This was my first visit to this practice. I loved that I had zero issues getting an appointment. I didn't have to wait for MONTHS like most practices. I did have to wait a few weeks, but they are very well staffed, so it makes it nice to not have to live and die by appointments set in stone in case you need to reschedule. Parking was very easy. Can you trust a good dentist when they are a part of a bad business practicing unscrupulous billing? Read more to find out. MetLife Dental Insurance partners with in-network providers that agree to - rate for services. When a provider is in-network, you should be able to rely on MetLife's negotiated rate. With that said, District Dental is considered in-network for MetLife members and therefore rate for services is already negotiated. Members should feel at peace knowing they can rely on a negotiated rate unless something unscrupulous happens. It might help to explain that I experienced severe tooth pain and decided to see an in-network dentist (District Dental). Getting straight to the point. My dentist provided options for treatment. Nothing unscrupulous about that. In fact, I was impressed with the care I received and ready to move forward with one of the treatment plans. That is until I met with billing. Billing reviewed my insurance and coverage, for billing code 2950 - core buildup. Cost for procedure: $120. But I found that strange, because I had this exact treatment done twice in 2022, but it was significantly less. How? A discussion on cost ensued and we figured the out-of-pocket cost is actually $60, after MetLife pays its portion. So, why am I being charged $120? Here's the unscrupulous part - according to District Dental, there's no guarantee MetLife covers this procedure and therefore payment for full price (non-negotiated rate) upfront is required. You get reimbursed after MetLife approves the claim. That was a Red Flag for me, so I called MetLife to find out. There have been some problems with getting reimbursed by MetLife for this bill code according to District Dental. Sounds like a trust issue between MetLife and provider. Pay attention to the word I used "Trust". MetLife reviewed my coverage details with me and concluded the procedure was covered under my policy for the negotiated rate of $60. I asked, why is my bill $120? MetLife explained to bill full price (that means non-negotiated rate) for a member in-network was not a best practice and goes against MetLife's guidelines for their providers, furthermore MetLife told me this is not a common practice they hear about and to file a grievance against the provider with MetLife. The representative ended our conversation with an important point. They said, if this provider had trouble getting reimbursed by MetLife, then it sounds like there's a trust issue and the provider should contact MetLife to discuss their concerns. I thought about what she said and possibly what she was alluding to. Does that mean District Dental can't trust MetLife, or MetLife can't trust District Dental's billing? What did I learn from my experience here? Frist, I'll never be back. Second, check your bill against your coverage. Then check your bill again against your coverage. And then check your bill against your coverage again. PROS: Booking Appointment, excellent; Customer Service, excellent; Dentist, excellent; Facility, excellent; CONS: Payment/Billing, unscrupulous. read more

I was seven (7) minutes late but I came in with allow my New Patient forms filled out. I waited another 10 minutes before being escorted to the back. Josh was my hygienist and he was very thorough with the x-rays and the measuring of the pockets around my teeth. Dr. Thomas came in and explained why I needed a partial deep cleaning. All good! Next comes the person who does the plan, except here is where you need to pay attention. She charged me for a whole mouth deep cleaning and not a partial and on top of all of this Dr. Thomas was with a patient and so there was no clarification. Then it was explained I would not be getting my teeth cleaned today. So after being there for 1 hour and 15 minutes, District is going to charge for my x-rays the service I made an appt for was NOT COMPLETED. I was a loyal client at this facility and I hate to write this review. However, in the past 3+ years of going here, I think things have changed for the worse. I have, on numerous occasions, booked with a specific hygienist only to see someone random--not informed ahead of time of the change. I've also gotten fillings here that were less than satisfactory, requiring revisions. Big no no for me because I want a dentist who I can trust they will take care of my teeth properly. Lastly, I stopped going because of the COVID cost. It's actually not a standard practice to charge extra for PPE ... I called around different dental places in the area to verify. A box of masks and gloves isn't that expensive. $35/person covers a box of gloves and masks and I'm sure you don't need a box of either per person. Let me first start by saying that I've been going to the same dentist for close to 10 years and haven't been unhappy for any particular reason. I've just been having this sensitivity issue that I can't seem to permanently fix; so, long story short, I decided to give another dentist a try. I found District Dental on Yelp and decided to go with them based on ratings and reviews. I'm satisfied, but it wasn't enough to make me want to permanently make the switch. Their office is new, very contemporarily (is that even a word?) decorated, and it's located in a nice shopping center with ample (free) parking. Their staff is also very nice and friendly, but I wouldn't say their knowledge, technology/equipment, or protocols set them apart from my other dentist. I've been visiting District Dental for over 9 months now.This will be my go to dental office for my continual dental treatment! Dr. Thomas is my dentist and Sabrina is my hygienist. Both are awesome and they'll be the two I continually see. So far I've had 2 cleanings and I've started my treatment plan which is basically filling cavities that I have. So far everything has been going great. I haven't been in any pain during the procedures and Sabrina does a really great job when doing my cleanings. My teeth feel a lot better now than when I first started. The only thing I wish they could do, is extractions in their office. Normally I was happy with this place, however this time was different. I had a different tech and different doctor. I wasn't informed that over the phone. What really got me was the PPE charge. I'm in healthcare - why didn't you apply for the PPe loan to get some equipment. Oh btw, 35$ for fluoride treatment. I have MetLife dental- which doesn't cover much. I've never been one of those people who hates the dentist, but Sabrina actually makes the visit, dare I say, enjoyable?! She clearly knows what she's doing, she remembers me and my teeth (which is wild to me considering how many patients she sees), and she has great workout/gym recommendations which is an unexpected bonus. Dr. Thomas was lovely, and spent a decent amount of time just chatting with me and answering my strange questions about charcoal toothpaste. I'm not sure where to start this review but can say this is the best place on Earth to have your teeth worked on. I literally twirl through the parking lot into the frost door and don't want to leave. Who says this about dental offices? Me! Why? I will tell you why.. The place is clean, has the vibes of a bonsai tree and is located next door to a bar and ice cream shop! So it wins by default. The staff is totally friendly and attractive. Like Vogue attractive. Vanessa-- she can read minds.. Truth- I submitted my most recent appointment request online and within two minutes, received a call to from her to confirm. My brain said "holy shit! this place is all about service and man did they just collect". BUT she hadn't received the email. Could it be considered coincidence? Sure, but the dental god made that happen. Yep... Dr. V.. He is the mouth handyman. When I originally went to him, he handled my challenging mouth situation in entirety. He didn't provide a lecture about being a total wretch of a tooth landlord but did provide many solutions to deploy for a bright style. Man is legit and a supporter of the local business realm. Laid back as well.. Tooth therapist. And then there is Sabrina.. Sabrina is the real tooth fairy. I never believed in the fairy until I met her in person. She is the kindest, sweetest and "gentlest" mouth mechanic I've ever met. She is genuine and wears black like Johnny Cash. Like Johnny, Sabrina is good at what she does you won't want to leave. I mean so awesome that I'm on Web MD right now trying to come up with some kind of mouth issue just to go back. And if that isn't enough, she provides cool shades to wear while in the chair. I just recently moved to the area and have been on the hunt for a new dental office. It's always nerve racking switching from an office you're already familiar with... but all I can say about this place is - WOW! Booking an appointment was a breeze, all completed very quickly via email. My hygienist Sabrina was incredible! She's hilarious and very friendly. Her work is thorough and she offered me lots of helpful tips for cleaning, and encouraged me to improve where necessary. Being new to the city she also gave me all kinds of great recommendations for restaurants and things to do, etc. which was really appreciated! I had an equally good experience with the dentist Dr. Thomas. She's very personable and really took the time to get to know me before my exam. Ensuring all my questions and concerns were answered was top priority, and there was no rush. I feel if I had significant concerns in the future I would be given all the time I needed. I was really impressed with how they take pictures and x-rays of each of your teeth for an initial assessment. I don't remember the last dental exam I had that was this thorough. I have been coming to District Dental since July and could not be happier with the service I have received. From my dental hygienist, Sabrina, to Dr. V and Dr. Thomas, I have received comprehensive oral care. The entire staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the treatments provided. On my first visit, Dr. V wanted me to begin deep cleaning sessions for periodontal disease. Sabrina was able to schedule my first session that afternoon. During the procedure, Sabrina kept me calm and informed of each step and she ensured I wasn't in pain. On my last visit, I had a temporary crown placed with Dr. Thomas. She is the new dentist at District Dental, but she was phenomenal. Before the procedure, she took time to answer all of my questions and describe the entire procedure to me. She ensured that I remained calm and made sure I didn't experience any pain during the procedure. So to start off I had to replace my previous dentist because his hygienist wasn't the best, i just couldn't allow her to touch me ever again so i went on a search and found this place, thanks to yelp and google reviews. I must say im happy i switched for one their technology is amazing at first i was in my head like omg im going to have a big bill i know their expensive and I WAS WRONG. It doesn't get any better than this. I received a excellent power wash teeth cleaning with minty chocolate lip balm while getting it lol cool right. They have this camera system that takes picture of every single tooth crystal clear and Dr. V comes in evaluates and speaks with you, very cool guy rocking a Astro's shirt! CAN YOU BELIEVE I RECEIVED 2 FILLINGS WITH NO NUMBING MEDICINE! Me either and I'm very sensitive i always cry at the dentist because im in pain. I was scared but it literally did not hurt. This place had to come from so where above this technology doesn't make any sense. The ambiance of this place is amazing and very clean im "germaphobic" hope i spelled it right, so im always looking and everyone's hands were clean "2 thumbs up" Last but not least my favvvvvv Sabrina she was my hygienist, Sabrina has amazing excellent customer service, she builds customer rapport and finds common interest. She was by far the BEST hygienist I've ever had and did such an outstanding job! So I spent a lot of time reading different reviews about District Dental. I have always been pretty terrified of the dentist and I honestly had not been in for a check up in the last couple of years due to a horrible experience through a previous dentist back in my hometown. I moved to Houston not to long ago and after reading about District Dental, I had high hopes with all these fantastic reviews! First of all, I called in informing them I was interested in becoming a new patient. The receptionists Kay and Vanessa were so very kind and after finding out that they accepted my insurance, asked immediately if I could come in that day! Amazing customer service from the get go! I came in and right off the bat, x-rays were preformed on my teeth and a full analysis was given to me in a matter of minutes. The best thing was the screen in front of me showing all my x-rays, pictures of my individual teeth, and an explanation through a number scale on how healthy or unhealthy my teeth were. Now to the best part, my Dental Hygienist KELLY, oh my goodness! Seriously...I can't not tell you HOW MUCH I appreciate her. She is such a loving, caring, and overall just an absolutely amazing human being! She always made sure I was very comfortable and told me to tell her if I was ever even in the slightest amount of pain. Even with a completely numb mouth and drooling all over myself, we shared some great stories and many, many laughs. Her vibe was stellar and she was very attentive and answered any and all questions that I had.
