbor who bought a whole house unit from them (guessing $15,000). I never asked them for anything - but if they had done a free maintenance service i would have appreciated that. So before hiring these people please realize they are too busy to call a customer back who is WITHOUT power - literally the exact scenario the person paid you to prevent. Forget coming out to actually fix the problem. They also don't seem to put value on you giving them referrals for more business. Let all that sink in. Anyway, I eventually called a friend who previously worked on air planes and other vehicles in the military, plus he works on his cars and houses. I begged him to come over in the rain (also I live an hour from him). He comes over and the unit error says 'Check sparkplugs'. So he replaces the spark plugs, checks the oil (which was fine), and its fixed within 20 minutes. The unit then turns on and works fine. So basically LT can't be bothered to call me back, nor come out to service the unit they sold me. Even though the whole process only took my friend (who never worked on a generator) 20 minutes - which for them would probably be just 10 minutes to help me. So the outage caused my computer servers to go down, which cost my business thousands of dollars. Plus, all the other hassles of being without power for half a day. Basically all the things you think you trying to avoid with buying a large backup generator. So here's where I get REALLY frustrated by the whole thing. When my friend changes the spark plugs, he asks me when is the last time that I had this generator serviced? I say about a year and half ago. He says that can't be. He shows me the spark plugs and says well it looks like these are the original spark plugs or at least 5-7 years old. So I've paid LT Generators $600 every 1-2 years to "Service" my generator. They SAY that they change the oil/filter, change the air filter, change the battery, and change the spark plugs. This sounds like a lot, but for $70 I bought an official Generac Maintenance kit which contains all those items (minus the battery). So they are essentially charging you ~$500 for labor - for something that takes them LESS THAN AN HOUR. Plus, they FAILED TO CHANGE THE $15 SPARK PLUGS, WHICH CAUSED MY UNIT TO FAIL! So what was I paying this $600 service fee for?! (See attached images of the spark plugs that came out of the unit). At this point due to the financial damages I've incurred and their negligent maintenance service that I paid thousands of dollars for - during which they lied about replacing the spark plugs which was directly responsible for the unit failing, I'm considering a small claims court action. read more

Today was a very important day in our lives, as our Cummins 30KW Generator needed to receive a Permit through a major relocation process. LT Generators under the ownership & management of Lenny Tedeski, had a crew here at 7:30AM to start the arduous relocation process of a 1500 pound Generator. Ivan led the crew of four, consisting of Ruben, Aaron, & Omar with Ivan supervising. They worked incredibly hard with relocating the generator to a legally permit achieved location upon our back lawn. A well build pre-slab was first placed down, & then came the amazing relocation of the generator to set upon the slab. Hours went by as the crew of 4 made all the new connections of the electric & gas lines, neatly redistributing everything that needed to be transferred. Just a bad experience start to finish. LT Generators is on the Generac approved vendor list, and when i was notified if a potential recall and inspection requirement by Generac, I found LT through their website. During the initial phone call they confirmed they were part of the recall program and that they could set up and inspection, but that they were busy and it would take 3 months. I booked the appointment. On the morning of the appointment, three months later, i called to inquire if they could give me an idea of when the tech would arrive, as i had taken part of the morning off to be home for this. They told me no one was coming; that my appointment was made by someone who was no longer employed there, that it would not be honored, that they were not accepting any "new customers" and that there was nothing they would do for me. And they weren't very nice about it either. If I hadn't called, they would not have called and i would have sat there waiting like a maroon. Wildly unprofessional. Would NEVER recommend to anyone. And their prices are insane; i researched them when looking for regular generator service. if not for the generator recall would never have engaged them. read more

The house we bought came with a Generac 14 kwh generator. Traditional electricians won't touch these systems so called these guys to get mine running and teach me how to use it. They are very buttoned up about scheduling and I was able to have someone stop by within about a week. They had to come back as my unit needed some parts Overall- they are great to deal with-- super professional and prompt. The only slight negative-- their service calls are not cheap. Approximately two years ago, I contacted LT to install a generator at my home in Malibu. They seemed professional and quoted approximately $20,000. They then chose a location under the house to install it. Since that time, we've had four power outages and it has yet to work at all! They now say it was installed in the wrong location and that I should pay to have a structure built around it. In addition, they were suppose to cover the backup gas tanks which was never done and now they have completely rusted out which could lead to a gas leak. I've contacted them on numerous locations and still no resolution. I have retained an attorney and will proceed with a lawsuit and demand a full refund plus any interest paid. This company is not good at communication. We are currently in the last phase of large project for them. Today the inspector witnessed their lead engineer torquing on live 480 lines. When the inspector wins back several yards that is never a good sign. We also got hit with a can we turn the power off to you while building request with no notice. Love when a contractor has been told EVERY STEP OF THE WAY we can not shut down without 2 weeks notice to our clients shows up morning of an inspection asking if they can shut down power... not! Usually in these instances we call over and talk to a companies management and get things worked out. After several calls and emails our sales guy Tommy was told to call us to find out what we want. Should have know the final call with Marko Vitanza was going to go bad when he was not honorable to make the first call to a upset customer. This guy was very much into arguing and making his problem mine. He used words like stupid and inhuman, not words you should be throwing around with customers or anyone else. I've asked to speak to the actual owner Lenny Tedeski. Hopefully we can work something out. For now I'd avoid Lt generators!! read more

FYI, yesterday Lenny sent his incredible crew to install my new Generac 17 Generator and 4 Propane Tanks at my home.
