I stopped in yesterday for my hair appointment with my sweet hair stylist Jules, who just opened up a chair at Tribal Salon & Spa! She removed my 22" sew-in Bellami Hair extensions and used a permanent dye for Chocolate Brown Hair. For the haircut I asked for Face-Framing Layers. I love the color and cut, just in time for Fall too! This is a kid-free salon, so daddy and daughter time for our 2 girls while I got pampered for 1.5 hours! Very open, clean and nice and relaxing inside! First time I've seen footstools at a hair washing station, aura mist for salon capes, complimentary fall drinks, yummy snacks and after your visit, bath salts to take home! I booked a consultation with the owner Rose and she recommended one of her stylist cut my hair because she was great with curly hair . She was confident I would get a personal call when her stylist returned from her week vacation . So then it was crickets, after 2-3 weeks went by I called the stylist myself . She said she was finishing a client and would get back with me . Crickets again , now we are at approximately 5-6 weeks, my hair is so overgrown. Took the bull by the horns and sent a text to the recommended stylist hoping for some kind of response by now . She apologizes and says , " Rose didn't call you ?" I said no , no one has . She told me she couldn't cut my hair because of a health situation and is not taking new clients . I understood the stylist's explanation but feel there was no follow through and this was very unprofessional. Especially when given my consultation it was explained that my haircut appointment would cost $200. If you are going to charge these prices I feel that the professionalism should be such . read more

I paid 1800+ for professional hair extensions and a balayage, expecting high quality band new hair, proper color blending, and correct installation. Within 24 hours several peices had fallen out. The hair was coarse, frizzy, poorly matched, and she placed several strips on my part line?? it was just bad. Unwearable and uneven. The adhesive was lifting and was not completed as discussed. I missed nearly a weeks worth of work, hundreds in sales, all while trying to get this corrected elsewhere. I am just shocked that they thought they could pass this off as acceptable. I hate leaving bad reviews which is why I waited several weeks before posting to process my emotions. I had been seeing Sera for several months & no problems. I trusted that she was a master stylist and owner. Until most recently my hair was completely butchered & I have been so depressed & insecure since that day. I can't stand looking at myself in the mirror with the hair I have now. I have always had beautiful hair & now it's chopped & layered to the high heavens. I asked to shorten my hair about 1.5 inch w/same long layers. I completely bawled my eyes out with the results. I went back for a "fix" & felt like I was being gaslit the whole time. Saying things like "you just don't know how to straighten your hair," "you have curly/wavy hair" [I barely have a wave, mostly straight, fine, thick hair]. And even more anxious hearing "I'm not sure what to do...this is a challenge." The fix resulted in more chopping that I had to ask to stop and left devastated. I got a refund but I have spent soooo much money to get it corrected as much as possible & clip in extension & sadly i don't like the clip in extensions. I cannot afford tape in extensions otherwise that would be my go to. My hair had to be cut so short because of how badly layered/chopped it is. It is going to take soooo long for this to grow out & I have a wedding to be in 1 month. This has been the most traumatizing hair experience of my life. First pic [sunglasses] is my hair before the cut, 2nd pic is what I came home to, 3rd &4th pic is Sera's "corrected" cut, and last pic is the final cut from another stylist. Before this event, I had no concerns and loved the coloring she did. Fun/bubbly personality. It's been a Truly disappointing experience. SHANNON SHANNON! This girl went above and beyond for my appointment. I ended up changing my mind last minute of what I wanted to do for my hair which I can understand can be frustrating, considering hair stylists schedule out their appointments according to the amount of time an appointment would take. Shannon was so so excited I wanted to do something different with my hair and made sure to show me color examples before starting. Not once did I feel like I was a burden for changing my mind and I absolutely appreciate that considering this was a treat to myself for my birthday. She took her time and absolutely slayed!!! Shannon is the best and is so talented at what she does!!! I'm in love with my hair, thank you so much girl!!! Definitely check her out for all your hair needs. I don't want to brag, but my hair for my wedding was FLAWLESS. I've been having Rose do my hair for I don't even know how many years now, but when I got engaged I knew I needed her to do my hair for my wedding! She helped me to make sure that my hair length would be where I wanted it to be and made sure to cut it early enough that it would still look healthy but not super short or anything. She had me find references of not only styles I might like, but also color wise how I wanted it to be. Rose always makes you feel great about yourself and your hair and my wedding day felt no different. It was so nice to be able to relax and know that nothing was going to go wrong with my hair. It was absolutely beautiful. She taught my maid of honor how to put my veil in and take it out without wrecking anything, too. My husband and I had a first look out in a windy meadow before our ceremony, and Rose met me at our venue to fix my hair again before the ceremony that way it would be flawless. I received so many compliments on how beautiful my hair looked and how much people loved the way it was put back. Rose stayed on schedule with ease in getting all six of my bridesmaids done, my dad, our officiant, our flower girl and myself done on time. If you need bridal hair I would 110% recommend Rose. And if you don't need bridal hair, but just regular hair, I would still 110% recommend Rose! read more

Firstly, you cannot get ahold of anyone via phone. When you call the machine tells you to go online and get matched with a stylist on their website. So, I did that. I answered the questions about my hair type and the cut and color I wanted. I was "matched" with 3 different potential stylists. So I reviewed their info and Instagram pictures to see which one could do what I wanted. But there was no way to pick one. They just said they would be in touch. I thought a receptionist might call and ask who I preferred out of the 3 stylists the website matched me with. A week goes by and I finally get a call from one of the 3 stylists I was matched with, Kristie. She said she was calling to make an appointment with her. It was very awkward and uncomfortable having to explain to her that I actually wanted Brittany (one of the other 3 matched to me) because her info and Instagram pictures 100% matched what I wanted. Kristie seemed offended and irritated. She changed from friendly to bitter and dismissive. She said she would give my contact info to Brittany and Brittany would be in touch. I never heard back. I called and left a message to follow-up. I never heard back. I'm not sure what business practice this is, but I've never experienced it before. Why not just let people call and schedule with the stylist they want? Why have 3 potential stylists assigned to a client on your website when you're just going to make the choice, instead of the clients choice? The whole process and experience was so uncomfortable and unprofessional, I would never recommend this salon to anyone. Which is a shame because from the pictures, it seems like some of the stylists are very good. read more

I set up an appointment with Megan for the works: haircut, bayalage, and keratin. She is fairly new to the studio but has worked in the industry for year. I was really hesitant to get bangs, but she helped me decide to go for it. She was very meticulous with the way she did everything and always checked up on me to see how I was doing. I was there for 7 hours, basically a full work day, but it was worth it. The space is tucked inside a small complex. I came here to get a haircut and their website had a little questionnaire that would match you to a stylist depending on what you were wanting. I got Makena and she did an absolutely AMAZING job! She listened to my needs and did exactly what I was wanting! I really needed my hair thinned out because it's so darn thick and I didn't want much off the ends, just a little trim to keep the ends healthy. My hair feels I much better and thinner now and I am loving it! She also toned it a bit to get some brassy tones out of my blonde hair and she styled it at the end and gave me a beachy wave look which I have never been able to accomplish and not only that but she also told me what she was doing so I could achieve the same look at home when I do it myself. Nikki is amazing! After several years of terrible haircuts, I was desperate for someone who could finally do a good job with my wavy/kinky hair. I wanted to use Instagram to find someone because it was super important for me to see pictures of someone's work before going to them, so that I had an understanding of what I would be getting. It was helpful that her Instagram had pictures of all kinds of different cuts and colors that she's done. Nikki is friendly, and super understanding. I make sure to give her as much detail as I can, but she is very easy to communicate to. Every time I see her, she makes a point of understanding what I want and she describes things to me as she goes along. She never seems annoyed or irritated by all my question, instead she seems excited to explain how things work, how to style, etc. I'm glad I found her and hopefully I never have to find another stylist. :) read more

Salon was great! Loved the vibe and ambiance. Britt was my stylist and she was amazing! Britt did such a fantastic job. I don't think I've ever had a cut I loved so much, but here I am! The color is fantastic and she was a trooper with all my hair. It took longer than we both thought. Did she rush through and push me out? Nope! I can't say enough good things about I needed a fresh change and accomplished that thanks to her. This is such a cozy salon! Everyone that works here was so super sweet. They had many complimentary beverages to choose from. First of all I need to say that this review contains 5 stars for my stylist Rose and 5 stars for my massage specialist Jamie. Rose was fantastic helping me keep my virgin hair healthy while growing it out for my wedding. When the big day got closer I envisioned lighter locks to give me that glow. My hair hasn't been dyed in years! Rose gave me highlights and balayage EXACTLY how I wanted. The layers she gave me were perfect for the style I went for too. Now for Jamie.. Jamie gives me every bit of comfort whether I'm coming in for a relaxing massage or I've somehow linked something. She is one of those people that you instantly feel comfortable being "intimate" with- I mean in a massage you're practically naked with blankets on. 1. First experience booking was not good. Sent text to Ivy a stylist there. Absolutely no response. Sent message through yelp and got a message the next day that Ivy was out of town at a hair class and they would have her text me back. She eventually did. Booked my first appt. 2. Came in for appt. Sat there for 10 mins before anyone greeted me and asked who I was there to see. Ivy ran 20 mins late with her client in the chair but finally had my appt. She didn't greet me when I first came in, didn't apologize for running over. 3. Consult and cut went fine. Liked style and cut. Thought Ivy was nice once got through with my appt. Planned on booking again. Did feel like there was a ton of mention and push for their salon hair product line by her but that's her job. 4. Months later go by, have reached out via text to book another appt with Ivy on her personal cell twice and she just never replied to either of them. Lol. I'm done. I've never been to a salon in my entire time that I've been getting my hair done where a stylist just never responds to a paying clients request to book an appt. If you're busy on the floor with your clients and can't check your phone, cool, get that, but reply when you're done working or before you start working, just reply. It's a poor reflection not just on her personally as a stylist and her business but also the salon. That being said, the salon is cute. The owner seems like she has created a cool concept with her salon. All the stylists that were there had cute cuts, styles etc and whoever owns the salon and responded to my first message through yelp to book my first appt was fast and efficient. The owner also was the one that finally greeted me after 10 mins of sitting down on the couch when I arrived for my first appt, not my own stylist who knew I was on her books and was expecting me. I attempted to give the owner the opportunity to apologize or make this right but so far the only response I received was a message saying "we're disheartened to hear this" and a lousy excuse that new clients take longer. No, no they don't. I've never had toner left on my head for AN HOUR! Below is my message to the owner. Beware if Makena is matched with you as a blonde. Unless purple hair is your thing. I filled out the "Match with a Stylist" profile on the website and was matched with Makena for blonde hair. I was surprised to learn that she'd only been a stylist for 2 years but let her proceed. I asked for a partial highlight and trim. I tend to pull warm and let her know this as I want ash. The results are not what I was looking for. It took 4 hours for a partial and trim (this is how long it takes for a full highlight) and I spent over an hour at the wash bowl with toner and various concoctions on my head. She kept disappearing to mix more things as what she applied to my roots as base was way lighter than my natural color and was orangey. It dried ok and seemed ok when I left. She offered to redo the roots as they were definitely warm but I was skeptical as she seemed unsure of how to correct it so said I'd let her know. When I got home my husband asked why I had purple hair. The back and right side of my hair was noticeably purple where the highlights are, obviously from the toner that was left on for an hour. Over a week later and it's still purple. Overall I'm disappointed and won't be returning. I know the stylists aren't employees but the purpose of my email is to suggest you don't match Makena with blondes on the website until she gains more skill in this area or can be supervised. read more

Rose is a hair color scientist and magician! She gives my hair vibrancy with her color techniques and provides fantastic shape with each haircut. I am always so pleased with my hairstyle after a visit with Rose! Jamie is an incredible massage therapist! I have experienced several massages from different spas over the years, but nothing comes close to a deep tissue session with Jamie. She is the best. Hands down. Tribe Salon is a lovely space! Free wi-fi, coffee, cold drinks, and snacks are some of the thoughtful details the salon shares with her clientele. The natural light in this setting is so pleasing and the products smell so good.
