Our move from St. Louis to Ypsilanti, MI in August 2025 was a mixed bag. Hard to say if I would recommend them. We did 90% of the packing ourselves. The positives include: 1. A thorough review of the contents to be moved versus the cursory review by competitors. 2.A competitive price. 3.Our things were moved in dedicated trucks and not mixed in with other people's stuff. 4. Honestly about damages: a table literally fell apart during packing and the crew pointed it out to me rather than concealing it. 5. No high pressure sales tactics. 6. The guys were patient with my wife repositioning furniture at the destination. 7. Nothing was broken although we had quite a few minor dings in furniture. 8. Crews showed up on time at both ends of the trip. Negatives include: 1.No formal acknowledgement of payment. They were almost offensively anxious to get the final payment even though the third and final truck had not arrived. 2. Loss of focus at the end of the day: We did a walkthrough at the end of the loading process. Every time we found something that needed to go into the truck, the guy leading the walkthrough took it out, chatted with the guys on the truck, and then we would lose our place. This resulted in a few things being left behind. At delivery, the guys took down a door to get furniture into the basement but never put it up again. They also left a moving blanket and personal items belonging to one of the guys. The items were eventually restored to their owner. 3. Not mentioning messes or problems. After the truck left I found that one of our toilets was plugged with toilet paper, paper towels, and human waste from someone that was apparently ill. Fortunately, I found the problem and was able to unplug the toilet and clean things up so this mess was not left for our cleaning crew. I think I would have responded calmly to this if I had been told about it. I can appreciate that it would have been embarrassing to report this to me. I'm human too. read more

Absolutely terrible movers. They gave us a completely false time frame to pack and move, rather than 4-5 hours it was 12 hours on the first day with 1/3 of the house left behind then 3 hours two days later. The broke numerous items, one of the four movers quit midway through the first day and wasn't replaced, adding to the total hours. Two of them were on their first day and had no idea how to pack. A single saucer had two feet of paper wrapping. They added things from different rooms to boxes, so a toaster in the box with the bedding, etc. They broke two things, gouged the stairs, stole a bottle of pain killers, asked if they could have one of our personal items, and left a bunch of stuff at the old house we had to hire a separate hauler to move. If you don't want your things damaged, move yourself or use any other moving company. What was supposed to be a few item quick move turned into a complete nightmare. Movers literally dropped my rower then lied about damaging it. Little did they know the whole move was on camera. When I called to make the claim and sent pictures with the video of them dropping it inside the truck. I was offered a$100 to settle my claim. The move cost more than that! So how does a business have workers who damage a rower with a 22inch screen and want to offer $100. The cost of moving was more than what the offer to cover my damage screen. read more

I used All Sons Movers on April 30, 2026 and I had two inexperienced movers. My boxes were placed everywhere and my instructions fell on deaf ears. My bed was not put together, my box springs is in the garage because they couldn't get it up the stairs claiming the hallway was too narrow. I have a bookcase that they couldn't maneuver so it is on the first floor landing. So I hired (2) guys to come out and do the work that these guys couldn't do. For the money that All Sons Moving Company charge, do not use them...you will be disappointed. read more

I had a terrible experience with the Detroit franchise of All My Sons. On the morning of my move, I received a voicemail at 8:00 AM stating they were banned from the U-Haul facility at 899 W. Baltimore St.--the confirmed storage location for my belongings. I couldn't answer the call, and they never followed up. No second call, no text, no solution. I had to call them at 11:00 AM, the scheduled arrival time, just to find out what was going on. No one offered to help rebook storage, even though All My Sons provides storage services. I had to scramble to rebook a new storage unit 25 miles away, turning what should've been a 12-mile round trip into a 50-mile one--and I was still charged for the extra mileage. They claimed they were "adding a fourth mover" to make up for the disruption. But when I reviewed my original reservation, I saw that three movers had been scheduled from the beginning. So no one extra was added--it was a misleading gesture. The movers were five hours late, and I ended up paying over $1,000 for a two-bedroom move that should have been local and affordable. I was left with a stressful day, more work, and extra costs caused entirely by their poor planning and communication. I do not recommend this company. Be cautious if you book with them. read more

I had an Amish Table (Heavy) with 6 chairs & 4 leaves to sell. I recommended to my customer to check Yelp for a moving company to use. They hired "All My Sons Movers". They were real professional & took the table apart to move. They knew what they were doing. The mover's will threaten not to take your belongings off the truck. They will charge you a ridicules amount of money for plastic wrap and a mirror cover. The moving company was very nice and professional. The crew of Hawk, Brian and Pierre did excellent work. They were timely, friendly, and willing to work. They made the experience very pleasant. There was an issue with communication. My advice to anyone using this company, make sure there is a detailed email with the inventory list for what the movers are supposed to move. Although there were several communication of the company moving out TWO apartments, there was only an inventory list given to the movers for ONE. There was a lot of confusion dealing with the office and not the onsite crew. If you choose to use this company just make sure everything listed, every I dotted and every T crossed. read more

They didn't pad and wrap my things, except for one dresser; after they broke it. Yet they charged me $110 for 2 mattress covers and that one moving blanket alone. They had over $700 in unexpected fees that weren't disclosed to me up front. No walkthrough was ever conducted. Craig in the office is a real piece of work. We finally agreed on a price and then he charged me $100 more. I should not be paying $1,300 for four hours of half a$$ed, unprofessional work. I could hear the movers casing my house and talking about the price values of my things they weren't even moving in rooms they shouldn't have been in. Avoid All My Sons Detroit/ Oak Park like the plague. I can't remember a time I've felt more violated or taken advantage of. Both the house I moved out of and the house I moved into have scratches and gouges all over the drywall and hard wood. To begin with, 1 of the movers showed up at 8:30am smelling of weed. But the most frustrating part is that the movers lost the legs to my 3 year old sectional which I paid $4000 for and my compensation was $30! The company made no efforts to find the legs or replace them. Their explanation was that compensation was based on the weight of the item, not the value. Now I have to replace my sectional since it is useless without legs! In addition, they left my dining room table on my front lawn, uncovered in the rain! They sent a 26' truck and although the guys (who were great) packed it like a sardine can, all the stuff didn't fit. They called for more money for the second trip, called again for more money when I asked the guys to help load a pick up (7 minutes tops) and then again when time ran out with the second trip. 4 payments. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. THE GOOD REVIEWS HAVE TO BE FAKE. They did so much damage! They literally dropped my bedroom dresser and took two HUGE chunks of wood out of it. The entire thing had scratches, top and side. I moved into a brand new construction home and just had a $5000 paint job completed. There are now LARGE GOUGES and scratches on every doorframe and wall in my house. Absolutely horrible. In addition they dropped several boxes and I had multiple dishes or glass items shattered into pieces when I opened the boxes. The reason for this is they were overstacking the dolly with boxed piled up over the handle and then holding that box with their hands. Made dents in the floor due to that. I was literally speechless when they left. I sent the owner a text, he did not respond. I sent it again and he said oh sorry contact my customer service team. Never heard from them. I should have read the Yelp reviews before I hired this company. I moved my 70 year old mother from a 2 bedroom apartment to a Senior building less than a mile away, no appliances, her bedroom set, a sofa, a microwave stand 2 tvs, and many boxes (as she was down sizing from a 2 bedroom apartment). Before the job was done I was called by the front office to pay my balance, I was told our balance was almost $900 not including the $100 deposit (2 movers). Making this an almost $1,000 move. When I asked I believe his name was Brad, if I could please see a breakdown of my bill as I thought $1000 was outrageous. This unprofessional man began to yell and rudely explain the bill to me. As a paying customer I have every right to request itemization of my bill. As not to make the situation worst I gave mother the phone to further discuss in hopes that he would become a little more professional with her. No luck!!! This very unprofessional man began to curse at my mother and hung up the phone on her!!!!!! How Rude Unprofessional and Disrespectful can a company's representative be?!? When I called back, very unhappy of course! I was told "I had less than 30 seconds to speak or he would pull the workers!" What a horrible experience for my family!!! I would never recommend this company. First, the quote over the phone was approximately $400 less than the actual. They tack on many little fees. But the most frustrating part was that they "lost" a glass shelf for a very nice cabinent. And they acually charged us $60 for packing material for that shelf. The movers that were sent I think just threw my things on the truck & did the same when they FINALLY made it to the STORAGE UNIT, (after they had to make an emergency stop at Penske to have the truck checked for trouble & while my things were inside the truck, & me sitting at the Unit *30 minutes* waiting on them to arrive). Although they stopped the clock, while getting the truck check (Mgmt explained it to me as if it was some kind of courtesy that they weren't charging me while getting that JINKY truck checked) *Are you fuckin serious-get better work equipment or have the trucks checked prior to a FuCkin job idiot & get better help too* They took there EXTRA SLOW TIME unloading the truck, taking phone breaks & just stalling. My storage unit looks a HOT F**KIN MESS! I should have definitely followed my 1st mind & utilized a better company- The receptionist never updated the Storage address, & almost had them going to another storage facility & Mgmt was also PaTHETIC. I swear I saw smoke coming out my nostrils, I was so pissed. I pray none of my things are damaged!!! Move date: June 13 2024 The center attached cushion of my two-piece couch was torn in two places in the middle of the center cushion. I did purchase the insurance and made a claim. I have been offered $50 as they told me I could sew it. The cushions are attached and do not remove for sewing. I would need to transport the entire couch to a seamstress, Which logistically is a problem. The couch is four years old and cost $1100 when it was new. It has been rendered useless. All my discussions with the claims specialists remain futile. So look out, if anything is damaged (even if you have the insurance) during your move just throw it in the garbage because they will NOT compensate you properly. read more

Worst moving company ever. I wished I would have read the reviews prior to scheduling them to do my move. The amount quoted to me was double what they charged. They literally charged me almost $1000 to move five pieces of furniture, less than 15 minutes away from where they were moving it to. The furniture was already broken down so they had minimum work to perform. I couldn't believe they final amount. I asked the driver for a receipt and phone number to someone I could call to voice my opinion. I never received a receipt and the phone number he gave me was a number that was not in service. First let me start off by saying that the contracted moving crew, Mike and Ray, were absolutely wonderful. This review in no way reflects the service they provided. They were honest, professional, and personable. However, All My Sons, moving and storage will never get my business again! This company is extremely dishonest and whatever price they give you over the phone is false. The price I was quoted on the phone was so good that I bragged about what a great deal I found. By the time we got to my new residence, the price had gone up almost $400. So to move a couch, loveseat, two end tables, A king size bedroom set, fireplace, and a bookcase less than 25 minutes away was charged over $800. I have moved a whole completely furnished house for less than that, but the false reviews on their website is what led me to give them a try. This company requires payment before the items Are offloaded. They call you to collect payment. Gerard's phone calls are the only calls in the entire world that wouldn't come thru.. I found that interesting. Swears that he was repeatedly calling my phone, but I digress. Whoever Gerard is, gave A false story about my charges. First lie, Was that the fuel charge was wrongfully applied. I call it a lie because if you check the Yelp reviews you will see that this is a common lie used by this company. Then Gerard starts naming off the things I'm being charged for some of which I didn't use at all. FYI you will get charged for a PIECE of tape that you didn't ask for. He was corrected. The price was only adjusted for the fuel "discrepancy". $50 was knocked off... lol! I said that I would never use my former moving company again because their prices were becoming outrageous, but at least they give you a honest quote. Of course The final price will be on the high end of that quote, but at least you know it won't be $400 more than what was expected. I know a lot of people who will be needing moving services soon, and I will make sure that this company will not receive any money from them. Do not be fooled by the Pleasant phone interactions And emails. It's all a game. I failed to read the real reviews before hand. I only read the ones that are on the Companies website. Do yourself a favor and read the Google Reviews. You will notice a common practice. I am grateful to GOD that I was able and prepared to pay the unexpected price.
