Friendly service, and they had the leaf blower i wanted, which is usually hard for find.

My mower just randomly quit working this past weekend so I took it in to be looked at. After a quick inspection I was told it needed a tune up. I left my mower there and about 24 hours later I was called and said it was fixed and ready for pickup! Less than $150 dollars later I had a rebuilt carb, new oil, new spark plug and the blades were sharpened. This place has great service and very reasonable prices. Would highly recommend! read more

Service was prompt, timely, and with reasonable prices. I have a Ryobi lithium battery-powered lawnmower. The limited warranty was still good, but did not cover wear. No other repair shop listed on the Ryobi website would touch it with a ten-foot pole, citing poor compensation by the company. Baek Jr diagnosed the problem right away, finding a bad contact on a circuit connected to the engine stop lever, due to wear/use. Warranty didn't cover it, but I was concerned that they might charge more than this piece of crap is worth (Ryobi's crappy product is another story). B & R gave me a very reasonable price and they repaired it in less than an hour. Baek went further and explained the problem in detail! The quick fix was also very important since I drove over 50 miles. Awesome job, especially if you own battery-powered lawn equipment. Highly recommended!!! read more

This wonderful shop fixed my electric chainsaw on the spot in about 20 minutes! It needed a new chain, which they had and it is as good as new. I called several shops around town and nobody would even look at an older electric chainsaw. I am so grateful that this expertise is alive and well in this throw it out and get a new one world. Sweet family business. The shop is almost intimidating because of how many professional landscapers they serve, but the lady in the front is so friendly. I came at a hectic time for the shop. One of the sons was visiting from the Army and helping improve the shop with his brother. They explained their plan to me while I was waiting and I am excited to see what it will look like! Baek is an old school mechanic and it was cool to see a master work. He fixed my trimmer and it works as good as new! Stihl dealer , owners are very nice korean couple , been here in USA a long time , Korean American , English isn't great but super knowledgeable , and husband is a mechanic . He knows what he is talking about , so people who say otherwise , are just complaining to complain, and they are 99. 99 % wrong . He is a good guy for sure . You have to understand they are running a small shop competing with big box stores . My feeling is support the local stores if and when you can . I agree with the other reviewer who said he didn't beleive the bad wrap this business was getting from other reviewers . I have bought almost all the products I could from this small business . The owners are Korean - American , slightly more on the Korean side (since they are 1st generation) , but have to say the other reviewers have been giving this business the short end of the stick. They have been nothing but honest and upfront with me. Having said that , I have not gone to them for a "deal" . Just be aware , a small shop like this has almost no chance of surviving against behemoth shops like Home Depot and Lowe's , so if you like the convenience and support from a local owned shop who can easily service your equipment , support them . If you buy online you perhaps can find something cheaper, but you can't get products immediately and you aren't supporting a local business who has been nothing but fair and honest (with me, since I can't speak for anyone else) . I have gone to them for YEARS long before they moved locations . Just remember online often has huge warehouses in the middle of no where or are even worse drop shippers , who have no rent . read more

Went in with an issue with my ryobi power washer. Owner asked what was wrong and quickly pointed out the issue, cleaned out the part and sent me on my way (no charge). Working fine now. I'm not believing the bad reviews. I had a great experience here. It's run by a family, and they're super nice and efficient. They do warranty claims so I assume the bad reviews have an issue with getting their warranties rejected (by Ryobi for instance) or delayed and are blaming it on this small business. Came here for years until the owner got greedy and overcharged me on the last few occasions I went there. Brought in my lawnmower and told the owner I needed a new primer because there was a hole in mine. Without even a breath the guy says I need a tune up. Ok my bad, do the tune-up at a cost of $110 it's been awhile. He says comeback in a week. A month later my neighbor needs his blade sharpened on his mower. I might add it's the same mower as mine. Again Cheaty McCheater says to him you need a tune up. This time he wants $135. Both times he didn't look at the mowers or start them. BEWARE not a reputable businessman. Im not sure if everyone that left reviews here in yelp are talking about the same people. Brought my ryobi lithium blower for warranty repair. I was greeted by a husband and wife that works there. It took about 2 months for the warranty repair because of covid making getting parts from the factory super slow. Heck homedepot wouldn't even take my ryobi for warranty repair because of covid restrictions. I got my blower back fully repaired and with an extra bnew lithium battery which costs $159 in home depot! Over all a good experience. People dont be a karen. read more

I've done business with this place for several years now and have always been pleased with their service and care for equipment. Can be a bit pricey but the work and detail is worth the extra expense. I have an old craftsman mower which had an air filter which is virtually impossible to find replacement parts or since the demise of Sears. The owner handcrafted a replacement filter for me! Cleaned out the primer line sharpened the blades and changed the oil as well all for roughly 85 dollars. My only gripe was the wait, (one week) but that was due to the coronavirus and the 18 mowers ahead of mine!! read more

Worst service ever imaginable. This business steals time. Our generators were here for 3 months and they claimed they couldn't do the repair because they were still waiting for the parts. We asked for proof of the order and he refused to provide it saying that if we don't like it we can take the generators without repair. When we called the manufacturer to inquire why the parts were taking so long to arrive, we were told that they arrived and were signed for over A MONTH AGO! When we told that to the repair guy, he didn't want to hear it and insisted that the parts had still not arrived and he was really busy so we need to leave. When I told him who signed for the parts and when, he got incredibly rude. We ended up picking up our generators after waiting for 3 months without any repair. Total waste of time. read more

Run don't walk away from this shop. I thought the owners were a nice couple when I talked to them over the phone and I decided to ignore the Yelp reviews and give them my business. What a mistake !!! I left a non starting generator with the owner to inspect and provide an estimate. He took it apart and gave estimate that seemed a little high on my voicemail. I went to discuss this with him and get a breakdown of the estimate figures. He immediately turned into a very irrationally angry person and threatened to sue me if I didn't pay him for his work. (which hadn't been done yet). To make a long story short. I was in a time crunch to get the generator back, his wife intervened and I agreed to have him complete the work. I ended up payed almost 400% over the original estimate and took back a working generator. Later when I had time to inspect the work I discovered very shoddy work where he cut and twisted wires together internally to make connections. I had to take his work apart to crimp on the appropriate connectors to make better, safer connections. If you want to get ripped off and get shoddy work then this is the place for you. I will find a more reputable place to go to next time. read more

Went to pick it up, refused to give it to me for 10 days until they received $ from bank. Said to come back with cash. Came back with cash and purchased chainsaw. Now, B&R ALSO charging credit card. I had to open dispute with bank. Run away from this place! Fast! (I am currently living in Winnetka so I am local.) Owners should be charged with fraud. read more

If you go to this shop be forewarned this will be your worst nightmare. I took my Honda Generator which looked like new to this shop for an oil leak and had varying electrical output, I give B&R $50 for an initial evaluation. No phone calls of the evaluation. I went to the shop and the generator was in the same place I had left it. IF YOU REQUIRE ANYTHING TO BE COMPLETED IN A TIMELY FASHION THIS IS NOT THE SHOP FOR YOU. Did I mention the owner The owner is rude and not at all responsive to your requests but payment is requested in advance - MY MISTAKE! We agreed on a price of $180 plus the $50 B&R had already received. After two months I have a generator that is all apart and worthless. B&R claim to fame is taking things apart and making items a throw away instead of a working generator. There are other lawnmower shops. B&R Lawnmower Shop is not the one to choose. read more

This place is listed as an approved site for Generac / Honeywell generator repairs. I brought in a Honeywell generator that was under the full parts and labor warranty in mid-July. Not only did they require that I pay $95 to even look at it (under warranty) they have yet to fix it nearly 3 months later (it is still there as a box of parts). They contend that Generac / Honeywell wants them to buy the parts first, They wanted me to buy the parts, pay for their labor and then seek reimbursement from Generac. That is not the way the warranty works and they have refused or not followed advice and assistance from Generac (multiple calls at my request). I still don't have my generator, they have my money. I don't feel the owner is honest. The prices are what you would pay anywhere in town. I have bought two Stihl products from him. I made a mistake twice. When I bought the first chainsaw from him I looked around and decided he was the only who had it in stock. When I bought my Stihl Air blower I said I wanted the box it came in but was not provided the box nor did I receive the tool kit . I asked several times but he could not provide them. I had written a letter to Stihl regarding his service as a dealer. Now my blower needs service and I sure won't go back to this guy. There are several Stilh dealers in the valley. They did not have it in stock ,so I was going to try somewhere else. They promised that they could order it and have it by Friday. ( This was on Monday.)
