He really good though and he'll keep you laughing the entire time, just a really down to earth guy. All of his staff and his assistants are very good and take very good care of you while your there. What I like about Lumberton Dental is that they accept cash payments for dental work which is good for me because my Medicare doesn't pay for Dental or Vision! They will also work with you on your payments and your office visits and that works out very well for me! I can stretch out my visits to fit my income, pay my bills and pay my dentist!!! I'll tell that when you come here you'll feel so at ease that if you get left in your chair too long while he's tending to another patient, you might find yourself wanting to take a short nap! Well, before I could plan anything, I broke a tooth last week. Luckily there was no pain but it had to be fixed. I called Dr. Rashall's office around 2:30. and they had me in at 3:15 getting X-rays and an exam. No lectures...just great care. I was told it was better than I had feared and only needed a filling instead of a crown. They got my care plan together. They couldn't get to it until May but said it would be fine. I was ok with it as I wasn't even an existing patient so how could I complain? I let them know I worked in town and was flexible if they had a cancellation. My insurance covered 100% that first visit, I was back the next day to get a temporary filling as the jagged tooth was bothering my tongue. They got me in within a couple, of hours and again, I paid nothing out of pocket. Today, at 2:20, they called with a cancellation and had me come in at 2:45. By 3:50, my tooth was fixed and I was back to work. There was no pain or discomfort at all during or after the procedure. I definitely have found my new dentist and cannot recommend him highly enough! I'm actually looking forward for them to schedule my full exam and getting on a regular care schedule with their hygienists. I never thought I'd say that.

They are just on another level when…read moreit comes to root canals with their equipment and expertise and can handle the difficult root canals that general dentists aren't equipped to do or perhaps correct a mistake of a previous dentist *cough* after you've already got a crown or already had a root canal that didn't get sealed up right or whatever other horror show you're dealing with. Honestly, I'm even debating whether I would just come here first even for a more routine root canal which hopefully I won't need because they are so precise and don't drill the holes any bigger than they need to be. Cost-wise, they ARE more expensive than your regular dentist if you're comparing apples to apples but you're really not comparing apples to apples here because all they do here is root canals and specialize in it. Having said that, I felt the price wasn't outrageous and fair given the quality of work and saving my tooth. The only room for improvement is getting the notes and referral papers back and forth from your general dentist and them. They not only did not receive the notes my dentist had sent them but they also failed to send their notes to her on that day so you might want to call and double check that they got everything before you go there and have to pretend to be a dentist- pro tip: If you want to sound smart, remember the tooth numbers and use fancy terms like "referred pain".

The staff here are extremely professional and the assistants are very gentle and warm, which really help put my mind at ease (or as at ease as possible while you are anticipating certain doom). Dr. Mendez was very knowledgeable, confident and explained everything very clearly and reassured me that the root canal procedure would be painless. And that it was. They were very good about numbing me up and asked how I felt all along the way. What also helped was getting to watch Netflix with headphones on which helped drown out the drilling noise a bit, but also took my mind off what was happening. I waited for about half an hour to get inside, did the cone beam CT scan and get back to get numb. The procedure itself probably took about an hour after I numbing set in. Once Dr. Mendez was done, I think she was off to the next. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to talk as I was still laying there with the things keeping my mouth open. She did mention everything looked good and when she said it was done I felt a huge sigh of relief. Then the other staff member helped with a final x-ray, cleaning up and getting my temporary crown back on. She was great and also explained post-procedure items. All in all, I was extremely impressed and glad I came here. Here's to hoping I never have to come back!
