I also wanted to do some pieces of the projects myself to save some money. They worked around my schedule, and we were able to do everything we wanted. We asked to have regular meetings to connect about plans and progress and to go over any work. Whenever there was something we wanted fixed, they were quick to take action and made things right. They were also always happy to take a call or answer a text, and they kept us in the loop every step of the way. Because I'm used to doing it all myself, and they were usually working while I was away, this really helped me to feel a part of what was going on! Not only was the quote we received from Strong Builders VERY competitive, they stayed on budget! Any increases were due to choices we made along the way and were always talked about in advance. We knew just what to expect and there were no surprises at the end. The whole team was friendly and polite. My wife always felt safe at home while they were there, and I appreciated what a clean job site they kept. I was also impressed with some of their creative solutions to challenges in the project. We highly recommend requesting George for any tile project you might have. He worked with precision and always checked to make sure we were satisfied. We were annoyingly particular and he happily met our OCD-like expectations! Donado (sp?) was their jack-of-all-trades and around all the time. The appointment was for Friday she canceled on Wednesday so when someone showed up to my door I didn't know who it was, or if it was someone involved with the online thraets I knew the meeting was canceled so asked them nicely to leave. The did not, I ask less nice, they do not leave, then I yell at them to leave and shut the door. Through the peep hole I can see him smile then start making a phone call creeping closer to the door I see him get close and open the door and yell for him to leave and he gets in my face refusing so I push him away. It knocks him down to the floor he stands up enraged and starts ripping at my arm dislocating my shoulder from all his rage. I think this person is going to unalive me I tell them they dislocated my arm and they smile, get close to me, and say they can do so much more to me. With a dislocated arm I was ready to defend my life and property. People are starting to hear and notice and he takes his stuff and leaves. I go to the hospital and he yells at my mom that I pushed him doesn't seem at all concerned that my shoulder was in bad shape and the owner too. Turns out the owner wanted to have a 3-4 day long birthday party and never even told this person the meeting was canceled this is the owners fault. Had the owner any respect for her clients, employees, or business this would not have happened the moment I shut the door and asked him to leave that was the appropriate time to leave. If someone is asking you to leave and you don't have business there the professional thing to do is leave. But him just refusing to leave then dislocating my shoulder because he got in my face about asking him to leave, well thank god there is a legal system that will hold scum like this accountable for the injury caused by this business owners negligence. I'm going to make sure this business owner pays for this. Were I in her shoes if one of my staff dislocated a clients shoulder because they wouldn't leave I'd go to the ER and bring flowers and apologize this person should have just taken her job seriously. We canceled Wednesday and we're going to call in a week or two, but because of your negligence you really think I'd want to work with someone who dislocated my shoulder? No. This was so bad and it's all because you cared more about celebrating your birthday for multiple days than letting your employee know it was canceled you are just worst type of person, lazy and negligent I would not expect your craft to be anything but lazy and negligent based on this interaction. My sincere advice, just apologize and retire. This was a big mess up on your part. Think of it this way, if I showed up to your house and refused to leave you would shoot me or call the police. And you would be within your legal right to either shoot me dead or have me locked up for trespassing. Your employee should be in jail for what he did.

After a bad experience with a previous contractor where a 1-month bathroom remodel turned into a half-year remodel, I expected it would take Armando and his team at least 1 month. I was incorrect and blown away by their ability to stick to the schedule extremely well. We received a quote up front and the contractor stuck to it. Each day, the workers showed up on time and cleaned up any mess each afterwards. Armando takes pride in his work and wants his customers to be able to show off a finely remodeled "piece of art" when he is complete. His attention to detail is unparalleled regarding the workmanship of the tile, the functionality of the remodel, and anything the customer can think of in between. A skilled and honest contractor can be hard to find, but this excellent experience was a burden off of my chest and was worth writing this review to share to others. The pictures attached show the progress of the bathroom at the end of each day. Some days have progress on plumbing or dry rot that isn't as visible, but over a 2 week span, it is important and incredible to show how smooth a remodel can and should go.

Coordinator Jay was a gem. She worked to keep everything going on time. The team worked efficiently to get the work done. Now the Bad: I did not know I had to buy everything from windows to doors to sinks to vanities. That is at least 10% of the contract value. Finally the Ugly: I did not know I have to find separate contractors for awnings, solar panels and the driveway. I think that is too much for a person who is not working in the construction business to negotiate all those subcontracts.

Tom is the owner of Shenon Construction, and as first time homeowners with a master bedroom addition being our first construction project, we approached Tom both cautiously and slowly. We first talked 8 years ago and Tom was so incredibly patient, answering all our questions and going round after round with meetings. He led us through HVAC and window considerations before we even committed to the project. He subsequently drafted a thoughtful and detailed plan, connecting us with his designer to get things started. Enter COVID and our infamously slow city planning department. It took almost five years just to get our permit approval. Tom kept advising us throughout and his recommended designer diligently re-submitted plan after plan. Tom never showed an ounce of impatience and after five years, a project needs to be re-bid. Impressively, Tom encouraged us to price compare contractors once again. We knew Tom so well at this point and he still carefully re-walked us through every step of the process and cost. Once again, no one came close to Tom and Shenon in their ability to earn our trust. When we finally kicked things off at the end of July, we were introduced to our project manager, Adam. Hands down the most detail-oriented, organized, and responsible person we've ever met, Adam was at our house almost every day. Memorably, he echoed Tom in saying every tiny detail or concern goes through them. From then on, we saw every worker arrive on time doing incredible work. We discussed endlessly the closet sizes, number of light fixtures, which windows pass code, who does lead remediation, replacing the basement access, where to fit a sun tunnel, what height to make our deck, yes or no to gutters, color choice after color choice, and on and on. Adam smiled throughout, had answers to every question, and always replied with a 'just let me know'! Everything was built to meet Tom and Adam's high standards. We received to-do lists weekly, a spread out payment schedule, and met with scores of expert sub-contractors. Tom and Adam did all this while juggling around our living in the home, limiting dust and noise, and being ever mindful of our cat. Adam went above-and-beyond here, as well, responding to our group text chats anytime day or night and was excellent handling our day-to-day needs while sending the big project questions to Tom. We ultimately became friendly with these guys and can't imagine any homeowner not feeling the same. It was amazing to see our room go from foundation to framing to finishing--everything happened so quickly! In fact, the whole project took about five months, wrapping up with the final inspection an entire month ahead of schedule. We now have a wood-floor master bedroom with a large picture window, an subway-tiled master bathroom with wet room shower/bath combo, a much needed walk-in-closet, and a lovely wood deck patio with a pergola. We absolutely love our new space, and we couldn't be more thankful to Shenon. We've heard from friends and neighbors about construction nightmares, littered with no shows, hard to reach GCs, shoddy workmanship, and unfulfilled follow-ups. Shenon construction is the complete opposite. Tom keeps every promise and provides options for aesthetics and saving money, but never compromises on quality. Adam's care and hard work makes the project smooth and keeps the excitement of building fun and alive. They're just awesome, and we can't recommend them enough. Wrapping up our project, we were told that as the house settles, the grout will crack and caulk will separate and to call as we notice these things. Tom answered our follow-up call over a year later without missing a beat. He sent his glass guy and grout guy for 2 separate checks and fixes and did all that without cost to us. Beautiful touch ups and we continue to love and use our master bedroom/bathroom addition as much as the day it was completed. Thanks Tom!
