I'm giving 5 stars to the moving crew based out of Fairfield County CT..... They were very proffesional, hardworkers and moved everything quickly without any damage. Very good guys I was happy to tip them and treated them to some late lunch/food as well. Now the office staff in CT..... They are probably the most arrogant people I've ever talked too. I'm in the private equity business so I deal with multi-millionaires and enterprise entrepreneurs in my line of work and they are more down to earth and friendly then these guys. ALL of them.... Mike, Amanda, Sam have an attitude problem. The only good one was one guy called Peter and the first guy that sold me on this company Steven. I got lucky that I ended up with a good moving staff crew that was hard working and efficient. Be ready for a 4 hour window which you are told about 48hours before your move which isn't good for people that live in luxury buildings because the elevator needs to be reserved. I get that's not their problem but I wasn't told their was a 4 hour window till last minute. Would I use these guys again? I'm not sure I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that the office staff are good people and are just stressed out because of COVID-19, but I'm not the only person thats complained about their attitude so maybe that's just how they are. After a pleasant initial intake call, I decided not to use thaea movers. It was a price change after I left a credit card deposit. All seemed fine when Chris said he understood. Today I get an email confirming my move and the $100 deposit. I was very clear about not moving forward so don't understand why this occurred. one of my worst moving experiences I've ever had. I've moved three times in my adult life through the and dealing with my three son moving out of Stratford Connecticut was awful. I don't understand how a company could quote you an estimate over the phone without walking through your home to see what they . They insisted they needed more help. I agreed with the more help another person which I agreed at a discounted rate then when I went back to apartment the items that they said they were going to move and pack were not. I had to spend my Saturday Moving all the items that my three that they were supposed to move and they did not neglecting my child and my wife and my new home. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY For those interested in the whole story: All My Sons moving damaged my beloved antique desk beyond repair, dented my neighbors gutter with their truck, took 8 HOURS for a move that was supposed to be 3-4hrs, and in the end forced me to pay before releasing any of my stuff. I never write bad reviews but this company's lack of response to their poor service has forced me to warn people. After speaking with the branch manager 3 separate times, I never heard back from anyone in customer service like they said I would, and instead was sent a damage claim form. I filled it out for my desk worth $2500, and they offered a measly $165 as long as I signed a document saying I would not disparage them online. Well I would rather send a warning then get a fraction of my money back. UPDATE- spoke again with customer care, it seems the company policy is to only offer $165. They really do NOT care about the quality of their service. This move cost me $2300 for a 2 bedroom move that had a second location literally 2 MINUTES away. We did not have an extreme excess of stuff - I was expecting to pay about $1000 after our phone consultation, and ended up paying double. I know for a fact no other moving company in the area would charge this much for a small, local move like this. The movers were obviously not trained properly, taking double the amount of time I was quoted, damaging my stuff, charging me for a kitchen pack where they used my kitchen towels haphazardly wrap my fragile dishes and throw them in a box, and charging me extra for their "packing materials". Not to mention when they finally left the first location, they took a 40min detour when the second place was 2min away. I was lucky I had an AirTag on some luggage because I thought they were going to steal my stuff. They returned and one of the guys started trying to fix my desk with no experience, for OVER AN HOUR of move time that I was charged for! Absolutely horrible experience. Absolutely not. I should have known better when they quoted me the lowest out of all moving companies. Just know- whatever price they tell you upfront on the initial call is NOT what you are going to pay. Oh and basically everything is automated so you don't have a direct POC or contact # which I didn't like at all. I was quoted $148/hr for a 850 sq foot ONE BEDROOM apt. I packed everything up prior and got rid of a lot of larger furniture prior so it was about 25-30 boxes, a couch, dresser, bed and 2 desks, nothing crazy. Should have been able to do it in 3 hours. They sent 2 guys, one of which was new and in training and did not preface on the front end so the other guy had to basically carry his weight, not to mention, it took him 20 minutes at BOTH locations just to park the damn truck because he was new. Not only did the price triple at the end once I got the final quote but they tried charging me $1,600 for a 5.5 hour move that could have been done in 2 with 4 guys. It was ridiculous....and no I did not pay that lol my husband and I freaked out because what the actual fu**. I would NOT recommend and definitely will never be using them again (nothing against the two men we had- they were great) and were careful and didn't break anything! Charged double the initial estimate. Basically bait and switch and outright lied about how they charged, then refused to unload the truck if I didn't pay the new amount. A move that should have taken 4 hours took 10 hours. They blamed traffic. I drove the same road and there was no traffic. Workers extremely slow, arrived 2 hours late, then sat around in the truck. I hired All My Sons to do a one-mile move of a really tall and heavy washer/dryer combo tower from a first-floor condo to the basement of a house. I called the day before we needed to move it, and got lucky that they had a cancelation and could squeeze us in with 1 days notice. The unit was heavy and awkward and had to go down some steep stairs into a basement. The movers handled the job professionally and got the machine into the basement with no damage to the machine, the house, or themselves. That was quite an accomplishment!!! If I had one concern about All My Sons it's their failure to clearly communicate pricing and liability limitations. I was told that their minimum charge is 2 hours. It's actually 2 hours plus travel time. And, I wasn't told that their liability limitation is 60 cents per pound. That would have come out to $240 for a $1500 appliance -- definitely not enough to replace the appliance if something had happened. I might not have hired All My Sons if I'd seen this. My moving experience was horrible. The day of moving, I received a call from an unknown number. The person on the phone asked if they could come earlier because they finished their other job early. I asked them to come at the agreed upon time. They then switched me off to another crew, so I received another call from another unknown number. This second crew was then late. They seemed very unhappy to be working that day, a Saturday. The two movers on site saw my apartment and told me that the work would take much longer than what was originally quoted. I had already given the company an inventory of my items and explained that my old address was a three-floor walkup. The movers were very slow in moving my items and when they arrived at my new address, there were pieces missing on furniture, scratches on furniture, etc. When they were unloading, I was observing from another floor, and the movers were constantly idling and on their phones for a lot of the time. Then after a few hours, they said they were past their allotted time and told me to call the company to adjust the quote. I called the company phone number many times and no one answered. The movers then offered to finish moving items if I paid them separately for the remainder of the move. I was upset because they left the largest pieces of furniture for last and on the sidewalk. I said I would figure it out on my own, and they begrudgingly helped me move the last of my items. I still tipped them a lot and even gave one of the movers one of my AC units that I was going to toss because I didn't need it anymore. My movers were scheduled to arrive between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM, yet I received a call at 7:59 AM informing me that the move has been canceled. I was informed that the cancellation was due to a driver not showing up. I had two customer service people call. Do yourself a favor and never use All Sons Moving Company. From start to finish, my experience was a disaster. On the morning of my move, they called to increase my rate by about $50/hour--completely unexpected and not agreed upon beforehand. On top of that, they tacked on hidden fees that added over $500 to my total cost beyond the hourly rate. The movers themselves were shockingly unprofessional. They left my rug behind at my apartment building, then took two trips and two hours to retrieve it--even though my apartment was only a 5-minute drive from the storage unit. On the final attempt to bring the rug over, they managed to hit a car with their moving van. It didn't end there. They forgot to have me fill out required paperwork, so one mover had to come back to my apartment an hour later. When I was alone with him, he told me he'd like to "hang out" sometime and mentioned he had my phone number from the move. As a young woman, I found this deeply uncomfortable and inappropriate. When I reached out to Jason, the operations manager, he was dismissive, unhelpful, and seemed unable--or unwilling--to understand why my experience was unacceptable. Thought I would add another one star review. I called and got a quote to move a bed and a couch one mile from my apartment to a storage unit. I was given a price quote of 159 dollars for the move and 80 dollars for the storage units if chose them to store my stuff. I gave a deposit of 100 dollars and was satisfied. A few days before my move I got another call to confirm everything and was told now it would be a minimum 2 hours for a move (not abnormal or unreasonable as other movers do this) but I was disappointed. I was also told I would be charged an additional hour for the movers to drive to me and then back (this is abnormal and aggressive! as no movers in my area do this). Then I was told my 80 dollar per month storage quote was per unit and I was looking at needing 3 units total so 160. I was angry but still agreed to pay 529 total with no storage rental. I was being ripped off thoroughly but would have still agreed to pay 529 because I was exhausted from moving. However, greed got the best of the movers and I was also sent a new non binding price quote of 2000 dollars in the event the move took more time than expected!! Again my move involved a bed and couch going a distance of 1-3 miles from my apartment to a local storage facility. Then I read through the quote and there is also a has a mileage fee calculated as 11 percent of total cost of moving!!! This was what finally drove me to cancel my move. They had to go for the most extreme rip off conceivable and would have been fine if they had just chosen to rip me off proper and hardcore instead of a legendary booty GRAPING. I completed the move myself at a cost of 19.95 to rent a U-Haul truck and do the lifting myself. So thank you all my sons for forcing me to not be lazy I guess. They are taking their sweet time giving me back my 100 dollar deposit and I will probably need to dispute the charge. I wanted to add that I called another mover that also wanted a high rate but nothing like all my sons. I'm really surprised at these reviews here! I used these guys for a HUGE move, two pick up locations and a final drop off across three different towns. An entire house of stuff plus big stuff they junked for us and they got it done in 5 freaking hours dude. Nothing damaged and they knew how to drive the giant truck they needed for our move because one place had a tight parking situation. I highly recommend Timothy and his team, that's who we had and I can't say enough good about them and how much they helped us that stressful day. I had a terrible experience dealing with this company, specifically the local branch in Stratford, CT. They put in a lot of effort to win your business, but once you sign a contract, their service is nothing short of awful. Here are a few issues I faced: 1) The movers arrived three hours late. 2) They quoted me one rate but billed me at a higher rate. 3) An additional person they sent to assist with the move was drunk and ended up damaging our furniture, even completely destroying some pieces. The My Sons Moving & Storage office at Hartford, CT set up my moving in the afternoon based on my request after paid the $100 deposit. In the quote there was no mention about the material cost and gas cost until I paid deposit. But the company mis-recorded my moving is in the afternoon and planed to semt crews in the morning. Later they transferred my appointment to their office at Stratford, CT. The three men who did the moving jobs have different level of skills. One thing that shocked my was before they unload the furniture at the destination they asked me to pay the final payment immediately. When I asked to wait until the job is done or see the list of the bill I was told that were No and No and this is the company's policy. I hired this moving company on a Sunday afternoon for a Monday afternoon move. I was quoted about $600 with the final price being just over $700. The communication about fees and how it all adds up was explained to me very clearly and I was not surprised by the price. It should be noted that I hired this company to move antique furniture from Fairfield to Hartford, and as such the price was not a shock. The two gentleman who moved my furniture were especially cautious with the antiques and were quick to make sure I was okay with how things were packed. I cannot begin to explain what a terrible and costly mistake it was to use this company. In summation, my experience with them was nothing short of appalling. Just to be brief, I booked a move last Saturday for the following Monday and was quoted $630. The person I booked with seemed confident that the cost would not dramatically exceed the quote, but may fluctuate moderately. The team showed up an hour and a half late, putting me off schedule and causing me to have to pay staff at my new building to be there and run the freight elevator at a cost out of my own pocket. In my old building, the team was observed taking long breaks every time they went downstairs. They were smoking and talking and definitely padding the time everything took. They damaged several pieces of furniture including a desk that was thrown up on it's side, the corner crushed and then dragged it across the floor. They also chipped and nicked a dresser and nightstand and took an entire cart of artwork and threw it into the truck, breaking numerous pictures and leaving the glass inside, which cut up several other irreplaceable pieces. Most shockingly, when they arrived at my new building, they took a halloween prop (a severed arm) that I had around my house for the season and tied it to the back of their truck to appear as though they ran over someone. I was speechless when they arrived and they were treating it like some kind of a joke. This may just be a prop, but it was given to me during a production I worked on by a person I consider a mentor who died some years ago - it was STOLEN by the moving crew. Insane. After the move, the team lead, Dennis, feebly tried to pay me for the prop but I refused, resolving to contact lot management the next day to get it back. I wasn't about to start an argument in my home with these men still dropping off my things. Once finished, I was handed a bill that was over 110% of the quote I initially agreed to and made sure my move would fit within - which was confirmed by two staffers, Brad and Sam (the latter denied that he provided any such assurance - a lie.) I paid 1340 for a move that was supposed to be 630-800 at the maximum. The fact that the team didn't bother to disclose this feels like a clear bait and switch, putting me into a position where I had no choice but to pay up. Upon contacting their management in CT, I got the runaround talking to low-level staffers who repeatedly dodged requests to speak with lot management. One person, Amanda, who I spoke to before the job even began called this team "my favorite" -- I was not able to get her on the phone once everything went to hell. I finally tracked down their manager, Mike, who basically dodged any kind of responsibility on the issues I was having, the theft and damage by the moving crew or the doubling of the cost, instead shunting me over to the claims department and promising the problems would be resolved in a matter of days. Claims says this process can take up to a month. Overall, this place promises the moon to you only long enough to get your deposit and or complete the job at which point they slap you with additional costs, damage to items some of which may be irreplaceable and then refuse to acknowledge the depths of their collective incompetence. I am in the process of attempting to have ALL moving costs returned to me. Even if I could overlook the damage to my belongings, at the end of the day they stole something of mine and co-opted it as a joke. The question that begs the answer is: they were in possession of all of my things for several hours -- what else did they go through that I just haven't noticed yet? Do not use this company if you care about your items not being damaged or fair quotes. Movers randomly selected items packed in our homes in no sensical order and then claimed there was not room on the truck that multiple companies INCLUDING TWO PHONE CALLS WITH THIS ONE said would fit our small apartment. We were left with MANY items we had to move ourselves because they wanted to make a second trip, then also moved very slowly and stopped for lunch on our dime which added to the time. A small apartment at $159 per hour turned into a $1700 trip 15 minutes away to our new home. Gas is an 11% charge of the total which was not part of the quote regardless of distance! On top of this, my son's brand new bed was scratched, nicked, scraped, and damaged with chunks missing. They moved a crib and left parts of the crib in my driveway, along with bolts that were then missing from our master bed. Totally gone - can't put our bed back together. The company insisted we leave clothes in our dressers to move like that, and the movers refused and took everything apart. Our clean clothes fell all along the driveway. They took apart our armoire and then said it couldn't fit out of the apartment even though it moved that way, and now it's left there. The movers didn't know we spoke Spanish and complained and talked crap the entire time very unprofessionally, and when they called headquarters so I could talk about something that upset me, the man on the phone ON SPEAKER spoke badly about me to the mover forgetting he was on speaker. I am most upset about the lack of care with our items and how damaged they are. The night before the move they sent a text about signing up for item protection, and the link didn't work.
