They performed a courtesy inspection and showed me what needed work on the vehicle. So, after purchasing an OBD module and using it to get the engine codes myself I have determined that one of the VCT solenoids is bad. These "quality mechanics" couldn't find that after $1500 and several days of having my vehicle. Do not trust these shysters. They think their certifications mean they don't need to listen to their customers. This shop owes me $1500. read more

All Phase Auto Repair was awesome. I called and was able to start the paperwork for my car, which I dropped off at night. Their form was easy to fill out and I felt that their drop was secure. The next morning, I received a call with all the work that needed to be completed on my car. I knew I had a lot to take care of because when I drove, my steering wheel would vibrate. It was also becoming increasingly harder to get out of parallel parking spots. Terry confirmed my suspicions - I needed quite a few things completed to get this fixed. In addition, I was up for my 100k service and should also look to have my fluids flushed. This can be done at any shop, but what puts All Phase Auto above the rest is the patience and clear communication provided. Terry clearly let me know everything that needed to be completed and then also broke it down in to what were the priority/safety repairs that needed to be completed. She let me call her back twice as I got a second opinion on what should be repaired. Terry also emailed me each estimate separately so I could see which parts were being ordered and the labor break down. There was no pressure to complete any repairs that were not a priority, which felt great. The team provided constant communication to set expectations for when my car would be completed. Terry gave me an update at the end of the day and then I received a call the next morning that my car was ready for pick up. Everyone was fantastic and I feel like I have a brand new car - it's driving much better than it was before. I know if I run in to any issues in the future, All Phase will honor their 2 year/24k mile warranty on the parts purchased as well. Honest, skilled and friendly - who could ask for more? When your car gets towed to a repair shop away from home, you naturally wonder if the shop is going to lick their chops and consume your bank account. Fortunately, I got towed to All Phase Auto Repair in Essex, MD. I left my car at 3 in the morning on a Friday (long story) and the next morning, the owner called me to make sure they understood my written notes and get permission to diagnose the problem. He called back later that day to tell me my catalytic converter had died and would need to be replaced, and they might need to do another batch of work to prevent the engine from fouling the new one. I took my time deciding; the car has 190K on it, and it was almost a tossup whether to fix it or not. They were very patient and when I finally made up my mind, they did the work very quickly. At the end, they called to tell me that the converter had simply died of old age, and the other work would not be needed, saving me nearly $400. I got the car back freshly cleaned and running like a top. I was very impressed with their friendly attitude, excellent service and accuracy, and their patience with a customer on the fence. While I have a local mechanic I am very happy with, and I can't imagine needing to drive my car 45 minutes to get it repaired, I must highly recommend All Phase to anyone in the greater Essex/Middle River Metropolitan Area for any car repair needs. read more

I was hoping, there was something less then 1 star for the rating. I don't write reviews on regular basis but after I got the work done on my car at All Phase Auto, I decided to do so. Why? because I don't want other folks to get ripped off. Taking my car to All Phase Auto was a big mistake. I had my car's water pump replaced from these folks. Apparently, they did not install it correctly which caused the water pump to fail and the alternator to mess up as well. (Have verified with 2 mechanics and have seen the damage my self). I was not able to take it back to them and even if I could, I would not want to take my car back to these people. I fixed my car else where but kept the old water pump so I can atleast get a refund on the bad water pump. According to them, the water pump is new and has warranty. Well they won't take the water pump back. So I am not sure if it was a used or new because if a part is under warranty, it should be accepted for return. Bottom line is that I would not recommend these folks. They say we are AAA approved mechanics etc. Here is the deal, if you don't do the job right, you can be "ANYTHING" certified, it really does not matter. They will just waste your time and money. read more

I wish Yelp would allow for 0 stars. I was in a bind and took recommendation of AAA to have my car towed to All Phase Auto in Essex after I messed with it and couldn't start it. I give them kudos for getting it to start but they came back and said not only did I need what I knew I needed (a fusebox) but I would need an entire new wire harness for my car that would require many hours of labor because of 1 connector. I agree, GM does not sell the connector only. They estimated me $2200. I agree, A PART of the connector came off BUT not entire connector was broke. Also, part that was off is not needed and I had the piece that came off in my car in plain sight by the shifter. It took me all of 10 mins to fix the connector (which didn't have to be done because that part really isn't needed) then 15 more mins to then install the part that was bad from beginning. I saved $1900 plus tax. They were NOT honest with me. They could have fixed the connector as I have now done and even charged me $100 then $500 for the part (costs them $302) I needed to install and still make an easy $360 (including the $60 diagnostic) and I would have gladly paid it and given them 5 starts AND earn a new customer because GOD knows GM cars with 100K+ miles start to nickel and dime you to death. My next call is to AAA and complain to them about their AAA approved shop. I cannot wait to hear they rebuttal as they have to every other negative review which I should have read before agreeing with AAA to tow to them. read more

I went to this shop twice and wish I never had. The first time I had a feeling that I was overcharged. This last time I wanted to get an alignment done. They completed the job but my car became shaky a little while after. I brought my car to a different auto shop (which is my new go to) they told me a bolt needed to be replaced since it was broken off. Thanks All phase break my bolts, hide it, try to charge for extras and taking advantage of customers. You have been warned DO NOT GO HERE!! read more

Have a 3500 Chevy that failed emission, They said they could do Diag. and tell me why since they are a certified emission repair facility. Charged me 174.00 and gave me a list of POSSIBLE things it MIGHT be. THAT IS NOT A DIAGNOSIS. THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT THE FLYER FROM STATE SAID. Wanted 690.00 to replace cap, rotor and wires. Price of parts online 120.00. 1hr labor. That is about 570.00 per hr. labor. Had the job done for 200.00 at another shop. They got me for 174.00. and tried for another 600.00. Thankfully I was not as naive as they thought! read more

I was having over heating issues with my car so I chose A.P. Auto repair because it was super close and I knew it was a family owned business so maybe they wouldn't charge an arm and a leg like the Mr. Tires or dealerships out there. I got the Diagnostic done and got a quote for $1,900 to fix my over heating issue and they recommended a ton of other things that i already knew needed to be done. My check engine light was on and they would not touch that unless I paid an additional $120 Diagnostic on top of the $60 Diagnostic they already did. (Which wasn't 100% accurate.) I called another family owned shop that i have done work for in the past and for the same exact work quote $900. Luckily my insurance covered towing so I took it to the cheaper shop. The shop did all the work that All Phase recommended and my car was still having heating issues. Turns out, All Phase never actually found out what was causing the overheating but suggested fixing the head gasket because it was leaking....It was leaking because my cooling fans had never engaged to cool down the engine. I truly don't know if my head gasket really was the problem because I had shop #2 just fix what all phase recommended without further diagnostic. I spent a ton less money and got more done from another family owned business. (National Budget Muffler on Tolgate rd in Bel Air.) After the crazy diagnostic charges and not having a 100% accurate diagnostic on top of dealership pricing....Yeah they definitely need a bigger tv to charge that much. I would advise going to a Dealership or a corporate franchise since your going to pay corporate pricing at this place... read more
