The Family Companion actually holds classes at multiple locations across Western New York, and the class I took was at their location on Southwestern Blvd. Their classes are all generally 8 weeks in length and they offer puppy training classes, senior dog training, the family companion class, graduate companion as well as others like therapy and an agility fun course. My dog and I did the family companion class with Kim Sauer. There were a total of 9 dogs in the class so it wasn't overcrowded which was great for my dog, who has some anxiety issues among other dogs/strangers. The instructor was incredibly patient, knowledgable and friendly. If anyone had a question or issues with anything, she took the time to assist and explain things adequately. I can't wait to get into our next class here and would highly recommend this facility to those looking for a good place to train their dog. They're also very reasonably priced which is a definite bonus!

I took him to this class with 6 other dogs and their owners and initially he was shaking and panting and yawning and would not even take a treat or look at me during the first session. Marcia was so patient and encouraging and you could tell she really cared. After the course my dog was completely paying attention to me, not shaking, panting, or yawning. He learned most of the common commands when he didn't know any to begin with. Such a great class for such a reasonable price!

He said they /just know/ that when he's holding the stick that he's powerful but that's absolute crap, that is not normal behavior for a dog, who would generally LIKE sticks and stick-like objects. I hope for the dogs' sake that he's changed but for the dogs' sake he deserves this review. When we drop her off now, 7 months later, she hops out of the car and is so excited. She is definitely tired after and sleeps the rest of the day. They also have dog grooming on site which is so convenient. I have never had an issue to this point where I feel uncomfortable about dropping her off. The reviews for Paws Play and Stay are for a different facility than PAWS Canine Activity Center. I'm not sure what I could say about PAWS that my dog Bailey hasn't already said about Fetch 'n Catch (you can read her review under the Yelp listing for Fetch 'n Catch). This place is run by a fun, energetic, dedicated staff of dog-lovers. Their hours are super convenient and the service they provide is unmatched. Before I found Fetch 'n Catch / PAWS, I was paying a local dog walking company over $30 for a thirty-minute walk. For not much more, Bailey gets an entire day of exercise and learning. We reinforce her door manners and commands at home, and she's a much happier dog because of it. It's also really convenient to be able to get Bailey's baths, nail trimmings, and tooth brushings done on her school days. We do our booking online, but you can also call, text, or stop in. I recommend PAWS / Fetch 'n Catch to every dog owner I meet. They are worth their weight in gold!

Found this location online, needed a one day a week daycare for our 4 month old Beagle puppy, and wanted it for his socialization as well. Took him for a meet and greet and he did great (as we expected!), we set up a half day introductory daycare appt and two full days after that, as that is what they require. After the first half day, I was informed at pick up that he wasn't a good fit because he barked during crate time and it was an anxious "attention getting" bark. They offered to try a 2nd half day to try a quieter crating area. Within 1 hour of drop off I was called to pick him up since NOW he was barking during play. I was told to call upon arrival because the door would be locked since they had him secluded in the empty grooming salon, alone. Unbelievable. When someone came to open the door they were carrying our puppy as if to shove him in my arms the moment I entered. I was told he was too anxious for daycare, but was a good dog and not aggressive. I was told he "missed his mommy" when I left and that I should try taking him to public places for socialization, as well as separating from him more often. I was VERY confused since he has been left at a dogsitters home for 2 full weekends in the 2 months we have had him and he did just fine both times for 3 days each time... and they welcome him back. This puppy goes EVERYWHERE... from the park to Home Depot to Target and allll the area pet stores... he's on a first name basis with much of the staff at Cabela's! I would never want my dog to be under any kind of stress, but I would think it is pretty common for ANY puppy to show some kind of anxiety during their first few days of daycare. I am terribly disappointed that nothing was done to try and get our dog acclimated to daycare, and the best option was to resort to putting him in a crate in an empty room alone. Very disappointed that they seemed to quickly dismiss our dog.

He has no idea that it's actually helping him with his walking and muscle building, he just thinks it's a party every time! The owners MaryBeth and Phil, and their staff are amazing and really know what they are doing. They are very compassionate about their work and helping dogs with everything from rehabilitation, physical therapy, to exercise. The business is so popular, that they are almost always full, so if you are a new client, you may need to wait a month or two to get in. However, for those of us that are regulars, and/or have been coming for years, they try to be a little more accommodating. The pool is an indoor, heated pool that is neither chlorine or salt. It's a more advanced filtration system that doesn't require harsh chemicals to clean the water. But the water IS very clean, and the facility is just beautiful. Whatever your dogs needs, this is the place to go. They provide life vests of all sizes, as their "clients" come in all sizes from Chihuahuas, to Newfoundlands. If your dog is not fond or scared of water, they'll work with them to slowly ease them into the water, not forcing them to go in until they are ready. Just a great place overall, I highly recommend them!
