I had an amazing experience brining in Buddy ; a dog I help to care for.He is a Maltese/poodle mix who was desperately in need for a grooming . It had been about 6 months and his hair is like wool and severely matted . What a great experience. I was able to get a next day appointment for a full service treatment Upon arrival at 0815 I was greeted kindly with positivity. My dog was let into the greeting area and seemed very at ease. This place is awesome!! I have a huge Newfoundland puppy that nobody wanted to groom. Luckily Jen was willing to groom my pup without hesitation. She got us in quickly and I felt completely comfortable leaving my dog with her. Absolutely wonderful! We took our three pups in for a much-needed professional grooming. We've been taking them to Pet Express ourselves since since we moved too far from our previous groomer. Our pups (an older German Shepherd and two 50 pound mixed breed) were at ease with everyone who worked there and with the other pups hanging out inside on a rainy day. We were told it would take a little longer than normal since it was such a wet day and our large dogs needed time to dry before a proper grooming, they really know what they're doing! The owner also told us about an excellent product to help our German Shepherd with her arthritis pain. We bought it, and it has made a HUGE difference for our girl. Everyone was so kind and helpful. When we came back to get our pups...WOW!! They looked like different dogs! We thought we had been doing a decent job keeping them clean, but they looked like supermodels walking out of that place! All the shedding fur was gone, nails trimmed, coats perfectly brushed...and all three dogs looked happy, which was the most important thing for us. We were told we can bring our pups back in a few weeks to get their nails touched-up free of charge...and the pups were given yummy treats on their way out. Such a great feel at this place, everyone was kind, relaxed, professional...and most importantly, they were so good to our pups! I had the best experience with grooming today. I woke up to my teacup Pomeranian's hair in knots. I put a harness on her for the first time and I think I left it on too long after our walk. It could've permanently damaged my dogs fur. I tried to brush it out myself but I was afraid I was going to make matters worse. I called in and the owner told me to come in ASAP. I felt they were there for me and made sure they had an opening I am a new owner of a Pomeranian and I have read that the fur can get permanently damaged easy. I expressed that to her while I was dropping off my dog and she reassured me she would call me before doing anything. She called me and even text message me with updates on how my dog was doing. I never leave my dog anywhere and for the first time I felt really safe with them. This is my dog's second experience at the groomers. We're back in the baby business with my 8-month old yorkie who got very nicely socialized to people at home, but somehow we missed the boat on doggy-to-doggy socialization. Hope offered to keep her for me and I was happy to accept. This dog is so very attached to me (and vice versa), we've hardly spent a day away from each other. The right medicine: go spend the day with Auntie Hope and your doggy peers. It had been a while, so I spent about half a day out there, and was as pleased as I had been in the past. The big dog yard contains some smaller dogs who think they're labradors. They chase tennis balls and each other all day. When it gets warm enough, there's a pool for the water-loving dogs and bobbing-for-toys for the less water-friendly types. Hope gives them treats and somehow manages to remember who needs what - you can bring your dogs' meals or specific treats they need if they have food issues (don't we all?) ... she's doing me a great service, and I am grateful. Kathleen has been my doggy guru for years and years, and it is her usual genius that invited Hope to establish the daycare on site. What a gift! If you have hairy beasts like mine, you can have them groomed before you pick them up. What's not to love?? read more
