I spent over $8,000 on a move with Kaster last May (2017). It has taken me until now to receive a check for my claim on damaged items. Here's what you can expect if you I foolish enough to employ Kaster: * Movers will show up late (2 hours at least) every day * Most of the crew will have NO idea how to move a household. We had guys simply stop packing a room when they were only half finished * We had to pack 3 rooms ourselves * Because they are always late, they have to rush to finish before "quitting time" and, as a result, end up just throwing your items into the back of the truck. 2 flat screen TVs were crushed because they were not even wrapped in the truck. * They said they had a lot of experience moving pianos - but were lying! They put the legs on my piano on backwards, it crashed to the floor and caused $16,000 in damage to the piano by moving it so carelessly! They reimbursed me $600 instead.j * Kevin Kaster - the President - is an arrogant, condescending, rude and unprofessional individual. He will NEVER call you back, even if there is a crisis (and his staff lies if you ask if he is in the office) Bottom line is that you might as well just throw your stuff out on the street and hope that some of it makes it to your new location. Chances are much better if your do this than if you deal with this hugely terrible company. One star is 1 too many! read more

I was out from Joint Base Lewis McChord (WA state) to help my brother move from a four bedroom house in Monroe to a two bedroom condominium in Shelton. It was last minute when I called Kaster Moving Company, as two other moving companies had failed to follow through & move him. I spoke directly with the owner, Kevin, who also came by to access the situation the next day. He was able to get a four man crew out to the house the following day. The four gentlemen were phenomenal. They showed up fifteen minutes prior & had awesome attitudes & personalities. They made the move much less stressful with their friendly & pleasant demeanors. Their work ethic was remarkable as they continued to work hard from start to finish with smiles on their faces. I cannot say enough about the entire staff who I talked with &/or met. From the first "Hello" to the last handshake they all went above & beyond my hopes. I did tell them on several occasions that their staff & their services were second to none. My family had a very unique housing situation which not only changed dates, but places and the need for storage. What could have been incredibly difficult was managed beautifully by the team at Kaster. They completely lessened our burden in a very stressful time. Not only were the administrators very accommodating, but the team of movers themselves very very kind, professional, and went above and beyond - even helping cut back some bushes at my request so we could fit a piece of furniture through the Bilco door into the basement. I had a massive amount of items, and a vintage house with difficult doors and halls and they handled everything perfectly. The items were handled with care and they put everything where I asked - even accommodating my indecision when I decided that I wanted an item in a different location. We just had a great experience with this moving company and I would highly recommend them! Everyone at Kaster was wonderful - John did our estimate and gave me great advise about packing, Jamie in the office was always helpful, responsive, and flexible. The crew that showed up were all great and we were impressed that almost all of them had been with Kaster for 5 - 10 years. We had our belongings in Kaster's storage facility for one month and they were very flexible about changing the move-in date. Atlas moved all of our stuff from the storage facility down to Florida and they were also great to work with. Nothing was damaged or broken. I found Kaster to be a very easy company to work with. They always pick up their phone (not the case with the other 3 moving companies that I called) and their price was very competitive. I always felt like we (and all our belongings) were in great hands during the process of our move. read more

I was quite apprehensive after reading all the horror stories about movers, but just completed a 4 part move with Kaster and they were fantastic, from Jamie in the office to Dan the final mover. Our move was complicated:a pick-up of a piano plus other items from a friend who was donating the items to my granddaughter (they were stored in Kasters warehouse until the actual move AT NO CHARGE FOR STORAGE); A partial load pick-up from the apartment in CT for delivery to Florida; a pick-up for the balance at the apt for delivery to my daughter in central MA and another stop to the granddaughter in central CT. Every pick-up and delivery was on time as scheduled with advance notice for every stop. The company and personnel were outstanding and I would strongly recommend them. BTW, the actual costs came out LESS EXPENSIVE THAN THE ESTIMATES. read more

Kaster Moving is like the navy seals of movers. Last week I was told my roommate and I had to move out before the shelter in place order in nyc. I, obviously, was in a huge panic that I wouldn't be able to get all my belongings in time and giving Kaster moving very little notice. They were there promptly the next day, in and out in less than 3 hours. I barely had my shoes packed up before my apt was in the truck. The movers had such empathy and compassion for my situation, I felt like they were an old friend or neighbor just helping me out - don't let that fool you though, these are PROFESSIONALS. I grew up in Fairfield County and always saw Kaster trucks on the road; so when I found myself having to make a major move, they are the first company I thought of. Even though I felt like I knew them cause I saw them around town all the time, I still did my research. Come to find out, Kaster is rated A+ with the BBB. From my first phone call to them and to the last piece of furniture getting delivered to my home, I felt completely comfortable and confident with the people and the services they were performing. I have used Kaster Moving on 2 occasions . The first for my dad from Florida to Connecticut and my family and I thought they did a wonderful job right from the start.
