Dr. Chavkin put all my implant's in my mouth. Uppers and lowers. They all went bad once to at least three time each tooth. Infections, implants falling out left. One large implant left a large hole in my upper jaw into me nostal which I'm stilling trying to repair. Stay away, He shouldn't have a license to perform surgery. He removes your old teeth then puts in cadava bone then the implant at the same sitting. He doesn't wait for healing process. Rush Rush pay me. read more

It's difficult saying "oral surgery is great" it is NOT fun! It's anything but (although other types of surgery can be MUCH worse). When talking about oral surgery we need to differentiate it from a walk in the park, or a holiday festival. Dr. Chavkin is the 3rd dentist at All County to work on me (he follows in the footsteps of Drs. Tullman & Collucio (Sp?) . My most recent experience was perhaps a year ago. I had one of my big teeth yanked (extracted if you insist) & an anchor installed in my jaw. This required some bone grafting as well. The overall process is slow w w w. It takes several visits spaced well apart. After the anchor is in place a "top side" dentist has to design the upper (visible) part of the replacement tooth, & install it. Some background about me. I'm a devout coward. When it comes to pain I want no part of it. I'm probably one of those patients that dentists dread working on...... although I've never bitten one.....so I guess some patients are worse than I am. My previous tooth replacement was a success. It's been around a year & the replacement works great AND NO PAIN! Now it's time to go back for the next one, or, 2 or 3... replacements. I have great confidence in Dr. Chavkin, but it's ME that I'm worried about. The office staff went beyond to help me with a denial of one of my extractions. They kept me well informed. I highly recommend going to Dr Chavkin to have a tooth extracted. In the past I've had other experiences that were horrible. Dr Chavkin is so calm and gentle that I felt no pain and was very impressed with his presentation. This made me feel relaxed, and comfortable. I needed a tooth extracted which would have required sedation. The office refused to even inquire if my medical insurance would have covered the sedation. They refused to accept recent xrays which I tried to provide I live alone and have no family in the area. I explained this to them in addition to explaining that I could easily arrange transportation after the surgery. After charging me for new panoramic xray and an examination, they refused to do the surgery because I had no one to accompany me after the procedure. I had 3 wisdom teeth pulled and received general anaesthesia (first time ever being out to sleep for a procedure). My oral surgeon, Brittany Ecker was really great. She put me totally at ease about both the procedure and going under for the first time. the procedure went perfectly. barely any pain or swelling afterwards. Once again, Dr. Chavkin and his team have amazed me with their professionalism and kind bed-side manner that makes an impacted wisdom tooth procedure "easy" (for me that's hard to say because I'm such a anxious, phobic dental patient). I had an oral surgery for an extraction of a impacted upper wisdom tooth on July 28th and was a little skeptical since I had a family cruise to Bermuda planned 2 weeks later but with Dr. Chavkin I knew I was going to be in good hands. Procedure and protocol was the same as previous office visits. I did opt to have IV Sedation once again (I really recommend it if you're anxious or as nervous/scared in the dental setting as I am). You come in, greeted by the front desk staff, fill out any necessary paperwork and have a seat in the waiting room. Next, you're called in by a surgical tech and they help prep you for the IV as Dr. Chavkin comes in to greet you. Walking from the front desk to the dental chair is usually very nerve wracking for me but I knew I'd be fine. I've had many very traumatic dental experiences as a child, everything from being force-ably held down to screaming and crying in the chair which is why I prefer to do any oral surgery procedures with IV Sedation. With IV Sedation, you literally don't even remember any of the procedure or what really went on. All I honestly remember is having the IV inserted, along with the nasal tubes (smelling something sweet and airy) the room getting dizzy then waking up. It's that incredible. I am currently 5 weeks post-op and healing quite well. No infections, soreness or anything. I had a little bit of swelling on day 2-4 but that was about it. I was on pain medication for about 3-4 days and antibiotics for 10 days (it could of been 5 days with azithromycin but I prefer liquid amoxicillin). The only thing that can be annoying is that you may need to rinse more often or use a pointed syringe (I bought mine on Amazon) because food can still get stuck in the hole where the tooth was extracted. Overall, another wonderful experience with Dr. Chavkin and his team. I am so glad I switched over from my other oral surgery office, you truly get treated so well and his work is spot on. They are actually opening up another office in Great Neck on Sept. 5th which shows that they're quite successful. They are also very active on Facebook and Instagram if you ever have a question. I have 1-2 more oral surgeries in my future and I know that I can trust Dr. Chavkin and his team with it. With many other younger cousins who will evidently face wisdom tooth extractions, I will definitely refer them to him. As someone who has had overall 4 separate oral surgeries with IV Sedation (2 done at another office and 2 done with Dr. Chavkin) within the past year and a half, I would definitely say that I quite experienced. After sending me to the wrong office and wasting half of a day of work..they sent me to the "right" office , scheduled an appointment and wasted 2 weeks for them to call me a day before to tell me it's going to be an additional $750 for the extraction and had the nerve to ask me if I want to come to a consultation anyway..so they can charge the insurance for a visit ...for a treatment they tried to swindle me for 750$ they didn't said when I scheduled the appointment...scammers. read more

Just got my tooth extracted, and it was super quick. I am in minimal pain and the tooth is out!

Everything was fine until that actual operation. I had to get a wisdom tooth extracted, and thus had to be sedated. I've never been sedated before and as nervous, but only imagine a few embarrassing moments to happen while under. I'm put under and out cold for the operation. Only to come out of sedation with the doctor absolutely livid with me. He yelled at me and said my behavior was unexpectable. I, with the accompanied grog of just waking from sedation, had no idea what he was talking about, and questioned why he was yelling so unprofessionally all. All he could say was it was my fault. Apparently, during my unconsciousness, I was trashing and screaming and making their work generally more difficult. Of course I was embarrassed and remorseful, but how am I to know what my sedated self is doing, and what pains its reacting to? That didn't matter to the dentist. he continued to yell and claim this was all my fault. I left crying. I payed 1000 out of pocket for them to do a job, not to be verbally abused by them. What he should have done, the professional thing to do, was quietly explain to me the circumstances, and I would have desperately apologized for the actions I had no control over. But no, the man decided to verbally abuse and humiliate me. Would not recommend coming here, and I recommend that 'man' takes a few courses in emotional maturity, and how to talk to patients. 5/2019 I feared having an extraction of a tooth under my 3 unit bridge that was infected for months! Dr. Chavkin assured me it would be a 1-2-3 procedure, over before I would know it. He was right! I wish I had had Dr. Chavkin, however I had Dr. Vivian Lim. Last month, I had four teeth extracted and it took some time to do them all. By my fourth tooth, my novacaine was wearing off. I was raising my hand and trying to signal Dr. Lim that I was in discomfort. She didn't stop to inquire if I was alright. She dug deep and finished the extraction. I complained to her that I felt the last extraction, she brushed it off and said, "No you couldn't have felt anything." I was given two little squares of gauze for my four bleeding spots. No one instructed them that I needed gauze for four teeth. I didn't have a wonderful visit. Sorry for the not so great review! read more

For anyone considering getting a dental implant I am highly recommending Dr. Chavkin. His office consistently honors your appointment time. The receptionists are all very helpful and pleasant. The office is very modern, state of the art. My dental implant procedure was fast and completely painless, NO pain at all. When I had some concerns over the first few days I was able to reach the doctor off hours by phone/text. Dr Chavkin was very nice and reassuring. Average exeperience. Nothing extra ordinary. Beware for they would want you to pay for 3D xtray and they'll come up with reasons why you needed to, and have you pay about 300$ which insurance don't usually covers. I have my two (2) wisdom tooth pull and for each I have to pay additional $100 for and they will come up with a reason why you have to pay that as well. It's mandatory. In addition, you have to pay your copay. I had tooth extraction and a wisdom tooth pulled before but never did I have to pay about $590 for the procedure considering I have insurance. I know I could have just walk away but I proceeded anyway. However, for those patients that may not know and not prepared to pay at least for the 3D xray pls be aware that there's more to pay when you come in for procedure. So at least you're prepared because I wasn't. I asked when I set up the appt how much will I pay and was told that just my copay. The surgeon was kind so that's a good thing read more

my experience at the JERICHO office ny...had an appointment on april 14th at 12 noon ...i could not make the earkier appointment as i was unwell ...the dates given were very late as they said they are VERY BUSY,,,called on april 14th...rather sent a msg,saying i am a cpa and was busy with taxes ,,and if i could come at 1 pm ...for an xray only..of my own volition...they said NO as the doctor was out for lunch 1 to 2..for a later appt.they said NO and that they were fully booked...finally made it at 11 45am ..submitted the forms filled out in advance and waited ...waited ...waited ...till 1.15pm...there were only 2 patients other than me one be4 and one after ...at 1.15 i was asked to wait ...in the room ...the latter patient was called in and that persons xray was attack\hed to my papers ..then the nurse came and took it out and left ...at 1.25 i DECIDED to leave ..ripped up the paper work and told them that they DARE not claim anything from the insurance company and that i would advise them about my experience.OVERALL they seemed to me like scammers in terms of creating a feeling that they are very BUSY etc ..the front desk lady ..one of them ..MOST curt and unfriendly ..as was my experience the first time i visited them personally to make am appointment ...i was told that they were busy to give me a date ...and that i should CALL ...haha ...what a joke...i was there in person!!!!i called on following monday and appt. was set for april 14th eventually after i postponed the march date ....very SAD experience to say the least ...very unprofessional /unfriendly read more

Had a tooth extraction done today by Dr. Jared Miller and his wonderful assistant. They did an excellent job in prepping me and removing one of my back molars. The procedure took 45 minutes and was a lot less painful then I had anticipated. I was told how to insure I would heal properly and left the office confident that all was well. Today Satuday 10/19/19 I just had my two upper wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Vivian Lim, For years I had been so concerned about the process but thanks to Dr. Lim and her staff they melted that fear away. Once I was seated everything happened so quickly; I was greeted warmly by Dr. Lim and then I was given a couple of shots of novocaine. Before I knew it my 2 wisdom teeth were successfully removed and I was given my treatment care package to help start my healing. All in all, it was not half bad, In fact, it was much easier than I thought it was going to be and I can't thank Dr. Lim and her kind and friendly staff enough for their kindness, professionalism and efficiency!
