I can't speak for others who hired Venator to do other types of work which may be totally different…read morethan the work I required. I hired Venator to install a 4" channel drain that was to replace an original 28 year old 1" drain that was no longer adequate to collect heavy rains and move it away from my patio. While Venator's proposal seemed to be promising to provide a much needed improvement, the end results were a big disappointment. A concrete opening had to be cut in order to receive the new Spee-D Channel drain along a 25' section of my concrete patio, but they cut the opening too small. They proceeded to trim the Spee-D Channel on the bottom to make it fit into the undersized opening, which compromised the integrity of the plastic channel and wasted time focusing on the retrofitting process. All they had to do was to cut an additional 2-3" strip from the concrete and the drain would have dropped into place as the instructions suggested. After numerous attempts to inform the owner, who refused to visit the site to inspect the work, he insisted the job was being done by "Industry Standards". His main communication was via Text. I kept him informed of the shoddy workmanship with the hopes he would come by to see for himself. That was not on his agenda, even after expressing my dissatisfaction with the job as it was proceeding. I was not given a dedicated day for the work to be done. It seemed like my job was fitted in after the workers finished on a previous job. The two workers showed up at 6pm on day one and worked until 8:30pm. Not being able to finish, they had to return the next day at 3pm and worked until 8pm. The two worked hard doing their job but it seemed like this was an exploration, not a familiar experience for them. The left photo is what the installation should look like if done correctly and the right photo is what was installed, after having to cut the bottom flange on the channel drain to force it into the opening in the ground. Unfortunately, you never know what results you will get from a vendor until the job is completed. I am sorry I hired Venator for this job and I do not recommend him for this type of work.

However, the grout should not have been replaced in freezing temperatures. Again it has crumbled. I have reached out to Hunter over a month ago several times with texts and photos, also filed with the BBB. He has not responded. I have paid nearly $15,000 in full. The crew has caused SIGNIFICANT damage to my brand new privacy fence on multiple sides, they have also damaged my mailbox, cut my water hose in half, and broken my plastic gutter run offs. When bringing this to the service providers attention they sounded very upset and sounded like they wanted to help me. Then I received a call from Jason Cory, the company owner. This was the most unprofessional and unreasonable company owner/representative I have ever come into contact with. When I sent him videos showing the damage caused by his crew he told me that the damage to my fence was not that big of a deal. I gave him a comparison of buying a new car, and paying someone to clean it, only to find-out that person left a huge dent in your car and Jason Cory said that this is different... Lets clarify, I paid for a service on my yard, your team damaged my property in places where there isnt even grass growing. I let him know its completely unacceptable for the damage to be done to my property whenIm paying for a service. Jason Cory told me that because of their equipment there is nothing they can do to avoid doing damage to my property unless I pay him for putting in a buffer to prevent this issue from happening again... THIS IS AFTER THE DAMAGE IS DONE. I told him that it was unacceptable and he should expect legal action if my property was not repaired as it was before. HE THEN SAID "GOOD DO IT" AND CALLED ME CRAZY. Im paying for a service and expect it to be done without damage to my property, apparently Dogwood Landscaping, nor Jason Cory thinks thats acceptable. Jason Cory even went as far to tell me that I do not know what Im talking about, and I could not last an hour on one of his trucks and that I should not care about the quality, since my mother pays for the lawn service which is an annual Christmas present from her. Long story short, they have caused extensive damage to my property around my house, refuse to take blame or replace it, and when I address it I am called crazy by the company owner Jason Cory.

These folks did a super job for our custom patio. From the initial consultation, design and…read morethrough to completion they worked amazingly hard and with professionalism throughout. We were able to relocate/preserve a variety of bushes to clear out the space, addressed drainage challenges and created a beautiful new outdoor space, including a 21x25 main area with a 13' circular area attached to one corner for a freestanding fire pit. We combined this project with an unrelated sink hole issue and were able to utilize excavated dirt as partial fill for the hole. They strived to economize where possible, despite some minor unexpected challenges; in the end the +'s and -'s to the estimate were fair and reasonable. After 3 weeks we remain thrilled.

He installed 4 structural posts, replaced ties and repaired as needed. He is an extremely hard worker and goes above and beyond to get the job done. His bid included addressing the structural issues instead of just replacing ties at a very good bid while the other 2 contractors just wanted to replace ties and never discussed the lack of dead men/supports in one area of the wall. He cleaned up after he was done and it was left immaculate. I would highly recommend Mark and would call on him again. Very friendly and good man, one of the best contractors I've hired.
