September is National Yoga month and Spiritual Essence is giving classes for $5 thru the end of the…read moremonth. I have never taken Yoga before, so I figured this would be a good way to explore. I followed the instructions on the website by emailing them and letting them know which class I wanted to attend. They were prompt with getting back to me. I showed up Saturday morning to the Intro to Yoga class at 10:30 am. I for whatever reason bought a mat some time ago and had it in my trunk, but if you do not have a mat they provide them free of charge. The space is a clean little renovated house/studio with enough room for about 10 to 12 people. I liked that it was small and intimate. The instructor was very pleasant and asked us our names and why we decided to try Yoga. Then she put on the soft music and took us into a range of motions while explaining what everything meant and what areas of the body we were working. Everything flowed naturally, it was not intimidating at all, she offered alternate poses for the less limber and inexperienced. She welcomed questions through the process, but most of us were so into the flow we talked more with our bodies than with our mouths. I left with a clear head and calm demeanor. The website is very detailed down to telling you the class level (gentle, rigorous, active), who the instructors are, and what you will be doing in each class. So much to choose from: There is meditation, Yoga for weight loss, Yoga abs& powerful flow, prenatal yoga, and so much more! I have been out of practice for a bit so this was a nice re-entry point. While the music and instruction and very quiet setting were different from my preferred yoga style, I will say that Angelina was a good teacher. The sequencing of the flow was great and I felt very challenged. I also appreciated how engaged she was with each student in different ways and the hands-on assistance she provided. I've been doing yoga for a while but there are still postures I'm confident aren't exactly right. She helped me correct a few and I was very grateful. She also recognized my flexibility and gave me additional adjustments/gentle pushes to get deeper into some postures. I also appreciated Mo at the front desk who was very nice and welcoming. Sometimes, when I come to smaller studios where everyone knows each other, I feel out of place but that wasn't the case here. Thanks, Radiance!

Its super close to where I am. This past Tuesday night, I took a hot pilates class with Jay Houston and that class was packed like sardines. There was probably 60 people in the class and it was a very hard class. Im in decent shape and man this class was really testing me. And it was beyond hot. Im glad I got thru it but not sure I wanna take this class on the regular. I just no longer feel like thats what my body needs. Tonight, I took a Flext class with Scarlett Salem and wow this class was soooo good and definitely my speed. It was heated and we did a lot of really great hip and low back stretches that I love and need. Instructor was very good, very clear and I enjoyed every minute of this class! 10/10! The heat was set just right and I still sweated a lot but also got in a really deep stretch session but not to the point where I felt it was overwhelming. I had never taken a yoga class before visiting Robin Bell. My initial concerns and fears were addressed. She made me feel comfortable and a part of her "tribe" even before I stepped into her class. From the very first class till now, the experience has always been phenomenal. After a long stressful day, it's calming to practice yoga with her. During this quarantine period, she has been doing virtual classes every day of the week and what a blessing that has been. I'm no longer in the same time zone with her but her classes are at a time that's just right for me. I love that Robin takes the time to address every student's needs. She often reminds her students to "honor your bodies." The flexibility and calmness I feel after each class motivates me to continue in my practice. Many customers in the lobby complained that they have not had good experiences with him. As soon as I came out of the door to the class, they decided to rush me about a groupon. Though the instructor there saw it and I sent the screenshot to the owner, he stated I could file a complaint as it's Groupon's fault for allowing me to purchase another one.. the FINE print does NOT say only 1 could be purchased! In fact, it has a large " Buy It Again" on the Groupon! Also, I don't believe they clean the floors at all in between classes, as I arrived when people were coming out and we could just straight in and set up. If you're a beginner to yoga, you'll definitely want to set up in the back where you can watch the more experienced people to know what to do. The instructor does do a good job talking through the poses, though doesn't necessarily demonstrate. Still great talking through what to do!

She's an excellent storyteller who encourages experienced students to perfect a pose and equally guides those who are just getting started in their practice.

I am newbie to Pilates but I am slightly obsessed now. Also slow me down a bit and help with flexibility-Pilates does just that. I signed up initially for three months, but I can see this being something I will continue to enjoy long-term. Some of my favorite and instructors are Tiffany, Karen and, Michaela. I hate to give up the secret, but their classes, instructions and Playlists are phenomenal and I love that they offer early morning classes since I am an early riser! This will continue to be my home studio for the long term for sure.
