Typically, it is preferable and really important to support your local animal shelter or dog pound. However, since a pet store was right next to a restaurant we had just had our lunch at, we decided to stop in. The store was well stocked with all kinds of remarkable pet supplies from floor to ceiling but the awesome, adorable puppies in particular caught our eye. One group of dogs were very active while the others were sound asleep. Unfortunately, the prices were astonishing and far exceeded our budget. Been coming here for a couple years now. Everyone there is always super cool and helpful! I buy hornworms for my sister's bearded dragon here and occasionally will get my dog a special treat too! The prices are definitely up there, but I'd say you get what you pay for! read more

Dirty dirty and did I say dirty? This pet store is disgusting. All the dogs look sick or have some type of skin infection. You're paying $1000-2500 for a sick dog. Every animal in this store looks sick or not taken care of. I wouldn't spend a $1 in here. read more

I've been a long time customer and a life time member for quite some time. I was interested in adopting 2 guinew pigs that were dropped off. I was told any animals dropped off were put into inventory abs if I wanted them, I had to pay full price. I purchased one first(close to payday) then went back for the other. I was told he died. The one I bought died 3 weeks later. Also told there was a 1 week warranty. Be wary, pet stores shouldn't sell animals full price that were drop offs. Offer them as adoption fees. read more

Was very disappointed with the way the store was kept. Not clean at all.. seeing 6 dogs locked in one little room playing in their own feces was disgusting. The most aggravating part is they don't allow these dogs outside.. they are locked inside until they are adopted !! Inhumane if you ask me - dogs deserve to be outside even if it's for a little walk. read more

This place is so so overpriced! you can get incredible bully sticks at Ocean State Job Lot for at least half the cost of their's. nice thick light colored American made ones. Also, up front for the last couple of days they've had two tiny Birds in a cage. all they do is hop from perch to perch over and over and over again. there are absolutely zero stimulating toys, mirrors absolutely nothing in the cage for them to amuse themselves with. plus it's cold in there, and I don't know if this type of bird Would enjoy the cold. Surely they could cover at least the back half of their cage to give them some warmth. And really, in a pet store like that you can't see your way clear to Giving them some Enrichment toys in their cage??? read more

NEVER AGAIN! Brought my little guy home to find out he had a double ear infection as well as giardia!! Obviously they are unhealthy and not kept clean. GIARDI is highly contagious. Please be aware. My puppy has been on medication now for a month. read more

As far as pet stores go, it is hard to find a store that has everything you'd want for great prices. You pay for what you get. If you want to find animals from reliable sources and you want the store to be clean and you want the store to have a large selection of items then you're going to pay a premium. All Pet's Club has all of those things, with prices that are slightly higher than what you pay at other chain retailers but less than other more "local" pet shops. I recommend you join their Club for ~$50 a year if you actually buy a lot for your pets, especially those of you with large dogs who eat those enormous bags in an instant. You get a % taken off of everything in the store. They have reptiles, birds, rabbits and other rodents, a huge selection of fish both salt and fresh water and they've got a small assortment of puppies that are fun to visit. They are very transparent about where the puppies come from, so you can be very educated and do some research on the breeder before you make a purchase. The store is always clean and they usually have one of the puppies romping around the store just having fun. Overall, I think the only thing that would tip me to 5 stars would be if I didn't have to pay for the membership upfront and like other stores, they gave me discounts just for signing up. But I think that's part of their "Club" business model. read more

The last two times I've been there standing at the register with multiple employees behind the desk talking to each other as if I'm not even there. Staff is very friendly & knowledgeable. Prices are very good but their fishes are not in the best shape. They are often sick or simply floating around dead (SPECIALLY their bettas). I buy pet supplies from this place but as far as their pets go, they just need better care. read more

Not only are the staff extremely knowledgeable and helpful, the animals ranging from fish, puppies and kittens, birds, and small animals are also all well taken care of. I also appreciate the high quality, premium dog food they carry. I have two puppies from this pet store. Both of which were highly complimented on their first vet visit because of their health and the amount of records the store provided on their care while at the store. I went to the this store in Southington this past week and I purchased some a new pet and the first day I went the ladies were very nice and helpful. I went the next day and the guys in there were nasty with attitudes and didn't wanna help the ladies that worked there which were their co- workers. I will not go back to this store ever because the men that work there are not helpful with no personalities and terrible demeanors!! If the women were there by themselves the store would thrive. The day I came to pick up my new pet the dudes were there and didn't help me with the supplies I needed the poor girl was there and seemed like she didn't wanna ask the men for help. The guys didn't give me any info about my new pet just short yes and no answers terrible. If I didn't love my new pet so much I would have left it right there and walked out because I was so disgusted by the terrible service I received! Never again and I do not recommend!! read more

the store isn't the cleanest. I got my bunny here before i really knew anything about rabbits. i'm disgusted by the size of the space they have to move around in, and there were three in one enclosure together. they need space to hop around and also need lots of hay - which was also lacking. I asked if the rabbits were male or female and was told "we usually only get boys in" so i thought it was a boy. went to the vet today and it's a girl. i don't care that she's a girl, but housing three in an enclosure not knowing the gender is just going to lead to more babies. Take the extra step and know what you're getting into the store. I love my rabbit and wouldn't trade her for the world, but i will never go back. read more

Thought I'd give them a try and checked out their fish department - which was huge - but I purchased 2 fish and now all my fish have ich :( I've never had this problem with any other petstore. They're also much more expensive than all the other petstores in the area. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Petco is a mile or less away. And they don't ship tiny puppies around from store to store like all pets club does (some of the puppies didn't even have water during my visit). read more

I go to this pet store to purchase basic fish tank supplies. When I look at their tanks and want to purchase fish it will often take 10-15 minutes to have someone help you. Often I give up and leave. They need someone to just work in the tank area. read more

We brought our Guinea pigs here to have their nails clipped. We asked to watch the man clip their nails 1) because they have been clipped too short in the past and 2) we wanted to see how calm the Guinea pigs were to see whether or not we might be able to clip them ourselves at home. The man refused to let us watch. Our Guinea pigs came back with bleeding nails that had been clipped too short and one had a smear of blood on his cheek. There were crickets hopping around on the ground and overall, the staff are unfriendly and not too knowledgeable about animal care. I would not recommend this pet store to anyone. read more

My husband and I are in the Wallingford store at least once a week if not more and we have never had a bad experience in getting help or information . We buy salt water and reef fish,food and corals good selection and workers are very helpful when we need to know if fish are compatible or reef safe . Very clean store ! read more

On Thursday on 6/16 at around 4pm myself an my gf bought a large goldfish to add to our 60 gallon tank with 2 other large goldfish that we owned prior. We treated the water as we had in the past whenever adding a new fish and on Saturday morning we noticed that he was having balance issues and was starting to float towards the top. Sunday morning we woke up to find him dead. We contacted all pets club and they informed us that unless you are a rewards member you only have a 24 hour warranty on fresh water fish. Wtf is that? Fresh water fish are extremely resilient and hard to kill (especially goldfish). The worst part about it, is the rep at the southington location was a total dick on the phone and said we probably killed it with poor water quality. There isn't anything that can kill a gold fish within 48 hours that won't kill every other fish in the tank. I've read bad reviews about this place before ranging with anything from extremely sick puppies to poor customer service. Who would have known you can't even trust this place to buy a goldfish! read more
