My cat was a patient here for five years, she was recently seen by a different vet, who recommended a surgery that went wrong and performed procedures I did not approve, and then never returned three emergency texts and calls, nor apologized for a number of issues that put my cat in jeopardy. Which led me to complain and raise a number of issues; which led me to discover this is not my local queer inclusive accountable vet but actually a part of A CHAIN and just another capitalistic infrastructure that has zero local accountability to the animals and people that trust them. Go here at your own risk **Update: MAH escalated this to the corporate entity that owns them, who outsourced it to a claims specialist to assess risk of lawsuit. There was low risk assessed, so therefore no apology, accountability, or restitution. When my one cat passed and my anxiety was heightened regarding my other cats, they were understanding. They take time to explain things in a way that makes sense. No- the office is not "money hungry." Plenty of times, I have called and asked if certain things are worth coming in for or if can be treated at home. The office will call back in a timely manner, and advise me after consulting with a doctor or tech. They have helped my pets and I avoid many trips (financially great but my guys now hate car rides) Even after moving, I kept coming here. Talk about a new world! For the first time, my cat wasn't feral in the foyer or with any of the vets and staff at Rhinebeck Animal Hospital. The level of caring, compassion, knowledge, and experience by every one of the staff at Rhinebeck Animal Hospital is stellar. I realized what a sh*tshow Community Animal Hospital is in comparison! Customarily, my cat has to be sedated and contrary to Community Animal Hospital, it didn't take 1-2 days but 1-2 hours to recover. There's a lot more, especially paying 67% less on fees - the estimates were right on target unlike Community Animal Hospital which changes estimates on a whim. Most importantly, I was informed that my cat's lab work revealed a reversal of his kidney disease in the one year since he's been a patient at Rhinebeck Animal Hospital. That's not only a miracle, but a testimony to them!

Years ago this was a pretty good vet, then they got bought out, and since i have never seen the same DVM two years running. Took my dog in today to get bloodwork done, and to get a lump tested to see if if she has cancer again. The new, very young vet listened to me explain the reasons i had come in (for maybe $500-600 worth of services), and responded by trying to upsell me on testing/meds for osteoarthritis. For context, i have never been to this office without several upselling attempts by staff. I explained that i was looking at a very expensive visit today, likely followed by thousands of dollars of cancer treatment, and that i was not interested in discussing arthritis today. The vet had no idea about testing costs, so someone else was brought in to explain that. There was a long pause, and then the office manager came, and reproved me at great length, in very vague and confusing language, for being dismissive to her staff, and told me i was free to leave with no charges if i wanted to. I said that i would rather proceed with getting the services that i came in for. Apparently this was the wrong answer. She then told me that they did not want to provide me with any services. A thoroughly weird experience.

I was using this company for many years without problem until I had a situation with an aggressive…read moregroomer I had my dog removed from that groomers table and took the dog home reached out to the owner the owner gave me a free nail trim I was satisfied with the nail trim and thought our problems were behind us until September 30th I took my dog there again for the regular nail trim he doesn't like to have his nails trimmed so he is muzzled but I heard him scream like I've never heard him scream before today's day too he's just started to walk he has a terrible limp he hid under the bed the rest of the night I never had a problem with this company prior to the aggressive groomer incident so I gave it a second chance and now my dog is injured never trust a place that locks the door so you can't see what the groomers are doing I should have listened to my dog he told me the first time he didn't want to go back I'm going to see where I can post a video so you can all see how my dog is 48 hours after that grooming it's just heartbreaking I will no longer be using or recommending their services mind you the owner new that she had an aggressive groomer she said she's just loud and that's quite unsatisfactory after she yelled at me for taking my dog back from her table. She came, met with my wife and my 3 bully breed dogs. They are scary looking but are sweet hearts. Irene was comfortable with dogs and dogs were comfortable with Irene. She came by house 3 times a day to walk and feed them. She hung out with them so they wouldn't be alone all day long. She even FaceTime my wife while she was with them to give a check in. People who know me know that I love my dogs like my kids. Irene went above and beyond. Her prices are very reasonable and will use her services again. I highly recommend Irene.
