Everyone, Please meet Lucky. Our German Shepherd we rescued last year. Lucky is my soulmate…read morefurbaby. He's also very quiet, shy, lovable....the list goes on and on. I searched high and low to find the best furbaby sitter when we were out of town. I decided on Boat Club Pet Resort for many reasons: Very clean and staff very attentive to us humans and especially our fur babies. Price! They're a heck of a lot cheaper than pet sitter that enters your home....when you're not there that always made me nervous. Location, Location,Location! Easy access from all parts of Fort Worth area. Daily I would receive Report Card on Lucky, with all info on his day, mood,eating,etc. they took pictures of him too! Side Note: we were so anxious about leaving our love bucket, we had a death in our family and a week later our daughter was getting married.....our stress level was to the max .... however, not once did I worry or wonder how Lucky was getting along with the staff or other dogs. I kid you not, The resort became our extended family! Go up anytime and ask for a tour, get their prices and meet the staff - you can bet they have what you are looking for, your fur babies will thank you!

It's kind of a long story how Thuy and I came to the decision to adopt a couple of cats (in kitten…read moreform), but the last chapter of the story fell in place in our new neighborhood. Through conversations with various new neighbors we learned of another neighbor that works with a rescue organization (it sounded pretty vague to us too). But due to some good timing, and culminating during a neighborhood "block party", we finally met this person we heard so much about.. As luck (fate?) would have it, she told us that she has two kittens coming up for adoption. We went to meet the kittens (similar in age, but not related) later that week and again a week later. Of course they were super cute, what kittens aren't? I must admit that I was a bit skeptical about the adoption situation, but as I looked into Kool Kats, I liked what I read. So I don't know a lot about rescue situations, but I learned that conventional shelters can be rather stressful situations for the animals. Kool Kats is rather unique in that the rescued cats are NOT kept in shelters, rather they are all fostered in volunteer's homes (most are pet owners as well). This has a huge benefit as the foster parents have a chance to get to know the cats, their personalities, and what situations are right for the animal (homes with/without children, other pets, quiet situations, needy animal etc.). All this adds up to an adoption situation that may be a bit better than adopting a cat from a shelter or adoption event, where the animal may not be known as well. I felt that our cat's foster parent, a cat owner herself, knew these cats very well (and her insight was very helpful). So it's been a couple of weeks now, and we are very happy with our decision. Marco & Polo are wonderful, healthy animals (the cats are checked by a vet prior to adoption, and we have our next check-up on July 11th). Also, with two cats, they keep each company when we are not home. So far, it looks like we made a very good decision. Note: The address on the business listing is not that same as what's on the Kool Kats web site, so if you need more information, do check the website (there is a lot of information there, though the adoption price may have gone up from what's listed). If you have any questions about our experience, please feel free to message me. Hopefully you'll be able to give a deserving cat a new home. One last thing. It is my understanding that Kool Kats does its adoptions at the Hurst PetSmart (http://www.yelp.com/biz/petsmart-hurst) on weekends. I was preparing to lose my bestest boy, and found these lovely people as an option. I was prepared…read moreto, well, get what I paid for, and maybe some sympathy. I got SO much more than that. Everyone we interacted with was so genuinely kind and caring in helping me prepare the details, they didn't rush me or anything. I opted to get his name engraved as well and a clay print of his paw - that, plus the very nice box for his ashes, pickup, and drop-off would end up around $300 all told, and that was already wonderful. But they included material about the rainbow bridge, including resources for counseling and dealing with grief (I luckily already have someone, but am extremely grateful and happy to see that addition,) a packet of wildflower seeds to grow, a small envelope sort of package with a window in which they had placed some of his fur (which absolutely made me bawl when I saw it,) and a tag with his name engraved - this also made me cry happily, as they chose a red heart which is actually exactly the same nametag he had on his collar before too. I was actually not home that day, and my father offered to receive it, and tells me Valerie was very concerned with making sure I would be happy with it all, and I intend to call and let her, and they, know that I am. I hope I won't require their services again, but if I do, I will know that they will take utmost care and respect with my family member.

She explained the process and told us what they do for our fur babies. She let me take my time and carry him out to a little bed. She was very compassionate, patient and kind. She brought him back with his little urn, an engraved name plate, his paw print, a certificate with a gold heart, a memorial keepsake with his fur and the tag that stayed with him the entire time. I was very impressed with their services and thought they did a beautiful job. I highly recommend Paws in Peace. We want to say Thank you from all of us for helping us through this difficult time.

I was consumed with grief and kept calling out of worry and even showed up before they finished because I was so anxious about leaving my baby there. But they were so understanding the whole time. It really was the worst day and I'll never forget the care in which they treated my little boy with. I'll miss him forever but they truly took such good care of him in his final send off. I'll always be grateful for that.

Worth the drive from Azle, Vet Bill has been a steady presence with our fur kids. From routine…read moreheart worm, flea, allergy treatments, to surgery when one of our cats needed a tail amputation and diagnosing our other cat when he just stopped acting like himself! They can usually see us the same day or the next when we've called. They call when they say they will call with results and usually check on the animals after they've treated our fur kids.
