Derek was outstanding - professional, patient, thorough. He immediately diagnosed the problem (my own incompetence, frankly), fixed it, installed the Nest quickly and efficiently, then made sure everything was working properly before he left. He also didn't try to just sell us a new A/C system; we will probably need to do so sometime in the next few years, but he was clearly just interested in solving the problem rather than hard-selling us. We had a mini-split in our previous house, and were very impressed with it's efficiency. The electric bills were not excessive, and it kept our house really warm. After getting several bids, we selected Lamphear Service Company (from the Grand Rapids area) to install it. Their price was amazing! We had to wait a few months until they had it in stock again (the unit is now made by Mitsubishi/ Trane) since it was so popular. Lamphere consistently exceeded our expectations. EVERY employee from there was incredibly nice, and a pleasure to deal with. The company was honest, thorough, and experienced at installing these mini-splits.
