We had a wonderful experience with David at Elite Thermal! From day 1, David was super responsive…read moreand took his time going through all the options and explaining them to us. We really appreciate and value fine customer service, which David provided all through the process. He was in constant communication with us and helped us understand what the process would look like after we narrowed in on what wanted to move forward with. The booking and actual insulation process was quick and it's been SO much more comfortable in our house since this service. We were hitting almost 7-8 degrees higher than our thermostat was set to on hot days, and now our home has been able to maintain its temperature comfortably without running 24/7. So worth it! David kept following up to make sure our expectations were met and he was on top of it all. He was even here the day of to make sure the project was kicked off well. We are so thankful we went with Elite Thermal and David for our insulation needs! Go to David if you want a trustworthy partner who is thorough!

We know this because the owner came out to our house to do a free consultation. He was very talkative and informative, and he went above and beyond in his inspection and communicating what he saw and what possible solutions might be. The problem is that the townhouse my wife and I own does not retain heat very well. As a result, the heater is on all the time during the winter (even at a low temperature setting). To save on electricity, we wanted to see about getting some new insulation. The owner was very honest with us and said that to replace the old insulation would involve a lot of time and money for a hugely invasive process that might not be worth it in the end. He provided with tons of free information and advice to help make the right decision for us and consider alternative options that didn't involve working with his company. We ended up not using his services, but this company comes strongly recommended for their great customer service and the amount of value we got out of their free consultation!

The crew did not come with the right equipment, which was "on the way" and eventually were told by their boss to go to Home Depot to buy the spray foam. Then, they failed to fill the bays between the studs more than 1/8-1/4 of an inch (the contract called for 3"). They used "fire foam" meant to fill cracks in half of the bays, and failed to insulate the ceiling, which was part of the contract. These are just a few of a dozen items in the contract that were done poorly or not done at all. I strongly recommend you NOT use this company.

Dan Hope is professional with impeccable integrity, his company provides excellent customer service, and they all pay close attention to details. I am glad that I selected the super attic and clean crawl space, it was well worth the additional cost over standard insulation. Maryland is currently experiencing a cold snap and with wind chill the temperate drops below zero. One day before the cold snap, my HVAC broke and is beyond repair. I have an older 1300 square foot home with new window and no insulation in the walls. However, due to the seal created by the super attic and clean crawl space, I am sitting in a house that is 71 degrees with only the assistance of a propane fire place and one Dyson portable heater. At night, I set my fire place to 68 degrees and turn off the portable heater. When I wake up the lowest temperature in any room is 66 degrees. I am so glad that I choose the super attic and crawl space because during this busy time of year, I do not have to worry about the cost for installing a new HVAC under emergency conditions. That peace of mind is priceless. I interviewed three contractors before selecting Dr. Energy Saver of Central Maryland to insulate my home. I was impressed with Dan Hope because he started at the ground floor performing the actual insulation himself prior to hiring a staff. Dan kept every promise he made even though the job was interrupted when my roof started to leak which caused him some additional out of pocket expenses that he did not pass on. If you want a superior energy specialist to access your home that provides quality workmanship and stands behind their promises; Dr. Energy Saver of Central Maryland will fulfill those needs.

When the two techs came out, the lead tech said my pressure tank bladder needed air, and the switch was sticking on one side and overheating. After just going under the crawl space and futzing around (I told him there was no pressure after looking at the gauge myself), he recommended a $4,500 replacement of the pump, tank and switch - OR, I could upgrade to a better system for $6k ish. When I asked if he could just add air to the bladder with a pump so I didn't have to pay for another visit, he said oh no, he'd have to come back and also replace the switch if he did that. Funny, Phelps replaced the tank and bladder the last time this happened - 2017, I think. I wonder if I spent an unnecessary $750 on a new tank then, because they saw a "little rust" on the tank back then. Next time, I go under the crawl space to look at it myself. Ugh. Hmmm... He left me with several estimates...ranging from $700 to $6k and said I could do his recommended replacements or...do nothing until the next time it happened and spend more. They charged me $307.50 for NOTHING but a rip-off -just more money and an inaccurate diagnosis. Fast forward to a visit by JE Roberts, the next day (always get a couple of estimates) and the tech actually tested the water pressure by stressing the system - hooking up a hose to the tank - to mimic what might have tripped the water system off. He was patient, explaining why to me, and even took me under the house when I asked to show me the tank and switch (only about nine years old and he said NO bladder air issues OR switch overheating - saw it with my own two eyes). He said he couldn't diagnose the issue after testing for an hour, except to theorize that the capacitor in the pump might have a little glitch that when it hits that, the system shuts down - only every few years, and to call them if it happens again. They charged me $200 - well worth it for a honest test and feedback. Trust me - I'll call Roberts NOT Phelps. Ever. Again. Ever. I've spent way too much money "fixing" things they suggest without a real fix of the root cause issue.
