My review is specifically for the ER department…read more I truly try to be understanding because I know hospitals are understaffed, overwhelmed, and the staff deals with difficult situations every day. I've always remained polite and patient during my visits. But after multiple experiences here, I honestly feel like something needs to be said. Every single time I've come to this ER, the wait has been excessive -- usually 7+ hours just to be seen or placed in a room, followed by several more hours waiting for updates or care once inside. I understand emergencies happen and patients are prioritized by severity, but the overall experience feels extremely disorganized and lacking compassion. The waiting room is consistently dirty and overcrowded, with visibly sick people sitting for hours without updates. What bothered me most, though, was the attitude from some of the staff at the front desk. Patients and family members asking simple questions are often spoken to like they're inconveniencing the staff just for needing help or clarification. During my most recent visit, I spent nearly 10 hours there before eventually deciding to decline admission and go home. I was placed in a room without a pillow or blanket and asked three separate times for a blanket, but was ignored each time. No one expects perfection, especially in a busy ER. But basic compassion, communication, and respect should still exist. People come to the emergency room scared, sick, in pain, and vulnerable. The way patients are treated matters just as much as the medical care itself. I genuinely hope this department improves, because no patient should leave feeling dismissed, ignored, or like they were a burden for simply needing medical help.

I have been there numerous times to visit friends, neighbors, and a few family members. On the 20th of this month my son had a hernia surgery for the second time around at this hospital within 3 years apart. He has been here once before for the same procedure/surgery, but was seen by another doctor who had retired. My husband took him to the hospital around 8am and the check-in process was seamless, timeless, and effortless by the front desk. They took his vitals, signed some paperwork, and got to business. It was a laparoscopic surgery and anesthesia was required to give him 3 incisions to get where they needed to get into. The anesthesiologist did a flawless job and my son went to sleep within 60 seconds. They even played his favorite song by his favorite artist. Dr. Michael Robinson did a fantastic job by operating on him and my son speaks very highly of him, his work ethic, knowledge, professionalism, and kind demeanor. He was patient, pleasant, explained the pros & the cons and the rest is history. Nurses were constantly around my son making sure that he was doing well, taking good care of him by talking to him, and giving him solid food such as small sandwiches, chips, jello and vanilla pudding. In my opinion that is a lot of food for someone who had just had surgery. After the surgery, they took him to the recovery room and made sure that he was being supervised for 3 hours. They sent him home that same day, since it was an outpatient surgery with rules/instructions to follow, pain killers and wished him a safe & speedy recovery!! They have a cafeteria, vending machines, gift shop, plenty of parking spaces, lots of clean restrooms, including the surgery room. Hospital was SPOTLESS CLEAN!!! We would like to thank Dr. Michael Robinson, all the nurses, especially Suzanne & Minu for their caring, hospitable attitude, and last but not least St. Joseph Medical Hospital!! Thanks a BUNCH!

There is a large parking garage within the grouping of two additional medical buildings, as well as two hour street parking (although it's difficult to find a spot). The grounds are minimalistic but there are lovely little outdoor nooks with sculptures and water features. Just wish parking situation was better. We already pay so much for healthcare. Paying for parking is just an insult to me.

I needed to get a physical because I've been suffering from migraines for years. The front desk was very friendly and helpful. The check in process was a breeze. Elma ordered labs for me and I was able to do them the same day and gave me referrals to see a specialist. The authorization department was able to get everything approved within 2 days!!! I've been to other doctors offices and always get the run around. Elma called me 3 days later with my results. It was nice actually speaking to a provider about my results rather than a nurse in my opinion because she was able to answer all of my questions. I called the same day and spoke to the office manager Anna if I'm not mistaken. I told her how helpful and amazing the staff and Dr. Elma was. The whole process went exactly as it should she runs that office with such ease and professionalism. I would definitely recommend my family and friends to come here.

They *reuse the same tourniquet* for every patient, without sanitizing it. The chair arms are never wiped down. The tray is never cleansed. Basically - nothing is cleansed between patients. This is a huge violation of the CDC. I'm not sure how they got clearance to operate, as any sort of inspection would have shut them down immediately. When they encourage you to get your blood drawn at their own facility because "Quest takes too long" - do not go here, it's too risky to your health.

She has a very open and fun personality which makes it easy yo talk to her. She explains everything very well and makes sure the kids feel heard as well. She knew what was in the charts, had the history of my kids straight and was very smart about dealing with the numerous issues my older daughter developed. I can not count the times I had to contact her to get advice or help with something. She would ALWAYS answer within less then 24 hours and would have an answer ready. She would not hesitate to give assistance even when it was a lot of work to write something. She was such a pillar to lean on while my by now teenaged daughter was struggling a lot with mental health and other issues. Dr. Micky has been a strong part of our network we've built to keep our kids healthy. Unfortunately our insurance situation changed so we can't keep her any longer. The kids are 17 and 19 by now but I wish we could stay even for the last few years. You can trust that Dr. Micky will make decisions with your kid's wellbeing in mind. It seems they have switched medical groups and now it is nearly impossible to get through to the office. Trying to reach the office feels like calling the IRS. It feels like I'm on hold for hours every time I try to call in.
