No, unfortunately. ALL of the NOs. I lost a TON of hair (picture me included) as a result of their inexperience. It is so hard finding anyone in the Orlando metropolitan area who not only knows how to do type 4c hair efficiently, but who also excels customer service. It seems when you finally find someone who can do foresee hair, they have the worst attitudes. So I was really excited when I found this place because they get a 9 out of 10 in customer service -I absolutely adored them. But service-wise they treated me like a guinea pig and the owner assigned me to a woman who was not skilled in relaxers nor flat iron/ silk press services. The owner supposedly had a relaxer service girl there, but for some reason she sent me to the woman who is skilled at natural hair with horrible relaxer skills. When she put the phytospecific Index 2 relaxer (I brought with me) in my hair, she washed it out before it even straightened. I even asked her before she washed it out if my hair straight and she told me "yes". (But my daughter told me later that when the relaxer was in my hair, my hair wasn't straight at all. She said it looked like I only had conditioner on natural coily hair). So I don't know what the lady was looking at, but I didn't even realize until after she was done washing, drying, and flat iron my hair that she messed up. I didn't realize that she had no idea what she was doing until during the ride back home. By the time I got home my hair was so frizzy and looked like I didn't just spend $170 (includes $30 tip) on their services! They had me return the next day so she could "fix it", and all she did was put an anti-frizz treatment in my hair like she was doing me a favor and said she wasn't going to charge me for it. That only lasted for a couple of days and my hair frizz again and so I had to spend an entire week in California on a college tour with my daughter with half kinky/coily, half relaxed hair. Keep in mind that my hair was 100% virgin before her services. First, this establishment blamed it on the specific relaxer brand (Phytospecific Index 2). Then, she blamed it on the fact that I haven't had a relaxer in 12 years and had 100% virgin hair. But had she done her research on it, she would have done a good job just like anyone else who put this in my virginity hair 13 years ago. If it was the relaxer's fault (rather than her technique, why was it super coily and patchy in some areas, and completely bone straight in other areas? My roots were bone straight for at least four inches down and the rest was coily, so I will let the pictures do the talking. From the pictures alone, does it look like the relaxer didn't straighten my hair, or does it look like improper technique? You be the judge. It took me a while to write this because I wanted to give this company a chance to resolve this issue, but they ignored all of my emails after I got back in town. At least 50% of my hair has broken off as a result of her improper relaxer technique. I am so sad about this and I will never return here again. read more

Y'all- let me just say, if you're hesitating on going here; GO. As black women/WOC, hair salons and trusting our hair care in the hands of others is too often such an unpleasant experience. I was very nervous to step foot into any salon as I haven't done so in about 8 years, and the horror stories of people having malicious stylists or unprofessional ones made it easy to stay away. This is my first time going to a hair salon since I was in highschool, and I'm not kidding when I say I will be back. The moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm welcome, smiles, and pleasantries. I received a hair consultant and like I said I'm a skeptic when it comes to hair salons so I was listening very closely to what was being said and I agreed with it all. I communicated my hair needs and they listened every step of the way and that was SO reassuring, to know someone wasn't just putting their hands in my head to mess around but listening to what I wanted and doing it professionally. They are so nice, the place is beautiful and very well kept. I got a perm touch-up and a trim and everything went so smoothly. NO CHEMICAL BURNS YAY!! I am beyond happy with my hair and I'm already planning my next visit back. I booked with Tianna and she is so nice and lovely. So disappointed, and I had such high hopes for this experience. My parent died and in a period of depression I neglected my hair. A friend had recommended All Dolled Up (ADU). She said they specialized in natural hair and it was a black owned salon. Sounded great. I made an appointment with a nice young lady and was told to come on 6.4.22 at 4:30 pm. I showed up and the store was dark and locked up tight. I called the customer service number and was told the salon had an event and was closed. I asked "why was I given an appt. if you had an event"? She said she didn't know but she could make another appt for a consultation on Wed. with a stylist named Jacquelyn. Ok, I come on Wednesday for the consultation and it went well. I wanted hair dye and a trim and she suggested a twist out. Our appt. was Friday 6.10.22 at 10:00 am. I arrived 5 minutes early to find Jacquelyn working on a another client. She says "Good Morning, I got here early so I told him to come in." I waited *20 minutes*, what the point of making an appt if I had to wait? After the false start on the previous weekend, this was troubling. When she finally got to me, she had a bright smile and I asked her for the total cost. We had discussed the hair dye and trim, but not the twist out. She said the twist out was 90 dollars. I told her that was not in the budget and I'll stay with the dye and trim. The wattage in her smile dimmed considerably and she clearly did not like the change. We did the dye job and I asked her to add on a blow out. After the blow out, she immediately started the trim ( or so I thought). I thought we would discuss how to style the hair when (with no discussion) she grabbed a jar of curling gel and slathered it all over my hair. I didn't know what to say, why did I pay for a blow out for it to be ruined/negated by curl gel? I was just stunned, the hair was not flattering at all. It was just this damp looking mass of hair. I tried to tell myself it would look better as the day went on, it did not. I washed out the gel to find a uneven, choppy afro. She did not trim my hair as requested, she chopped it up. I called the salon the next day to let them know I was unhappy and asked about what could be done. Jacquelyn called me back and was extremely dismissive. She said "I held up your hair and told you how much I was going to cut". THAT NEVER HAPPENED, I am a full figured woman who does not look good with short hair. I asked for a trim because I wanted a trim. She then went on to say, "your hair was severely damaged and I charged you for a trim when I gave you a cut". Really, you expressly went against my direct request and cut my hair. When I saw my friend later she suggested I call management since I wasn't happy with Jacquelyn's response. I did and spoke to a personable young woman named Zion. She verified my information, apologized for my experience and said I would hear from the store manager or CEO by the next day. That was Monday, 7.13.22 and as of today Sunday 7.17.22 no one has contacted me. I'm not surprised, it's just more of what I feel everyday when I struggle with my hair.....disappointed. read more

As a young black girl with natural hair, it is TERRIFYING to enter a new salon. We've all been there. I refuse to let anyone who barely speaks English cut my hair , and furthermore I refuse to let them slip unlabeled products through my hair. I refuse to sit through any embarrassment when someone who doesn't know how to detangle my hair looks frustrated with me at the bowl. I needed a safe haven and this salon is definitely it. From the moment I called the salon , I started pouring my hair's life onto stylist Stephone Munroe. Now I realize he was probably busy when I called but he sat on the phone for ten minutes not only listening but UNDERSTANDING my hair needs and fears and goals without me even being a client yet. Upon arrival I received a PRIVATE consultation where he was more specific about the steps we would take TOGETHER to reach my hair goals. My stylist explained to me everything he was going to use on my hair . He helped me to be specific in describing how wanted my hair cut . . These are simple things some stylists look over that makes a customer feel a thousand times more comfortable . THEN HE ASKED ME if i wanted my hair super bouncy or bone straight . I was in love . That was a very personal question , getting to know me , instead of slapping whatever look on me and moving to the next head. The salon is the perfect combo of professionalism and culture. Which is a perfect description of where many young black college students are trying to be. Professional and cultured. They played r&b and soul music so quietly it was calming. You get the occasional gossip which is shut down by AH that is not appropriate and tons of giggles . PERFECT. You don't feel like a stranger or a business client while you're there but they make sure they maintain a standard of professionalism. This was my first visit at the salon but they gave me a discount for being a student. I overheard a conversation with another young lady and her stylist and the stylist was there to motivate and guide her about things happening at school. They even mentioned a creative opportunity to me which shows me they are involved with our youth and being a motivational piece of so many women's lives . I'm done ranting now. Don't choose this salon only to get your hair blown out . Choose this salon and feel apart of a group that CARES about our people and our hair. I love you guys already. If I could I'd give it more stars. From the moment I called and someone picked up the phone, I felt like a valued client. The person answered with a warm greeting. I introduced myself and explained what I wanted (hair color). Normally, I accept any opportunity to utilize technology and I was thisclose to making the appointment online. I'm glad I called for the first time. Thankfully I was able to schedule a dame day appointment which was immediately followed up with a text message confirmation. The vibe in the salon is welcoming and relaxing. When I walked in the door everyone looked up and greeted me. The young lady at the reception desk smiled and made eye contact. After confirming my appointment, I filled out a brief form and was offered a refreshment. First impressions are lasting ones and my first impression with salon was nothing but positive. Then, I met my hair artist...Bailey. He introduced himself and explained that he would be doing my consultation. I was taken into another room in the salon to discuss my hair history and my expectations for the appointment. Bailey was thorough and the consultation was fun. By the time we finished, my nerves had passed and I was excited to begin. Not only was I treated to interesting conversation and a wonderful head massage during my shampooing and conditioning, I LOVE the initial color. ADU has definitely earned a repeat customer and fan! Update I 1/21/18 - The service just keeps getting better. When I first visited this salon, I wanted a drastic color change. The stylist (Bailey) assured me that we would gradually get to the color I wanted while keeping my natural hair healthy. I am thrilled with what has been done, so far. My recent color is courtesy of both Bailey and Miriam. I'd seen some of Miriam's work on the ADU Instagram and I knew right away that this newest color would be my favorite! I was right! I was looking for a place to get my hair done for my birthday. It's really hard to find a hair salon for natural African American/ black hair. I was glad when I found out that All dolled up had a Salon here in Orlando since I knew of their West Palm Beach location. Taleeuh was the hairdresser who did my hair. She was very kind and kept conversation which I appreciated greatly because I've been to salons where the person doing my hair didn't say much to me which made things awkward. The salon is very clean and organized. I would recommend this salon to anyone who is looking for a salon who accommodate African American/ black hair. The reason why I am only giving the salon four stars instead of five is the price. They are a bit pricey and being a college student I can't afford to visit them regularly. It's black owned, professional, cleans and the stylists are super sweet. Very welcoming environment. I booked my appointment online. Everything was transparent. From pricing to stylist to the company info. After booking online, I called just to make sure this was legit. The person who answered was super professional and had a great vibe. The day before my appt I received a text confirmation. Like what...where they do that at lol !!! My stylist was Amy. She was amazing! We had a hair consultation and she gave me such useful and doable instructions on managing my curly locks. The workers there are absolutely nice. However I feel kind of robbed. For starters I got a new person and although I know everyone is learning, but I did not want my own hair to be the test. Another co-worker had to assist her in trimming my hair, another one had to tell her to put oil sheen, and I simply did not get the overall beautiful feeling after my silk press. My hair was poofy by night time, and worst of all I asked to get my hair wrapped and she could not wrap it . No offense to her, she is learning. But when I set my appointment I asked for someone who knew how to do silk presses well, and I was told "we just got some new people and they are even better than the last".... Have been to ADU a few times with Kerneysha always providing good service to my hair. I decided to go with Miriam once (since I was full natural and her bio states that she specialized in it). I had a 4:15 appointment with Miriam and didn't get seen until 5 pm. There were times where I was just awkwardly waiting in the wash room to get my hair shampooed, then I was waiting in the stylist chair with dripping wet hair and not informed of what was going on. She was running behind with other clients and was trying to see us all at once. I told her I had a dinner to go to at 8 several times, but she seemed to have blown that off. I didn't get out until 10 (and missed a very important dinner)." I had my hair silk pressed and styled, which was very beautiful... until it was time to wash it out. I had heat damage and my hair smelled burnt, after several washes and deep conditioning in one day. It was so embarrassing because my husband could smell it when sitting next to me. This has never happened when I had silk presses done in the past. I wore my hair in braids for weeks in hopes of masking the smell. Kernisha of ADU does my hair in her I-Studio salon on Alafaya, which is a lot closer for me. Because Kernisha is such a great stylist, I always get lots of compliments about my hair. Kernisha is not only very professional, she's punctual, patient, kind, and accommodating. She works really fast, she's interested in my life, and she's also very encouraging. Plus, Kernisha is young, vibrant, and vivacious, but she also has a brilliant business mind. I decided to give this salon a second try because it is in my area. The first experience was horrible and the second experience was just as bad. I went the salon to get my hair lightened with a ombre look. My hair was DARKENED with a patch of red in the back. I have natural virgin hair so ok the dye was not what I asked for so I hoped the style would look professional.....nope, it looked like something I can do at home. I have zero creativity; however, I could have done at home what I paid over $115.00 to get done by a professional at a salon . I will never visit this salon again. The stylist was nice. Listening to co-workers and friends I found myself at a Dominican hair salon on the west side where my hair was ultimately fried and damaged to what I felt was beyond repair. I found All Dolled Up here on Yelp which was a total surprise as I usually only look up restaurants here, but I was desperate. Marquette has literally transformed my hair from hot mess to flowing fabulousness! My hair was so broken it had to be cut. In the course of a year and a few months my hair has grown tremendously. I understand that when you're coming to a hair salon, you might have to wait and your appointment time may be pushed a little. I'm used to that. What I don't understand is scheduling an appointment for 9 AM and having it be 10:52 and your stylist is NOT EVEN HERE. No one has said to me that SHE is running late or won't be in or even offered to take me instead. Honestly, they probably forgot I was even sitting there waiting for two hours. I've gotten no update after two hours of waiting for nothing. I liked Marquette and I thought she did a good job on my hair but I will not be returning. I waited a week for my appointment with the Natural stylist Myriam, had seen pictures of her work and was very excited. After checking, rechecking and double confirming my appointment she calls me an hour before I'm supposed to be there to cancel. She said she was running behind with her "recipes" appointments which just makes me feel as if MY appointment was important. To make things worse she now can't see me for TWO WEEKS or i can see another stylist. Very unprofessional. There is nothing special about this salon except for the location. Being on a side of town where there are few black salons, ADU makes SURE they get the most money from you! I went in to get a simple hair trim which I was told over the phone would be a little over $20.00. When I got there the renowned "Faye" did a quick hair assessment on my hair and I told her I just wanted a trim and no style. My hair was washed, I received a treatment (b/c I though my hair was damaged,) a trim, and Faye did a "twist out". Now while I knew I wouldnt be paying $20.00, since I had got the treatment, I was not nearly expected to pay what I was told. The total came to $77.00 but b/c I was a student I was charged $69.30!!!!!? I didnt know a simple wash, treatment, and hair trim could come up to almost $100.00! Furthermore, if you are a professional stylist, I would think during the evaluation of my hair (being that was my first time there,) that Faye would tell me if indeed my hair was damaged or not. While she was cutting my hair, she told me that my hair was healthy! Like wtf?! Now I paid for a treatment that I didnt even need?! Lastly, I told her that I am natural. Now this salon claims to cater to women with all hair types including natural. My definition of natural is not using any products that could damage my hair. How can this salon claim to cater to "naturalistas" when they use and sell products that contain sulfate which is one of the main ingredients that strips your hair of natural oils. Overall, this salon is nothing what it claims to be... in one sentence: "Do not waste your time OR money going to this salon." read more
