1 Star - Terrible Communication & Unprofessional Management My experience with All Sons Moving Company in McKinney, Texas was completely unacceptable. The lack of communication and poor customer service from start to finish was shocking. My move was scheduled for a Sunday afternoon. I was told the movers had another job earlier that day but coming later that afternoon would not be a problem. Suddenly they finished early and decided they wanted to come much earlier than agreed. That was never the plan. Then the pricing policies were not clearly explained when I booked the move. Later they tried to tell me about hourly and weight charges after the fact. That is something that should be clearly explained when a customer books the service, not later on when confusion already exists. Because things were not handled properly, I had to speak with another operations manager who finally explained the procedures and rebooked the move correctly. But then the truck broke down at their location before they even left to come to my house. Instead of communicating properly with me, the company went ahead and scheduled my move for Monday without my approval or even telling me. I never agreed to a Monday move. Today (Tuesday) I called the McKinney location and spoke with the manager, Jenson, to address everything that happened. Instead of trying to resolve the situation professionally, he had a terrible attitude. When I told him his employees were rude and lacked customer service, he responded by saying, "What are you on the phone with me for? What are we doing right now?" What we're doing is simple. I want my refund and I will never use this company again. WORST moving experience EVER! I had a small, 3 bedroom, typical one-story house. Every time I have moved, it has taken a total of 6 to 7 hours. It took them over 13 hours for a simple local move and they still left without finishing. They charged me over $3,000 while they broke and scratched my furniture, broke my dishes and decorations, and left half my belongings unassembled and unfinished. I had to pay a handyman $500 the next day to come finish the move and reassemble the furniture which they did wrong. One of the guys clearly had never moved anyone before and stood around watching all day. Another one had schizophrenia and was talking and arguing with imaginary people all day, then stood in my front yard screaming curse words in Spanish and scaring all my neighbors. When they dropped and shattered my weddings gifts on the floor, they literally laughed. They broke my dresser and lost the handles, scratched my desk, scratched my computer screen, broke my decorations and dishes, dented my washer and dryer. They came with no tools, no drill, and no clue how to unassemble or reassemble furniture. And when I complained to the office, they threatened to unload all my belongings on the driveway and drive away. Then they charged me MORE money in what can only be characterized as extortion. I called at 11:30am and all I got was they are running behind on the first move. I called back at 1:40pm and was told the same thing. Horrible packing‼All my clothes are wrinkled because they (the packers), didn't hang them...just threw them in the wardrobe boxes. They just throw whatever in the box. That's what they did with most of our property. Said it was too late to finish the move. It it took 12 hours to finish the job! They were asked to use the boxes we had at the townhouse. We had a lot of empty boxes. We may have been short of boxes by about 10 to 15 boxes. They used their own and charged us around $670.00 for the use. The 3 people who came...1 spoke English. The other two, one spoke very little English...the other spoke no English. Now here is the ridiculous part of the complete job...they took our stuff off the truck and put it all in their warehouse!! Then picked it up the next morning, and they moved everything to our new home. I am still unpacking as of this post, hopefully, some of the things I am missing are in the few boxes that are waiting to be unpacked. One more gigantic unpleasant to add to this review. THEY CHARGED US over $4000.00. The move was less than 3 miles away from where we were to where we were moving!! Here is the reason for this review, not just the horrible packing, not the 10 hours it took them to pack, not just delivering to their warehouse, and keeping our belongings overnight, not for the attitude of we do not care...we have your things, and you can't do anything about it. Well let's see, I was given a rough estimate quote for $500-600, the actual cost was over $1,000. The movers were great, but the customer service is trash. They charged me twice and I called and told them I had two pending payments and basically wrote me off. Now I have over $2,000 deducted from my bank account and they haven't emailed me back and their customer service basically made it sound like I was lying that there were two pending payments and I had to dispute it with my bank. I used this company a few years ago when the pipes at my apt complex busted. I wished I read all the reviews back then as I am reading thru some of the comments today. My experience was very similar as others which is causing me a bit of PTSD just thinking about what they did and got away with. I was moving a 1-bedroom apt, very limited furniture and items, to the next building over. They talked me into using a 4-man crew that was my 2nd mistake. The moment they arrived, it took them 45 minutes on my dime to decide where to even park the truck. They were persistent in parking it way around the corner "where it was safe" nowhere even close to the entrance to my apt, I didn't argue with them about it long. Even though it was a weekday, quite as could be traffic wise, and all the other movers parked where I suggested close to this entrance ALL THE TIME with no issues whatsoever. I just wanted them to get started. It took them over 6 hours to load the truck essentially one piece and/or box at a time. By the time they started to unload, it took them less than 1.5 hrs mostly due to them parking close to the entrance as they should of done in the first place when loading the truck. This time around, they didn't want to run the same game since they were exhausted and were ready to be done. They quickly unloaded, a.k.a dumped all my belongings into the living room. During the move, they ended up breaking a table. I noticed it right away and the leader of the group told me I could submit a claim but it would be hard to prove that they were the ones who broke it in the first place. First time hiring a moving company to move. We had a pipe burst in our apartment and we had to move immediately because the unit flooded so bad it was unlivable. They helped us move into another unit in the same building. The moving crew were efficient and very helpful even after they came from a job that took them 6 hours. They even helped me wall mount my TV after the move was complete, which was not required of them to do. The only reason I won't give 5 stars is because of all the fees such as travel fees and material fees. Total I paid $1000 to move from one unit to another which I think is pretty outrageous. We were ready to move things in, but instead your plan was to spend a lot of time (I was paying) discussing that my stuff wouldn't fit in the unit. You complained and complained on the time I was paying you to move me. You wouldn't give me my belongings until I pay for a time that you estimated was the time to put things in the unit. When you already didn't want to finish the job, you abused my time and my intelligence. You dared me by charging me extra time and keeping me in the phone. You disrespect me by saying you didn't care about me discussing a fair moving amount because I was paying you by a word I said and you had my things locked in your truck. 250 + as a surcharge for gas for a 4 mile move . This place does not do logical business , the movers agreed. The manager was trying to charge me for time as the movers were waiting for his responses and couldn't really help me with any of my questions on the price. I was told I would be refunded for time if we could shave some off (which we did by an hour)that time wasn't used to help me out on the outrageous price as they charged over $1,700 . When the 2 guys got to the old apartment I signed on a broken tablet, and the lead guy turned around and knocked over a shadowbox and broke the glass. Just said "oops" and walked out. We sent them a video to make sure they knew what they were moving, showed up short staffed, tripled move time and when confronted, unloaded everything and left unsecured. This was the worst experience. I asked for a 8am move, they showed up at 12. I moved a 3br already packed house 30min away. When we got there before they unloaded they made me pay the expected amount which they said was $1300! After quoting me $200 for 3 men. I had to pay for them to unload and I didn't want to be charged extra time so I paid. Later I got the receipt.... They charged me $160 for fuel at 18% of the total move cost (not the total miles driven). Then $160 for tape and plastic wrap that I didn't ask for and wasn't approved. My final paperwork also showed my signature on pages I never seen nor signed. They just copied my signature from the first page on to every page. They also damaged the only piece of furniture they decided to not Saran Wrap to death was my leather chair and they tore the arms. They charged me for 6 rolls of tape because I was trying to finish taping a couple boxes and they told me stop they would do that for me then continues to put 7 pieces of tape on every box and wrap boxes to other boxes and to other things not telling me they were gonna charge for this and that.  I would never had agreed to let them move me if I know it was gonna be 1300 for 3hrs of moving. read more

This business stole from me in a time of grief and loss of a family member when they died in my home. They overcharge me once they had already given me a solid quote for the move out of said home. I was quoted $375 by them on the phone to move my one bedroom apartment with small storage 13 miles. Do not use these movers. They were terrible. They didn't put together any of our furniture that they moved until I told them to the next day. They also literally threw all of our other stuff into the garage, taking no care at all, with boxes landing upside down, on their sides and stacked with the heaviest boxes on top. This is a terrible, unethical company and I strongly warn anyone from using them. Pay attention to all their bad reviews, we should have. These people are very dishonest and do not fully explain their process and charges on the phone. They speak very fast and make you believe that your cost will be labor plus 18% of the total hours. What they skim past (hidden swiftly and gently in all of the info they mumble through) is the additional 1 hour of travel time in addition to the labor minimum. So they have 2 separate minimums but it's not clear when they mention it and they speak so fast it's impossible to catch. They say they have a 2 hour minimum for labor and the travel charge is 18% of that. We were on a tight budget while helping in-laws moving after a sudden loss of life. I calculated $400 for 2 hours and got charged $600 instead. Trying to discuss anything with them is a bad idea. They're incredibly rude, sharp and disrespectfully speak over you. They sound like angry auctioneers and default to repeatedly say they were clear about everything and that we signed the agreement on the iPad. They're not clear! Beware: They will purposely take their time to over charge you. HORRIBLE. 900 SqFt Apt. I only needed the service to move heavy furniture (1 King Size Bed, 1 dresser to match, 1 full kid bed, mini kid dresser to match, 1 Love Seat and 1 table). Everything else me and my family handled (ALL boxes, and household items). Paid for 3 hours for $800+. I live in an apartment complex on the 4th floor with elevators. I made this COMPLETELY clear when booking. THREE guys came and took about 30 mins before starting anything, just a lot of small talk (my clock was ticking). Showed them where the elevator is and the lead person suggested that the guys take the stairs since it was closer (right outside my door). I told them that whenever I moved there, the movers took the stairs and took maybe 1.5 hour to get everything inside. So the stairs would be more convenient, but he advised that the stairs would be a better option. Well after 3 hours they only moved my bed and dresser and my son bed. THAT's ALL. I asked if the could at least move the sofa since it was the last heaviest thing and may I ADD...they wasted time doing the following: 1. The lead poops in my restroom for a good 20 mins. The team was basically waiting on him to give directions. 2. One guy caught a cramp and had to sit for about 30 mins. We even gave him pickle juice to help. 3. The Uhual had to be moved, my brother offered to move it but the lead person said that he had it. ALL 3 got in the Uhual and took about 15 mins to bring it from one side of the parking lot to the other. 4. They walked like they had nothing to do. I past 1 of the guys twice while I was moving things to the Uhual myself. Well after literally begging him to move the sofa, he finally agreed. Well that took 45 minutes. Called to report this to the store (something I have NEVER done). The manager literally didn't try to hear my story. His response was "Well you have to understand that going up and down 4 levels is a lot". Ummm sir that's their job. I made it clear with the 1st call. I also showed them stairs. Then the person, I assume the manager, stated that he gave me an extra 45 mins to move a sofa. Which at that point I'm LIVID. 1st of all you all guaranteed me that you'd be able to move all of my items within 3 hours and that it wasn't much to do. Then ummmm taking 45 mins to move a sofa is the problem. Next problem: they packed my mattress in the middle of the truck (see photos). Usually when I move the sofas go on the outside, this leaves a lot of room for other items and serve as a cushion. Welp my table was scratched due to their set up and it made it more difficult ti load the remainder of our items. Ooo and wait....whenever I booked I was told that the 30 mins to and 30 mins from were included in pricing. I had soo many fees that I wasn't aware of. This move was beyond stressful because of this company. Because of the amount of money that I spent, I called up my family and friend ti help me unload whenever we arrived back home. It took them 2 hours ti unload everything and set the beds and everything up. Even had everything out boxes and stored where they go. If I knew I would have had a bad experience I would have flew my family and friends to Dallas to help load the truck. This company does bad business & doesn't properly disclose fees or deadlines. When I first booked my move I asked about what fees they had besides the hourly rate. He assured me there was a gas fee of $20-something dollars and the hourly rate. Later when another agent contacted me to confirm my reservation he tells me about an additional fee that they automatically tack on to get the truck from the warehouse to my location. Misleading mistake #1. Both agents told me I had a 24 hour period to cancel and my $100 deposit would be refunded to me. I canceled before the 24 hours specifically because I didn't like what happened with the first agent and the fees disclosure. I never got my deposit back. I called All My Sons to move a 1 bedroom apartment 30 miles. I was never quoted a "best and final" price, only an hourly rate. My first mistake. Before they would pack anything, I had to sign a bunch of forms (electronic). There was no time to read everything in detail, the clock was ticking. First red flag. They packed up quickly and efficiently and got to the new apartment in a reasonable time. However, before they would unload, they wanted full payment. Second red flag. The price was outrageous and a surprise (~$1,600), and furthermore they wouldn't unload the truck until I paid in full. So, to get my furniture out of "jail", I paid, they unloaded and left. I should note that the minute they presented the bill and I had problems with the total price was the minute their attitudes changed. They had been friendly and nice before. Afterward, they ignored me and my family completely. Never, ever again will I use All My Sons moving. This business practice that advertises good hourly rates, but holds your furniture hostage until you pay in full their unreasonably high moving price is not worth another move with them. read more

PLEASE READ BEFORE HIRING. I opted to use All My Sons to move a 2 bedroom apartment plus a 5 x 10 storage unit. I was quoted $900 and at least 3-4 hours job time with 3 movers. I found that to be doable considering I didn't have much but boxes and furniture. Moving day came and the team showed up in time and began working. It didn't take long to realize that they would hang out in the truck while one did the work and trade off. Not only that, but they were taking smoke breaks ever 20 minutes or so. My apartment had everything boxed up and some furniture, albeit one desk and one bed that needed to be taken apart. The desk took 5 minutes and the bed took about 10 minutes. Then from there we added what was in my garage, which took them 20 minutes. At this point it had already been around FOUR HOURS. FOUR HOURS to move boxes and furniture into a truck. Then we moved on to the storage unit. I had my dogs and child with me and while showing the movers where my storage unit was my dogs were able to roll all the windows on my car down. Luckily my kid was able to keep them in the car. So, after showing them where the unit was I had to take the dogs to the house that was 30 minutes away. The movers who moved the boxes into the storage unit were able to clear my fiancés apartment and move the boxes in on under 2 hours. It took this team TWO hours just to move the stuff OUT of the storage unit. When asked what took so long they said their truck was "Full" and they couldn't fit anything else in it. They only emptied 3/4 of the unit which we ended up having to move by ourselves and could fit into two small SUV's. Furthermore, the truck was empty enough for a 7 ft book shelf to fall and sustain a puncture from a chair. Not only that, but they were able to open the side door of the moving truck and walk around with ample room. The furthest thing from full. It took them an additional 2 hours to move everything from the truck into the house when all I asked for were boxes to be put on the kitchen. All in all it took the team 8 hours to do a move I was quoted 3-4 for. On top of that, a member of the team looked at the team lead with disgust when shown the storage unit and complained about not getting off on time in the last few days in front of me. It is obvious that their integrity of moving took over at the storage unit and a decision was made to leave stuff for me to finish at my own expense. When this was brought up to the manager they did offer to refund me $400 for "any down time". That's about 2 hours worth of their hourly rate. I was charged $2,500 and told that they wouldn't unload the truck unless it was paid. So I was quoted $900 at 3-4 hours with three guys. It took them 8 hours, a lot of stuff was broken AND I paid $1600 over what was quoted and told I'd be reimbursed $400 for whatever down time the team took. BEWARE! Same experience as all the other bad reviews. Jensen, the manager, is horrible. This was the worst move experience we have ever had. They charged $4700 dollars, when our quote was closer to 3K. And stretched it over 2 days instead of the 8 hours estimated. That being said, the movers themselves were great. Will, Tim, Jack, Josiah, Tony and Chaz (two crews because two days!) were all polite and nice to work with. read more

Selecting this company was a big mistake. They underestimated the truck size. They sent three gentleman who one of them was his first day. They loaded the truck poorly so all of my stuff couldn't fit. When we finally got to the drop off spot they wanted to charge me three hours to unload. The price was nothing like the quote. The damage several of my pieces and offered me $100. If it was possible to give a negative rating would. Shady people and poor service. They are the reason the moving industry has a bad name. I was stuck in a tough situation where I needed same-day move out and barely had anything packed. Not only did they send a crew out to help me within an hour, but the crew was very professional very quick and very caring. They helped finish packing and loaded everything into the truck. They were sensitive to my situation and handled it very supportively. They were very confidential and respectful. If there's any crew that deserves five stars, it's John, Lucia and Marvin. I couldn't have asked for a better crew. It was a very emotional time for me and they not only made sure that I was completely taken care of, but didn't leave without giving a hug. They could tell how stressed I was and even though we just met, they went above and beyond customer service and showed humanity by offering kindness. I wish I could have given more back to them. They definitely deserve a raise. It's employees like them that make a company. read more

Bate and switch. They said 239 an hour worked for 11 hours because they were incompetent then I found all the furniture they damaged. This place is the worst possible place to get movers. Really go anywhere else. They charged 4500 for the 4 bedroom we moved into that was 30 minutes away. They also charge overtime but no one will mention that to you until your stuff is on the truck and you have no option. One guy was just screwing around and complaining the whole time. a lot of standing around and watching people work. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. This was the worst moving experience of my life. First, they were 2 hrs late. Some sort of communication would have been great. Secondly, How does it take 3 hrs to load up a 1 bdrm apt? Everything was packed and bubble wrapped when they arrived. They took their sweet time just to milk the clock. Then they brought me an invoice for $1,093! FOR WHAT?? Apparently the materials fee I was quoted at $85 has now changed to $187.70. I was also charged a fuel surcharge of $115 (LOL) I moved to a different unit in the same apt complex we may have gone 150ft to get to the new unit. We literally went 0 miles and that cost $115. They then contacted the office to do a price adjustment and they adjusted the price to $974! (LOL what is that?) I declined to pay the astronomical amount for my simple move. So they adjusted the price one more time to $894. Laughable again. They then came up with a cost to unload my items on the CURB for $600 or they would take my loaded items to a storage facility where I would have to pay to have the items to be released and find new movers to deliver my items and move them into my new apt. I paid the $600 just to be finished with the nightmare and carried my own items into my unit myself. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF AND AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST! read more
