I'm so happy the folks below had a great experience because I had THE WORST MOVE OF MY LIFE. Never in a million years would I wish the experience I had with this company & their movers on anyone else. If I could give them zero stars, I would have. Where to begin ... I utilized this moving team on Thursday, July 30th to pack a UHaul & I am absolutely livid by the service I received. If you want to skip this novel, just take a look at the pictures of my furniture post-move to make your moving decision :) First, it took the 3-man moving crew FOUR HOURS to load my one bedroom apartment & they didn't even finish that!!!! I had everything organized, packed up, & ready to go so it could be quick for them. Second, the treatment of my furniture & belongings was horrendous. At the recommendation of Connecticut's Finest Movers, I added furniture blankets to my order. I had a total of 36. ZERO of these were used until I came down from my apartment to find my queen size head board being pushed into the UHaul - leaving scratches all the way down the side of it. Not to mention money down the drain for renting furniture blankets. How about the mattress bags I bought to encase my mattress & box spring? They were taken out of the packaging but I found them unused & laying in my bedroom floor. When I asked about this the crew leader said it's easier to put them on once the mattress is at the truck. When I see my head board loaded on to the truck, I find the mattress & box springs have been loaded onto the truck without the bags. There's more money down the drain & now the box spring & mattress have marks down the side. I spent well over $1500 on the bed frame, mattress, & box spring and now they are in awful shape thanks to CT's Finest Movers. These 3 items were delivered & set up by Macy's & this was their very first move. Completely ruined thanks to the moving team! This doesn't even scratch the surface (pardon the pun) of the moving team's behavior while on the clock ... - No masks were worn while working. We are in the midst of a world pandemic. Safety of the team & customer should be the company's #1 priority. - One of the movers spent more time on his phone than he actually did moving furniture or boxes. - The team broke my building's elevator & we lost 30 minutes while waiting for a repair man to come fix it. Instead of staging the boxes outside the elevator & then loading them onto it, they left a box in the pathway of the empty elevator door so it couldn't close all the way. They staged the boxes outside of the elevator & once it was time for them to load the boxes onto the elevator, they couldn't get the door open because it had timed out. Ultimate laziness. While the elevator was broken, instead of continuing to move things down the stairs, they stood outside chatting or spent time on their phones. - I rented a utility dolly & a furniture dolly for the team to use. Neither were used to help expedite the move. - I had plenty of movers wrap for my furniture to be wrapped & none of it was used to protect my belongings. The only things wrapped were items I had already wrapped prior to their arrival. - The time frame I was given to expect the team was between 1:30-3. The movers arrived at 3:50 pm. That should have been a red flag of their previous move. I did a lot of research to avoid nightmare movers & thought I was going with the best. I am so disappointed in the service I received from this company & the amount of money wasted with the company due to the service received & all the broken/damaged furniture due to the lack of care by your team. I reached out to the moving company via email on 8/3 but heard nothing back. I reached out to UHaul's Moving Help to have them file a complaint & I haven't heard anything back there either. The owner could clearly care less. He's just in it to send out poor moving crews & collect his money. The workers showed up 90 minutes late, but traffic in the area is bad, so I wasn't upset. Once the movers arrived they got right to work - very nice guys and quick workers. Things happen during a move, and I always expect something. In this case, the movers lost grip on a dresser while turning on the stairs, gouging and scuffing the wall and dresser. The wall needs patching, sanding and painting. Again... things happen. They were very apologetic. Now here is the problem: The supervisor called Peter (the owner?) to report the damage and Peter told him to negotiate with me on how to fix it. I said to knock something off the move and we'd not worry about it. (I expected Peter would offer $100 and off we go, no hard feelings. They finished in half the contracted time anyway.) The supervisor tells me that if they reduced the invoice he wouldn't get paid for the job, so am I willing to let him run to get repair supplies and try to fix it. He's a mover with no drywall experience... So now I am expected to negotiate questionable repair services with my movers just because this company won't stand behind it's people?? Incredibly awkward conversation. Peter never called to check on the move. Never asked if we were satisfied. And charged me for the total time, even though they finished in half the time AND damaged my brand new home. Bottom line - nice guys, bad management. We chose Connecticut's Finest Movers b/c they had the highest ratings. I'm not sure why our experience was so horrible. When I first called, Peter said he was booked for that day, he hesitated and then said he could do it. Peter quoted me a price basing it on the size of the house. I explained that it was a rental and we had a basement half full of boxes we never opened from the move 2 years prior from a house. He assured me it was no problem. I asked if he wanted to come look and he said it was fine. The day of the move, the movers complained that they were still tired from the 12 hour day before and they were mad at Peter. They were very polite to me and seemed to be doing a good job. However, nothing was wrapped in moving blankets. It ended up taking them longer than anticipated and they had to call Peter for help and another truck! It was a local move so luckily travel was not an issue. They unpacked quickly and it ended up being a ten hour day for them. I did notice that there was a rip in my mattress cover for which I received $20 off. BUT, I was charged an additional $800+ dollars OVER the estimate. Peter said I had more than he thought, charged me $40 each for 3 movers for 2 hours each extra. Then he charged me $140 for 4 hours for himself. I told him I asked him to come out to look but he wouldn't. He told he wasn't charging me for the extra truck. Then we started unpacking. Boxes marked bedroom were two floors down in the basement and vice versa. Boxes marked fragile were UNDER heavy boxes. Boxes marked this side up were sideways. Every few days we found more damage. Furniture was chipped and scratched. My bed was put together incorrectly and missing bolts. The corner of the glass was cracked on a large framed picture that they didn't wrap. A glass shelf was installed incorrectly in my etegere and came crashing down. Luckily it didn't shatter. The worst came when we found that they had broken the legs off a utility table, just put boxes under it to prop it up and then actually put boxes on top of it. While we were unpacking the very heavy table top fell. We were very lucky it did not hit our feet especially since we were wearing sandals. I'm sorry the guys were overworked. I gave them water, soda, and ice pops. It was not my fault that Peter's estimate was so off. He had an attitude or was just unfriendly every time I spoke to him. Maybe if he hadn't overbooked his guys my belongings wouldn't have been carelessly handled. Maybe if he came out to give me an estimate I wouldn't have been surprised when my bill almost doubled. I am so disgusted and dissatisfied with their service that it's taken me two months to be able to write this review. read more

These guys did a great job moving all kinds of furniture and belongings for me. They were extremely flexible and really friendly. They were understanding that not everything was moving with me, which I know can be frustrating as a mover. They moved a really heavy piano, multiple furnishings, and endless boxes, all with smiles and laughs. What a great team. They were so good with my stuff that the little sticky notes I had put on my furniture was still on there when they put it in my new place. I'll definitely use them next time I move. The window they gave for arrival was 8:30-9:30. I texted at 8:15 to see if they could narrow it down and was told they were running late and wouldn't arrive until about 10:30. Annoying, but not a huge deal. The crew loaded our stuff up speedily for the amount of the things we had (admittedly a lot) and unloaded them at the new house just as speedily. The main reason I'm not sure if I would recommend them is what I found later in the day. One of the drawers on a dresser of ours had been broken before the move- we knew that and had intended on fixing it after it was unloaded. The dresser had a mirror attached which had been removed and reattached by the movers. When we tried to remove the mirror to get at the backing of the dresser, we found that the screws had been completely stripped. I wrote to the owner, who told me they always use an Allen key on a drill to disassemble things- no matter what type of screw it is! These were Torx screws and we had a screwdriver that could have been used if asked, but instead they just jammed an Allen key in. Because we now have to buy a kit to remove the stripped screws, as well as new screws, I asked for a partial refund for those costs. It would only end up being $15, but it's the principle - your company broke it, your company pays to fix it. I was given the partial refund but the amount of condescension I was treated with first was disgusting. The owner treated me like a jerk for trying to get him to take responsibility for the wrong method that his guys regularly use. If we hadn't tried to fix the drawer that day, we wouldn't have known that the dresser couldn't be disassembled (with the normal tools we have) until we next tried to move. So, I guess if you don't have any furniture that needs disassembling, these guys are great. If you do, maybe stand by with your own tool kit and watch them like a hawk. read more

I highly recommend CT's Finest Movers! They recently moved some heavy furniture out from my home. They loaded and packed their truck very carefully using plenty of pads. They also unloaded my belongings from their truck and packed them very efficiently and safely into a storage facility compartment. The team of three men were professional, efficient, polite and respectful to me, as well as to each other. Peter told me what the cost would be prior to the move and that's exactly what I was charged after the work was done--very honest and good to do business with. My girlfriend hired Peter/Mohammed for a move within CT. They were extremely friendly and detail-oriented with the move. Needless to say they were extremely strong and didn't really take any breaks. I was amazed at how fast they packed up our U-haul truck, especially on such a hot-humid day. Furthermore, I was also impressed at how efficient the loading of our stuff was in terms of how organized it was on the truck - furniture was put onto the truck in a manner that wasted no space, allowing us just one trip to the new house. They also assembled/disassembled some of of furniture, which was a big plus, and they stayed a bit later even though the move exceeded their allocated time with us. This group showed up on time, did great work, and cost-wise was not bad at all. Will definitely use them again for any future moves! read more

This review is specifically for piano movers. (which are hard to find!) I can't say enough about these movers. I contacted them (and four other companies) through Yelp to get a quote for moving my baby grand piano from my condo into storage. It was pretty short notice--needed it all to happen in less than a week, and when I followed up, it was only 48 hours before the move because I was traveling a lot at that point and time just slipped away. Not only were they the only ones to write back to my yelp message (and the same day!) but the owner, Peter, came out before the move to see the site and make sure he got all the logistics down. The quote was competitive with other companies in the area, but the service was unbeatable. And the move wasn't easy--It's an Emerson piano, which is like the weight of a boulder, and it was going from a sunken living room, up the stairs, out the front door with a couple stairs and a railing on it, down a hill to the front of my condo's parking lot. They have this awesome dolly that will ensure the most stability when moving it, and took the time to wrap and pad the entire piano before the move. It was a group of four men and they communicated and truly worked as a team when moving it. They also were super communicative with me, calling me to let me know they were on their way to my house in the morning. When I got a head start to the storage unit to fill out the forms, they called me when they were all packed up and heading that way, and once again at night to thank me for business. Amazing professionalism that is hard to find. When they got my piano to the storage unit, they set it back up for me and were super conscious of my preferences--where it would be placed inside the unit, whether I wanted the plastic wrap to be taken off of it (FYI, I read it's recommend to remove it when storing, to prevent humidity getting trapped inside) I even had some stuff I moved in my own car i brought up on a dolly and they put it into the storage unit without me even asking! Overall, if I ever need a mover again, I will 100% go to them. The employees were super friendly and professional and compared to the service I used when moving the piano into the condo, this was a phenomenal upgrade. **And their website currently says they only offer movers and you supply a truck. This is no longer true. They have a nice, new 20ft flatbed which is included in the moving quote you get. read more

I moved from Chicago to Connecticut, and contacted Connecticut's Finest Movers to help us unload our things off the truck on a Sunday morning. The crew of two, Peter and Mohamed, were prompt, professional and efficient. They finished unloading everything in one hour, and spend the second hour helping reassemble all the furniture. Given that it took a crew of four 2.5 hours to load the truck, I was pleasantly surprised at the speed for unloading. Would recommend! I originally had full service movers planned that disastrously fell apart last minute (that's another review...), but was very happy to find movers who did a great job loading and unloading our things. read more

The crew that moved us was excellent. To offer a bit of context, we moved on December 21st and we were hosting Christmas at our new house, so we needed to complete as much of the move and house set up as possible on the move date. We arranged for a 3 man crew for 4 hours to move from a 5 bedroom house to a 4 bedroom house. The actual move time was 7 hours, so the guys stayed for 3 hours extra (we paid an overtime rate which was very reasonable). They were prompt, friendly, careful and courteous. They were able to move some large pieces through some small spaces and there was no damage to our stuff or to the home. These guys did a phenomenal job! read more

I have moved many times, and I have used a wide variety of movers. We used Connecticut's Finest Movers this weekend, and they were by far the best movers In my experience. Peter, the owner, was quick to reply upon my inquiry, and was gracious, informative and prompt in subsequent communications. Peter and two other men arrived promptly on the day of the move, after texting about a half hour before to give me their ETA. They had a clean truck, and we're thoughtful about where they parked it (not always the case with movers). They got straight to work! They carefully and systematically removed everything from the house, communicating with each other and with us in a way that was clear and friendly. They moved everything quickly and in a very organized way. They asked thoughtful questions, and did just what we requested. If there were any (minor) snafus, they fixed it quickly and nicely. They finished within the time frame, and our credit card was charged when they finished. I could not recommend them more highly! read more

It is my opinion that the job took longer than it should have. At times, movers were walking out of the apartment with one item in hand versus loading up a hand truck or at least using 2 hands to carry items. One of the hand trucks had a flat tire, and I overheard conversation that they didn't have the tools they needed. I'm assuming this is why it took longer, but do not believe we should have been charged for the company's failure to ensure preparedness and we were. Second, a few items were left in the service elevator of our apartment building for several hours. Finally, we detected a smell of weed and alcohol on the movers. For these reasons, I do not recommend Connecticut's Finest Movers. read more

It's OK to just tell us if they do not have any availability and/or don't want to job, but totally unprofessional to just give an arbitrary price. read more

I recently moved to West Hartford from Michigan. It was a big move and I had a 16 foot pod sent to my new address. I hired this moving company to unload the pod for me. I will definitely be using them again. The workers were highly professional and efficient. They arrived on time and unloaded my pod within the timeframe I was quoted at. Great experience with these guys, they are extremely professional and very courteous. I'm giving them 5 stars because I feel that they went above and beyond the expected level of service. They were prompt and very careful with our furniture and our walls, nothing was scratched or broken. They even helped us move out a sofa and several other heavy items that (unbeknownst to us) the previous resident had left there. This was at no extra charge, although we had hired them for unloading services only as we drove our own truck across country. I hired this company to unload our moving truck. Two men showed up and unloaded the UHaul in less then an hour. We were impressed until we noticed a box missing. This box was labeled "laptop, camera's, checkbooks." When I called Peter, owner of CT Finest Movers, he became irate over the phone- yelling and talking over me. He was not letting me give him the facts. He then told me that he had NOTHING to say to me, that he doesn't hire men who steal. I tried to explain to him how we came to this proven conclusion, but he yelled over me, and then told me I was accusing his men of stealing my box because I was a racist. My husband and I are absolutely awestruck, insulted, and shaking after this horrible encounter with this company. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. We are now filing a police report. read more
