Customer Service: 5 Location: 5 Parking: 5 Cleanliness: 4 Reservations: 4 Comfort: 4 This military lodging is situated on the McGuire Air Force Base, so to access it you'll need some type of military identification. We decided to stay one night here this past week, while we were traveling from DC to NYC. It's very easy to navigate to and the staff is always nice. We enjoyed our lodging and I'm pretty confident that we would return for another visit at this lodging location.

    Wonderful brown water.

Boo! This place blows. I ended up staying here for a month long TDY. They put me up in one of the outer buildings (2706). It was not a good experience. From first check in you think it's going to be an ok stay. That's because you check into what seems to be an up to date main building. I didn't stay in there so I can't talk to it. Instead I was sent over to the outriggers. The building was very old and it showed in every aspect. The furniture was old, rooms were clean but just seemed filthy due to severe old age. The building still has a phone booth inside it. For the room, VERY hot. This is due to standard AF using arbitrary midevil logic to determine when to turn the AC off and the heat on. So even though outdoor temps in October were up near 80, the heat was on. You have no control over the temp in the room. It's either on or off. Even when you turn it off the pipes still radiate the heat since it flows through the whole building. The only fix is to open the single window wide open and hope you can somehow bleed off enough heat to be able to sleep. There is a small mini fridge with freezer and a coffee maker (mine didn't work). I lost hot water in the room one day, then all water another day. One day while in the shower, the water sputtered and then came out poop brown. All the water then ran that way for a day. I then lost water again for a bit. The housekeeping seemed spotty. Sometimes they would come in and make the bed, sometimes change out towels, sometimes just pick the ones up off the floor and fold them and hang them back up. Sometimes they would actual clean. For $94 dollars a night you would expect a lot more. I stayed at a very nice Sheraton in Baltimore for $82 a night. But let's be honest, you stay here because you are told to & not because you want to. With any luck you might get into the main building. If not then expect a fairly not good stay.

The main hotel building where the lobby is located is nice and you check-In thinking you'll get a decent room. But then they send you to the old buildings located in the back which look like it hasn't been updated since the 80s. Very misleading! It's very dark back there by the buildings and a bit scary. Inside smells like mildew and very old. The floors make noises and there is an old phone booth frame still there. I got stuck in the building without an elevator so I had fun carrying my 50 lb suitcase up the stairs, which was very dark as well.. a perfect place for a crime to happen. No thermostat in my room. Good 'ol floor/wall heating. My room didn't have a bath, just a shower. The good thing is, there was a hair dryer provided. There's fridge and microwave as well. I still haven't seen a soul in this building since I've been here. Kinda eery. I found excuses to drive around base so I wouldn't have to come back to this depressing room.

Checked in 6-17-18 at 10pm. My room looked as if it had not been cleaned in days! Absolutely the dirtiest place I've ever seen. If I had not been so tired from an 8 hour drive to get here I would have left. The first thing I saw was a huge garbage bag in the middle of the room full of at least 4 pizza boxes, which I threw into the hallway because of the smell. I had to request fresh towels, sheets, pillow cases, and a blanket. I had to make the bed and remove items from the shower before I dared use it. If your disabled or have a lot of luggage then your in luck! This is a 4 story building with no elevator. Also the immediate parking in front of the building is permanently blocked off, so good luck with the 80 yard stroll. Prior to my arrival I called to verify the address and was put on hold for 15 mins. I hung up and called back only to be placed on hold for another 10 mins. When time was finally made to speak to me (25 mins later) the person complained about being overwhelmed speaking to people and it was only 9 am at that point. The room layout, paint, carpet, and furniture is very very dated. My 80 year old grandparent have more modern taste! No workout room or pool on the premises. The room safe did not work, the center overhead light does not work, and the bed is hard as a rock.

Great Place on BASE, came here during the winter 2014 and it was awesome! I stayed at building 2078 something like that but it was nice, king size bed, nice room, refrigerator, Free Wi-Fi you just need to call them for access. Bathroom is a little small but it worked out for me, TV is HDMI "friendly" if any of you know what that means then your set ;) I was paying $50 a night. I heard there are upgrades for bigger families where it's an actual apartment with a kitchen, but you can call to find out. There's a welcome and please use that to order food since there aren't that many places to order from or you can always use Yelp ;) Parking is alright there's a lot of people so to get parking in front is pretty tough. Other than that Awesome place.

I wanted something close so I wouldn't have to drive far every morning. This place fit that bill. Just a couple minute from the front gate. The front desk wasn't the most welcoming I've ever experienced, that is true. My room was clean though. The sheets and towels had a faint smell of bleach which I like (reminds me of my mother's laundry when I was a kid). The bed and pillows were comfortable. I was worried, when I walked down the hall to my room, that the walls were too thin - the person across the hall was blaring their television - but I had zero issues sleeping and, from my perspective, it was quiet. The pool was closed. That's okay. I wouldn't have used it anyway. The small fitness room didn't have a lot in it. Zero free weights, which I would prefer but it did have a couple of treadmills, stepper, and stationary bike. There was one universal machine and a bench too. Water and clean towels, on offer. I didn't have high hopes for the continental breakfast but, to be honest, it was reminiscent of those I get at Hilton properties. Not just muffins/donuts but also yogurt, scrambled eggs, sausage, fruit, coffee, juice, a number of cereals. Not a 5-star restaurant but that's not what I'm looking for in a hotel. Wifi worked well. My preference is to stay on base but should there be "no room in the inn" I have no reservations about returning to this hotel.

Pros: Beautifully…read moredecorated inside with oversized paper flowers, butterflies, as well as a hanging rose backdrop. A beautiful, welcoming, inviting aesthetic choice. Large, spacious elevators that move quickly. My room was very large, spacious, & well thought out. The layout allowed for lots of movement while still segmenting certain areas without making the room feel restrictive. Amazingly quiet stay. The rooms appear to be laid out in such a way that there is little to no residual noise from neighboring rooms. I would stay here again for that alone. The room was pristine. I always clean & sanitize my hotel rooms after check-in, but this was by far one of the easiest I've ever done. I love how the towels & bath mats are folded decoratively in the bathroom. They're also plush, wonderfully thick, & the perfect balance between coarse & soft. Despite not having a handheld shower nozzle, the water pressure was surprisingly good. There are lots of plugs & outlets in the room, especially on the desk. You should have no problem charging all of your devices. There was no remote control in my room, but a quick call to the front desk solved that. It wasn't even 5 minutes between my request & the remote being delivered. I always pull back the mattress & mattress covers to inspect the mattress itself, & everything was crisp & clean. I appreciated that the window had a partial view of the parking lot but faced the side of the building. It was angled perfectly to provide plenty of light, maintain situational awareness, & still offer privacy. Great breakfast options, especially for those who are pork-free or trying to eat a little healthier. There were bananas, apples, oranges, oatmeal with toppings like flaked coconut, flaxseed, pumpkin seeds, banana chips, dried cranberries, & even chocolate chips. The hot bar offered turkey sausage, scrambled eggs, & a spinach frittata. They also had blueberry mini scones, apple cinnamon muffins, blueberry muffins, iced coffee, oat milk, & French vanilla and hazelnut creamers. I fully expected to go elsewhere for breakfast, but they provided everything I needed for a delicious, filling, nutritious, high-protein meal. Cons: I thought the line of questioning during check-in was a bit intrusive. Marshall at the front desk asked why I was in town, & when I said I was there on business, he asked who I was doing business with. It didn't feel like casual conversation. It felt more like an interrogation. He also spent a lot of time questioning my address because the address on my driver's license didn't match what was in the system. For a 1-night stay, that seemed excessive. I've checked into numerous Marriott properties across the country this year alone & have never experienced this level of scrutiny. I understand the need to verify information, but the tone didn't feel like routine validation. After driving 3 hours at the end of a long workday on very little sleep, being interrogated was the last thing I was in the mood for. If anything needed to be confirmed, verifying my email address to ensure my folio was sent correctly should have sufficed. I'm not sure why the folded bath mat was stored in the soap dish inside the shower because that means you have to step into the shower to get it. Since the whole point is to put it down before showering so you don't slip when you get out, the placement seemed counterintuitive. This location also has that weird shower with no door, just a piece of glass covering about half the length of the shower. I angled the nozzle closer to the floor instead of directly at myself, which kept water from getting all over the floor this time. There is also no handheld shower wand, which makes rinsing off more difficult. Some of the light switches are hard to find. It took me several minutes to figure out how to turn on the bedside lights. The thermostat takes a very long time to respond. At first, I wasn't sure if it was broken. Despite multiple adjustments, I didn't hear the unit kick on or change speed for at least 15 minutes. The sink water tastes awful. If you've ever tasted well water, it's very similar. The hotel should consider additional filtration. I ended up getting filtered water from the gym just to brush my teeth, & it was only slightly better. The shower is also a little confusing to operate. The handle was turned so tightly in one direction that I genuinely thought I might break it before it finally moved & turned the water on. More USB outlets by the bed would have been helpful. There are plenty of standard outlets nearby, but nothing directly bedside. I forgot my charging block & only had a USB cord, so I had to use the USB ports at the desk & on the desk lamp instead. The in-room iron is dangerous to use. It constantly drips hot water as soon as it's picked up, & the labels on the dial are so worn that it's almost impossible to tell what setting you're using.

The room and the amenities are great and if it weren't for the kitchen (so that I can cook), I would leave in a heartbeat. Not really sure how folks opt to work in hospitality industries but have the faintest idea what it means. Got here and first issue, the office manager was asleep! Took us nearly 45 minutes of calling and banging on doors to get him to wake up. Then he comes out in his BOXERS. Like EW! How unprofessional! How to mention gross! We get out room key however and drive over to it. First impression - room was BEYOND HOT AND HUMID! It was just awful. So turn on the A/C. 3 hours later, still very hot and humid in the room. But if you sit right next to the unit, you'll get cold. Unit is either way too small for the room size or the room isn't insulated properly at all. Took well over 24 hours to get it to a semi-comfortable temperature. A/C didn't turned off even once the whole time we were there. The room doesn't look bad though. Night bed sheets and comfortable. Unbelievably small flat screen on the wall. Got a nice microwave and fridge set up though. Bathroom looks to be recently remodeled too. However, as we got more comfortable in the room, we found SEVERAL issues. 1. Only got 2 pillows which were flat as pancakes. 2. Bed was hard as a ROCK and very uncomfortable. 3. Several of the plug outlets didn't work either. Not to mention the main working outlet is leaving a noticeable gap between the outlet and the wall. 4. The shower head isn't connected to the wall. 5. There's a full length mirror but you can't even use it because there's a table and chair in the way. 6. Getting fresh towels or anything is a pain because you're only allowed a max of 2 at a time. So basically every day you have to get towels and if you're getting back lye, you're kinda screwed. 7. They advertise free wifi but it requires a password which you can't seem to get or find. Over all, the motel is very disorganized and not nearly as nice as it looks. Wouldn't come back.
