I had one of the best salon experiencies here! Quierra Roper was amazing from start to finish; I started with a free consultation to discuss the style I wanted, she helped me with picking out hair types, closing options (closure, frontal, leave out). She answered all of my questions & I did have a lot of questions as I've never had a weave before. A bit about me: I've been natural for over 11 years, and have only relaxers as a teen; I usually do not go to salons or let anyone style my natural hair. I had a deep wave sew-in weave with a closure installed. I received a complementary facial and wine during my appointment it was a relaxing experience. Quierra and the other stylists were very professional and really took care of their clients! If I continue to wear weaves, this will be my go to salon! This salon lacks professionalism and customer service. The stylist made me feel extremely uncomfortable and not welcomed. I came to get a sew-in and she complained about my hair the whole time she did my hair. I understand charging extra to comb out my hair but continue to belittle me and expect me to come back as a regular customer is unacceptable. If I knew how to do my hair, I would do it myself. I think this salon does not understand the beauty salon experience. So many other better Black Hair salons to go to in Orlando. read more

Joni's beauty bar has been good to me over the past year. She helped me discover what a "weave" was and how many other hair styles worked. I not only got my hair done, she offered other services like pani/pedi's, eyebrows, lashes, wigs she could personally make, and braids! She has a rewards program which is very convenient. I had the 50 dollar card. So basically every month 50 dollars came out of my bank card to add to my funds for her salon. And then every time I got a service done 10% was taken off of everything I got done individually. She has other options as well with more money involved if that's something you were interested in. It worked out great because it guaranteed me to come back for her sake, and helped me at checkout, so the payment was less. Many times I went to Joni's salon we would always jam to the music and vibe out. She made you feel at home. Unfortunately we could not see eye to eye on a few things and have gone our separate ways. Nikki lacks customer service. I went to get my hair done with Nikki the Friday before Christmas for a sew-in. She made several comments about how "thick" my hair was and she struggled to manage it. Once my hair was done it was tight as most protective styles are the first few days. A couple days more go by and I realized I was starting to form bumps on my scalp and was experiencing a burning sensation that would not go away. I eventually had to remove it myself. When I called Nikki to tell her about my situation she was uncooperative and unapologetic. After me having to ask about how I could be compensated (she did not offer me any resolution) she said I could get my deposit back as store credit. When I asked if I could get it back on my card she explained that I had not spoke to her about it sooner therefore there was nothing she could do. In my opinion this was unreasonable as they were closed for the holidays and from my knowledge reopened almost a week later after my hair was done. I have never had to leave a bad review but this is extremely unprofessional and disappointing as it is already hard enough finding some to trust with my hair texture. Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. I'm glad you are able to provide me with an answer now that it is public than when we spoke on the phone. Like I told you over the phone. I had NO complaints about the hair we used but instead how tight the sew in and braids ended up being but if "quality comes first" and you had concerns about my hair extensions that should have been brought to my attention when I asked for your opinion and you answered "I don't know" you didn't mention that my hair didn't match in texture until after it was installed but once again I had no complaints about how it looked. I never reported having any issues with tangled hair, "low quality hair" or lack of curls. Yes I called about my water bottle and you told me to come and pick it up Saturday and I went (per your instructions) but you were CLOSED. I came in today and you were not there. I was told you would not be there for an additional couple days. It is standard that new styles might be a little tight for 2-3 days so I waited but with that being said what would be "a timely fashion"? Anyways I appreciate you offering me the in store credit for my deposit. I hope you can dig a little deeper and find some additional compassion and kindness. Future advice, an apology goes a long way. read more

I've been to this hair stylist a few times , and those times I was pretty satisfied. But this time I went there looking for a simple trim and shape up, not inly did she leave uneven chunks missing from the side of my head, she cut most of my hair off! I had a cute tapered cut, that when stretched came down to my chin, now it barely reaches my eyebrows! HOW IS THIS A TRIM! When I went back she tried to fix my hair and of course made it worse, it's more uneven and she cut the top of my head I to a triangle. When I showed he previous hair jobs she provided me she said they were the same cut. So now my hair is gone and uneven, GREAT. read more

I could go on & on &... on about this place. There is happy, very happy & "I just came from Joni's Beauty Bar!" She is very professional yet personable & have magic hands!!!! I called last week to make an appointment to get my hair done. Joni answered & not only was she very professional but she also goes beyond just telling you to make an appointment online. She also offered her help if I had any issue with the website. The day of the appointment, I received top of the line service. I had to deal with another stylist (in NY) & my 360 frontal install was a complete mess. Before Jony even started doing my hair, she made sure to explain everything to me including the price. She washed my hair & the extensions (separately) which is very rare for a few hairstylists to do. I have very short hair. She managed to braid everything & it wasn't tight. I really liked & was intrigued how she able to work with the pieces that were left by the previous person who did my hair. I have no clue how she did that... and then I completely fell in love when she styled the hair. It was SO PERFECT that a customer walked in & told me that my hair looked very healthy & I had to tell her that it wasn't my hair. I am just in love with my hair!!!! Joni's hands are divine. She does everything. She then did my individual lashes & nails (the ballerina shape was done to perfection). I am soooo happy I came to her. This was a one- stop-shop for beauty needs. They are exceptionally capable of conditioning and styling every hair type. My hair is 4yrs of natural 4C. It need a lot of TLC. Now it is silky and healthy. I got my nails done with unique design, and I have beautiful eyelashes. This was my second visit and I was not disappointed. Miesha did an amazing job on my medium box braids. She showed up on time and got straight to work. She was focused on the job and did not take too many breaks, which would've extended my time. She treated my hair with care and made sure it was done at my request. Meisha is my girl for Plaits! It's been a month since I've got my hair done and it still looks fresh. What's special about this place is not only the quality of my hair and treatment but also the environment. The other customers and hair dressers are nice and keep great conversation and we sang the entire Destiny's Child The Writings on the Wall album like what other beauty store does that!! I asked for a simple wash and blow dry, mind you my hair was not too burnt prior and still had bounce. The wash was good but the process of blow drying my hair was not typical. My hair was left flat atop and burnt at the ends. No bounce whatsoever. Or at least try to curl the hair slightly to hide the burnt ends.. Too expensive for what I got on top of that there's an upcharge for everything you get depending on each hair even in different types of curly and straight hair... too technical for the same product's that could be found elsewhere and upcharge for those products too. Not too happy with the outcome.. Now I have to cut the ends that were burnt more than before ..making my hair even shorter. read more

I called and told them my problem, since they were booked for the day, I asked that they call me back if they have any cancellations. Few hours later, I get a call, they could take me in.
