the carbondale walmart auto didnt know how to order my tire from hazard warranty for flat tire…read morefirst time I came in. put the spare on for me was nice and kept my paperwork and second time I came in Dustin said to check it in again to pull into their walmart garage at Carbondale and decided after that it could be fixed so it didnt need new tire order. however they was out of the right plugs for flat. Dustin also said why dont you goto another walmart auto because i might have to wait? murphysboro or another and I thought to myself because its an extra 10 miles plus some on a 1 way trip so why would i drive farther? I did endup going to murphysboro and they said they all students in auto at SIU and the best in region, however, they said i need to order a new tire becaUse they said the hole is too big for quarter inch plug. they ordered the new tire the first day I came in so i endup driving 40 mile rt to comeback for new tire and meanwhile Carbondale was still out of plugs. I thought it a little strange when they finally told me my tire was in....it endup a much older man and not a student working on it after they said was all SIU auto students. so he took a long tool when i glanced from the parking lot and saw him take a big swing with a tool towards my vehicle from more than 30 feet away and didnt see where it hit and popped off the tire after that. Thought a bit strange to do it that way? with a long torque wrench tool of some sort? never seen anybody take a swing to get a tire off after they told me they was the best in the region....and nobody was really watching besides my son and me from the parking lot. Another white suv was in there with the student working on the other vehicle. Than they didnt put the cap on under the lug nuts so we had to comeback.. I have had alot of bad luck in Carbondale/Marion areas and now Murphysboro with more than 1 trip for flat tire? I seen people switch tires out on my truck and even myself have but never had to swing past there shoulder with a tool before to pop off a flat? all together i endup driving over 60 miles for a flat between trips to walmart in Carbondale and Murphysboro on 4 trips! Never have had so much troubles in my life! This in addition to others and been into the auto mechanics way too many times Southern Illinois! I gave a 2 star just for meeting the SIU students who work there but they was not the ones who worked on my truck sorrowfully enuf.

Well, well, well... What to do on a Friday night?…read more Yesss! Go to the 24/7 tire shop to replace tires!! (And flirt and laugh with the mechanic guys) Having fun and being safe is the most important things to me when I'm driving a semi, but staying safe is not really the back burner thing. It's the #1 thing and very important to maintain my semi truck and trailer everyday. Every single day before I even start my truck up I walk around it to check the tires, for leaks, my brake air hoses connections, and a few other things but these are the main things. Today I noticed my tires are used up from the winter snow and ice and it's getting really hot, in some places it's over 100° in some states on the interstate. So anyways, I pull into this shop, about 9pm last night. I cake on my lip gloss and put my pocket knife on my pocket and got the Big Boss Hogg down out of the truck because I really never know if these guys are going to be jerky creeps or what. We walk into the shop and right away a young guy named Lex happily greet us and offered a beverage. He's a dog lover so he brought Bossy a cold water. He told me they were going to to finish up the truck in front of me and get me in next. I needed to replace 4 tires today and had an idea it might be at least 1 1/2 hours of labor, 2 hours max which he confirmed. So normally it would an all night headache dealing with Loves or Pilot being unprofessional and listening to 3 to 6 hours waiting just to get in, so I knew this was going to be excellent. Sure enough Lex gave the guy his receipt and I pulled my truck in and 2 other mechanics started working on it right away. So me and Bossy sat and was talking and laughing with him and the shop owner on the bench watching the mechanics and as other truckers come to line their trucks up for service. The atmosphere of the shop was decent, I couldn't complain. Badda Boom, Badda Bing! It was done within an hour. He gave me my receipt for $2478.00 so that's about $500 a tire, plus labor and taxes. So, 2 new front steer tires and 2 matching Bridgestone drive tires after normal business hours. I was ecstatic they did not over charge me and were very nice. I loaded up the dog and off we went to call it a night in the reserved customer parking place. So all in all the lip gloss worked and thank god I didn't have to use my knife. I highly recommend this commercial truck shop for any trucker that needs to have any kind if maintenance done.
