I was very impressed so we hired Riverside for the job. Joe's team just completed the job, it was done well but we did have some communication issues with the schedule half way through which resulted in the job taking longer than we had anticipated. I have to say though that once I told Joe I was feeling frustrated with the poor schedule planning and communication, he immediately fixed it and it didn't happen again. In fact, he gave us a discount for the trouble (and I didn't even ask). I would have taken a star away from Riverside for the bumps in the road half way through, but I appreciated they listened carefully and got back on track. If you need a contractor, Joe is the guy! While the roof itself was completed, the lack of professionalism and total absence of communication afterward has been unacceptable. The Issues: Negligence: After finishing the roof, the crew completely forgot to reattach the gutters. Lack of Communication: It took several phone calls just to get a response regarding the gutters. I have since tried to contact them multiple times in writing regarding other issues, and they have completely ignored my messages. Property Damage/Residue: Upon closer inspection, there is now visible residue inside my bathroom skylight left behind by the workers. HOA Violations: Because this is a rental property, the detached front downspout resulted in me receiving a violation notice from my HOA before I was even aware of the problem. As a property owner I rely on contractors to be thorough and responsive. Wells Home Improvement failed on both counts. Since I'm not familiar with painting or wall repair, I asked my boyfriend--who has 25 years of construction experience--to speak with him about the scope and cost. My boyfriend, who is currently stationed overseas, was able to negotiate the price down to $1,800. Bill claimed that $600 of that was just for materials. Given that cost, I expected the walls to be properly prepped, primed with drywall primer, and imperfections repaired. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. While I appreciate that his team removed the old shelving, they left the hose mount on the wall and got paint on the door frame. They also failed to leave me the extra paint I had paid for, which I needed to address missed spots and repairs. I reached out to Bill via text three times. He initially said he would bring the extra paint but then stopped responding. I ultimately had to take a piece of damaged wall to Sherwin-Williams to get a color match and fix it myself. To make matters worse, when I expressed my concerns and asked him to speak with my boyfriend directly, he was dismissive and unprofessional. I've since had other painters look at the job, and they agreed I was overcharged for the quality of work delivered. Lesson learned: If you decide to hire this company, make sure you're either knowledgeable about painting or have someone experienced with you to avoid being taken advantage of--especially when it comes to labor and material costs.

The materials arrived later than I expected and the "work" took place around the 8th of September. I notified them of several issues on the 12th. Besides the materials left in my driveway and my daughter's things on my deck destroyed there were nails and screws left everywhere. This upset me greatly seeing as I had just spent a couple grand on tires for both my vehicles. Also there were missing screws, scratched panels and a questionable vent boot install. When I notified them of my concerns, no apology was offered only excuses. At that point I was ready to move on and have someone else complete the work but because a friend recommended them, I agreed to give them a second chance. Upon agreeing to that second chance I was offered snow guards for the hassle, I accepted. Around November 9 the "fix" happened and since I work long days, it took a few to see the catastrophe in the daylight. I honestly can't believe they thought it would go unnoticed. A creased panel was removed but put back. The boot was relocated to a ridge (which Mr. Randall's emails stated they don't do) and again there was an open hole in my metal. Both times they did get out and caulk the open holes they left but both times it had rained before they got out. How much water got in? The vent boot that was moved was not secured to the roof and the "free" snow guards for my hassle weren't completed. I notified them again of their shortcomings. This time I did get an apology but wrapped in more excuses and finger pointing. But, I agreed to one more chance and that brings us to Dec 16. Mr. Randall would like a third chance on the 18th, 2 days notice. I have company coming but agree because I will be home and I want to see under the panel that possibly had water get through. He responds with a little more attitude than I'm willing to accept this late in the game. I swore in my response which led to a lecture email from Mr. Randall on respect. A phone call happened in which I was informed by Chris that I need to act like an adult, we are in this position because I don't read emails and more excuses saying every job has a punch out. Ok, I'll accept my faults but how did any of my responses prevent Park Place from doing the job correctly either of the first two attempts? If a punch out is expected by management when Park Place does work, when was someone going to do a quality control visit? I keep hearing that punch outs are expected but my house is a small and simple split. Not a lot to go wrong but they made sure everything that could, did. I hope everyone that reads this takes these things into consideration before choosing Park Place. There are more reliable contractors out there.
