DO NOT DO BUSINESS SITH THESE FOLKS. Please, save yourself the trouble. We brought in our $500 Dyson in July, they said it might not be repairable but they would let us know. We didn't hear back from them until October when they said we owed them a $15 disposal fee. We said they never even told us they were throwing it out and would have happily picked it up and disposed of it ourselves. Honestly it's an expensive vacuum so I would have liked the opportunity to see if we could find someone else to fix it. The owner then proceeded to call my husband a dumba$$ and a piece of sh*t and started screaming at him. We've bought 3-4 vacuums here over the last 30 years. The customer service used to be great! All the vacuums were Miele (for different locations) and they are all still very functional!! We've had a few small needs over the years and it was always a pleasure to work with them. WELL, NO LONGER. I called ahead to ask if they had a part that is no longer made. It's not an essential part of the vacuum, but a convenience. The man thought he might have one. He found it and said $10. I was fine with that! I arrived 10-15 min later, and my older 13# dog jumped out of the car to come with me. I decided it was okay, and I'd pick her up. I opened the door and then picked her up. The man came to the counter and I said who I was. He replied, "a funny thing happened as I was cleaning the part..." and showed me the exact break I was trying to replace. I was so disappointed! Appearantly, it already had a crack (no surprise, it's broken 3 times on mine). Well, I was wondering IF I might* be able to fix it by taking both pieces. He replied, "I'd still sell it to you," and I was shocked he'd charge me, as otherwise, he'll throw it out. When I started to balk, he basically said, "get out, I don't need to deal with this, and I don't allow dogs in here!" I said, "OKAY!" turned and walked out the door. I will NEVER go there again. It's such a shame, that a business with a great past reputation is being driven into the ground by a younger guy with no understanding of good customer service and how to keep business coming back and a good word spread. I used to recommend this place to many folks, whenever I heard they had a vacuum issue. Never again. I'll drive an hour or two out of my way to find service or make a new purchase in the future. Oh! TERRIBILE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! DON'T GO HERE! I have been having my vacuum cleaner serviced at All Brand Vacuum for 30 years. This past experience was unprofessional and uncalled for. The vacuum was brought in with a problem and I was told they would call us in a couple weeks. This happened but my room mate didn't understand the problem described and told the owner, Lawson Doyle, she would have me call him back. So far so good. I called back and the man answering the phone said I would have to speak with the owner and he was not available, he would call me back. Over a week later, no call back, I called again and spoke with the owner. The conversation went fine on my end, he explained the problem and his recommended solution which I agreed to; he said it would be ready in a day or two. Three days later, my room mate called to see if it was ready and was told not to call again, there were too many calls, in a rude tone and told she would now have to pay in cash due to her behavior on the phone. Over a week has gone by with no news on the vacuum being ready so I called and spoke with the owner. He said I would need to pay prior to doing any work on the vacuum because I was a terrible customer. I remained calm and professional throughout the conversation requesting what he thought was bad about our conversation. He never provided an answer. I pointed it out the review on the website about being treated badly so I am not the only person concerned with his treatment and poor customer service. He explained he has lots of wonderful customers and said, "I don't give a shit!" His voice was raised and he went on to tell me to "have a good life, I don't need your business". read more

I bought a brand new vacuum from this business in June. Brought it back today as the hose had a crack. The owner took the hose and squished it together and said all fixed!!! Ok I don't think so ! I have used All Brand for two decades - as recently as a couple of years back. I recently brought my 18mos old Miele in for suction issues. The guy indicated it would be ten days before he could even look at it and tagged it. He immediately offered me $100 for it before even checking it out, but after saying it was worth repairing. Nine days later he rang me back and indicated that the issue was a seal on my Miele C1 Cat & Dog and that the part was not available and that multiple customers had said that the part was not available. He once again offered me $100 for my $750, 18mos old vacuum. Initially I was inclined as I had always trusted them and then my instincts kicked in. I stopped by the store to collect my vacuum and immediately googled after returning home. Voila! Guess what? The part popped right up on the Miele website, I ordered it and my machine was back in good working order. He tried quite hard to persuade me and LIED to me about the availability of the part. How many others has he duped? This guy is a predator and will do anything to line his pockets. he was high as a kite as well - the sign of a great business owner - NOT. The owner of All Brand Vacuum Sales and Repair on Forest Ave Portland Maine is a crook and a liar. We purchased a $1000 Meile Vacuum in July 2020 that stopped working Jan 2022. We brought it to him for repair. He said that someone took it apart and needed repair. We informed him no one did. He then said someone vacuumed up soda. We don't have soda in the house. He then said it would be $350 to fix. We reminded him of the manufacturer warrantee and he told us he didn't want our business. I wouldn't buy anything from him at all. Very untrustworthy and just grumpy too. I assigned one star because it was requires too pick a star. It was horrible service. He was clearly dishonest and very unpleasant. read more

I spent over $800 on a Seebo vacuum here less than two years ago. The vacuum stopped working so I brought it in. When I asked the guy in charge to look at it and give me an idea as to whether or not it would be a warranty issue. He said he didn't have time he was back ordered with 10 to 15 vacuums. I (not so smartly), but politely mentioned he was doing absolutely nothing when I walked in and I was just wanting him to quickly look. He literally THREATENED ME and kicked me out. He actually came out to the parking lot and continued his tirade. Commenting on his break time was not my best moment. But I can't lose my vacuum for a few weeks right now. I was shocked at the belligerent attitude of the man at All Brand Vacuums. He practically got physical with me when i suggested that my vacuum had 2 belts instead of one belt. " I know what I'm talking about!" "I dont have time for this!" He unscrewed the cover for me to show me and he was right. Well, turns out he was wrong and still would not admit it. He wouldn't even look at it and wouldn't screw the cover back on for me. He threw them in a bag. I told him I would be taking my business elsewhere. Just a warning to the public. This place is not good. Just the other day I took in my vacuum in as the bag indicator was not working. Before I could get out what was wrong with the vaccum the service person was trying to sale me a new vaccum. Well he didn't remember I just bought this vaccum from him just over a year ago. He was telling me the manufacture used cheep parts in mine. So I got back to telling about the indicator but he would not show me where the indica was. Well another servise person said it is on top. Then both said they could not get to it for 10 to 15 days. Well they were not busy. So then I asked let's plug it in and see what it is doing. They both said they don't plug it in while the customer is here. Well is said that is. Crazy and then one said you are crazy. Well from that i took my vaccum and let. All that was wrong with the Vaccum was a pluged filter that you could not that another vacc serve showed me. So all these guys wanted is to sale you a new vaccum. The absolute WORST customer service EVER !!!! DON'T EVER BUY THERE !!! I got a SEBO from my family for Christmas and after using it for not even 2 weeks I wanted to return it. I clean for a living and I am early stage arthritis. The handle hurt my finger and elbow and I was willing to exchange it for a Miele !!! He didn't even care, said I am not accepting a return and had a cardboard sign on the register that said "No Returns" !!!, which I assume he put there just before we came, we called ahead to let him know. What kind of business is that ??? Miele and SEBO will loose many customers because of him !!! i assume he won't be around much longer, miss the old owners; they were awesome. read more

I brought a $1200 Miehle vacuum in nearly-new condition to them for repair, and they gave me back another vacuum - same brand, model, and color - that was incredibly beaten up, dirty, and worn out. I did not have the serial number information, etc., and they insisted it was the same vacuum I dropped off. You will get a bad vibe from this people, trust your gut, or better yet, don't ever walk in the door. read more

My husband brought our handheld vacuum to be repaired just after New Years 2020. We hadn't received a call about the status after a few weeks so I called them. When I called them they couldn't find my vacuum and offered to call me back. After a few days I hadn't heard from them so I called them back. They told me that my vacuum needed a new battery and they couldn't fix it. I was also told that I should send it to Dyson for repair. I told them I'd arrange to pick it up in a few days. When I called back they were closed due to COVID and not answering. We bought a new vacuum and waited to hear back from them. I called today and the owner informed me he threw it away. He also insisted he's called me several times "since June", when he's in fact never called me once during this entire transaction. I spent over $400 on the original vacuum. They said it was worth fixing and that was my plan. My daughter has asthma-triggering environmental allergies, and we purchased this model out of her medical fund. We filed a BBB complaint and the business never responded. They have a misleading name and horrible customer service. Rude, rude, rude. read more

I miss the old owners of All Brand Vacuum. They were extremely helpful, friendly, and great with their customers. I clean houses, and have 2 Miele's that I purchased from All Brand, over $1600. When I have had an issue in the past, I would stop by and they would try to fix my issue while I waited. I knew there were different owners, when I dropped my vacuum off in December and they stressed that it would be at least 2 weeks before my tune-up was done. Thought that was a long time for them to have it but I was away on vacation, so I didn't care. I stopped in last Friday because I was having an issue that I figured out was contributed to by my hose. So I left my job and ran down to All Brand and the 2 guys there told me I would have to leave my entire vacuum for 2 WEEKS. All I wanted was a hose and this one guy just wanted to argue with me and I ended up leaving. But I have found out the reason that All Brand is going to the dogs. The new owner owns a vacuum shop in Bangor and his "staff" aren't qualified to fix any vacuums. Hell, they couldn't even get me a hose for my vacuum. The owner drives down every 2 weeks to repair what they have. I found a hose that day at the Vacuum Doctor (885-5355) who has a shop in Scarborough and in Windham. They are staffed to repair a vacuum or replace a hose 6 days a week, and they are friendly, and caring. And if you're going to spend big bucks for a Miele, you want a company to stand behind their product. So if you want great customer service and competent people check out Vacuum Doctor. read more

Our Miele vacuum didn't seem to have good suction so I called my neighborhood shop to inquire about service costs. The man I spoke to told me the basic service rate was $35, which was what most vacuums would require, and if my machine required anything more than $65, they would call me first. I dropped the vacuum off the next day, left a deposit and waited for a call. Just over a week later, we are presented with a nearly $90 bill. Without contacting me at all, they performed all kinds of fluff tasks, replacing a carbon filter that should only be replaced annually (we've only had the unit a matter of months) and charging me $40 for it when the filter is easily found online for $25. Additional fees for "lubrication" and even replacing the bag, which was mostly empty when I dropped it off. Enjoy your $90 All Brand Vacuum - it will be the last thing I ever drop off to you slime bags. read more

All Brand Vacuum is really very terrific. i have a Eureka vacuum and i needed parts. i called Eureka and they said they no longer make my parts, but suggested All Brand. (and mega customer service points to Eureka for the recommendation!!) so i popped into All Brand with my vacuum and they found all the parts i needed within about 5 minutes. so fast! so inexpensive! bonus: i was prepared to buy a certain part, but the guy at the counter actually talked me out of it because the new filter i wanted made the other problem go away. i would not have known this, and i really appreciate his honest business dealings and his vacuum knowledge. go here and then go vacuum your house, sooner and cheaper than you thought would be possible. read more

I have a rainbow vacuum that needed a repair on its power nozzle that is the recommended attachment used for carpet and rug cleaning. They quoted me at 300+ dollars to repair it so I declined on having them do the repair. I went in to pick up my vacuum and realized it wasn't mine, it was very similar however not the vacuum I dropped off. They were very hostile and aggressive also loud and cursing at me stating that it was in fact my vacuum and to leave I was not allowed in the store again. They called the police and I was able to state my case but couldn't prove the unit wasn't mine. I recommend not doing business with these crooks they are very unkind to say the least and now I have a lesser unit that I have no idea who it belongs to. I had two vacuums that no longer worked properly - a Dyson upright ($$$) and a handheld Eureka ($). I suspected the Dyson was fixable but wasn't sure what it would take, but was pretty sure the Eureka was trash. It was originally a $40 vacuum so, not a huge deal if it was dead. I brought them into All Brand Vacuum yesterday to see what they could do, and was very pleased to find that not only were both fixable, but they were able to fix them on the spot, for free! Apparently both had clogged bits in them that I had missed, despite my having tried to take them apart and clean them. To have them fixed at all was a bit of a surprise, to have them fixed on the spot was a delight, and to have the owner refuse payment (the servicing took about 10 minutes for both) was shocking. I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I can't wait until I need to buy a new vacuum so I can support this awesome local business. I was preparing myself mentally to buy a new vacuum, so had actually started researching the brands they carry (Miele & Sebo) and was ready to buy if it came to that (look like awesome vacuums). They also rent carpet cleaners, so I'll be back to rent one of those soon and will be using them for basically any floor cleaning needs ever. Please do yourself a favor and check these guys out. If you're like me, you've been driving by for years wondering what that business was and how they stay open. I hope they're open forever. While I was there another customer came in for some parts and was raving about the vacuum she bought from them and how her mother just bought a different vacuum at Sears and was mad at herself for not buying from All Brand, since the quality was so obviously inferior. Two years ago, I was in need of a very good and reliable vacuum that would be used on a daily basis in the clubhouse for the Portland Sea Dogs. I spoke to a sales representative and the owner of All Brands and explained to them exactly what my needs were and what kind of dirt and conditions I encounter every day. I was advised to buy a SEBO Vacuum and it was presented to me as the best vacuum I could buy for what I needed. The owner claimed I would never need to buy another vacuum again. So I spent the $500... It worked great for one season and then started to breakdown a lot. Two weeks ago I took it in for the fourth time and spent $94 to get fixed. The first time I used it, it immediately started smoking and parts started falling off the bottom around the brush. I took it in again and asked what needed to be done to make the machine work as promised. It was explained to me that there was nothing that could be done because I was clearly not using it for its intended purpose. I explained that the intended purpose was exactly the reason why I spent $500 on the SEBO to begin with, and they said no, this SEBO was all wrong for the job. They then attempted to sell me a Back Pack Vacuum for $400, and refused to even consider accepting the piece of junk SEBO as a trade in. Later that day, the repairmen called and advised me that the motor was burned out and the vacuum was shot. I believe the owner of All Brand intentionally steered me towards an expensive machine he knew would not be suitable for my needs. That's right...he intentionally ripped me off. During the baseball season, I speak to hundreds of people on a weekly basis when the team is in town. Not only will I never spend another dime in All Brands, I warn anyone who is thinking about getting a new vacuum or is needing repairs to stay away from All Brands. I purchased a Rhino cordless vac, took it home and returned it within 15 of purchase after reading negative reviews online. The store manager would not give me my money; back only store credit. I had not opened the box and the vacuum was out of the store for 15 min. He was very rude and disrespectful. He is the son of the owner. I had been going to that business for years to purchase my Kirby cleaner bags and to have my vacuums serviced. I will now never go back. One of the worst experiences. Customer service was awful. My husband bought a central vac Monday morning. That afternoon I got home and my Husband said the cost was $700 but that they could rebuild the old one for $300+. The new one was way more expensive than I thought, so I called the store that same day to say I would prefer to do the rebuild. They then told me that the purchase was non-refundable. At no time was my husband told this, and it wasn't on the receipt. The managers response was "too bad, I don't care if it was 5 minutes or 6hrs, no refunds. the policy is posted at the counter," He actually yelled at me on the phone. I took my classic Riccar to the Waterville store on a Tuesday. I was a little uneasy because the woman running the shop seemed frazzled and more concerned with "working on the quarterly taxes" than tending to me and the other customer. She even tried to put my tag on the wrong vacuum. I was told that I'd be called with an estimate by Saturday. Two weeks later no word so I called and was told my vacuum was all ready to go. I tried it before I left and found it was making the same screeching sound. The same woman said that it was the motor, and that it was hard to know how long it would last but it could go a while. Not that they told me that before starting repairs. Instead of calling me for instructions they said they changed the filters and lubed and such, so I had the choice of leaving the vacuum there or paying the $50 bucks to take it home. I chose the latter, which I shouldn't have, as I doubt if it will last the month. read more

This place has gone downhill fast. The service is horrible! We bought a central vacuum from them and they installed. It is under warranty and we have had nothing but trouble with it. The repair guys whom we have dealt with initially were great, but now the owner's son is in there and service is non existent. The whole unit died 4 days before Christmas and he told us it would be 10 to 12 days before they would even look at it. It is still under warranty, so I asked if he could at least loan out a vac to use in the mean time. He has no personal skills and should not be in front of the public. Later he called my husband and told him to come pick it up and he refused to do the warranty work! We took it to the Vac Shack in Lewiston and they diagnosed it in one day! It's worth the drive to Lewiston. Wish I had know that before spending nearly $2,000 on a vacuum. Do your homework before steppping foot in that place. The owners are slimy. read more
