My mom set up an appointment with this company but I've been getting nasty threats from people online about harming me and just needed time to process and heal. The appointment was for Friday she canceled on Wednesday so when someone showed up to my door I didn't know who it was, or if it was someone involved with the online thraets I knew the meeting was canceled so asked them nicely to leave. The did not, I ask less nice, they do not leave, then I yell at them to leave and shut the door. Through the peep hole I can see him smile then start making a phone call creeping closer to the door I see him get close and open the door and yell for him to leave and he gets in my face refusing so I push him away. It knocks him down to the floor he stands up enraged and starts ripping at my arm dislocating my shoulder from all his rage. I think this person is going to unalive me I tell them they dislocated my arm and they smile, get close to me, and say they can do so much more to me. With a dislocated arm I was ready to defend my life and property. People are starting to hear and notice and he takes his stuff and leaves. I go to the hospital and he yells at my mom that I pushed him doesn't seem at all concerned that my shoulder was in bad shape and the owner too. Turns out the owner wanted to have a 3-4 day long birthday party and never even told this person the meeting was canceled this is the owners fault. Had the owner any respect for her clients, employees, or business this would not have happened the moment I shut the door and asked him to leave that was the appropriate time to leave. If someone is asking you to leave and you don't have business there the professional thing to do is leave. But him just refusing to leave then dislocating my shoulder because he got in my face about asking him to leave, well thank god there is a legal system that will hold scum like this accountable for the injury caused by this business owners negligence. I'm going to make sure this business owner pays for this. Were I in her shoes if one of my staff dislocated a clients shoulder because they wouldn't leave I'd go to the ER and bring flowers and apologize this person should have just taken her job seriously. We canceled Wednesday and we're going to call in a week or two, but because of your negligence you really think I'd want to work with someone who dislocated my shoulder? No. This was so bad and it's all because you cared more about celebrating your birthday for multiple days than letting your employee know it was canceled you are just worst type of person, lazy and negligent I would not expect your craft to be anything but lazy and negligent based on this interaction. My sincere advice, just apologize and retire. This was a big mess up on your part. Think of it this way, if I showed up to your house and refused to leave you would shoot me or call the police. And you would be within your legal right to either shoot me dead or have me locked up for trespassing. Your employee should be in jail for what he did. read more

Coastal gets five stars from us mainly because they followed through on every issue that did come up, resolving, modifying, and making good on pleasing us. We got a great new remodeled bathroom, original to our 1946 home. It's a beautiful modern bathroom. Thanks to George (Owner) who always listened to my needs, texts, phone calls even when I might have been considered a nuisance to some. Thanks to all the workers who were in our home, for being courteous, respectful and professional. Thanks to Diana who delivered on a couple of occasions items needed, for handling some of my calls and for being upbeat, kind and professional. Coastal will be updating our master bathroom at the beginning of next year and we look forward to another great project under our belt. I've definitely given 5 stars, well deserved, that being said, my only suggestion would be to have all their workers who manage different aspects of a project to check in with one another, communicate better so that no kinks arise causing complications in the next phase. This is probably the toughest review I have written and I'm between a 3 and a 4. First I will list the pros: On time meeting to discuss project, great bid (lower than 2 others) employees nice and friendly. I was given a couple of places to go and select, bathroom tile, vinyl flooring, bathroom cabinet and top, Both places had lots to choose from and I had the costs in mind. I purchased all the fixtures, including mirror and medicine cabinet and all were installed.Had to go thru an HOA for approval and this was time consuming. So project got delayed and with COVID even more. I was not in a hurry, so it was not a problem. Loved the flooring made the whole place look bigger. New base boards were installed and they are fantastic. The bathroom looks great, low tub as requested I got a niche in the shower and the cabinet is beautiful and has soft closing drawers. What I did not like emailed and expressed to the owner the owner, the counter top on the cabinet was supposed to match the tile. Tile is white and grey and counter cream and grey. The shower head is not centered it is off to the right. Two grab bars were requested and one was installed correctly, the other should have been on the left but was installed on the right. There were other minor issues that did get resolved. I documented all of this and talked to the owner, but nothing never came of this. He never offered to fix or come to an agreement about who o pays fo what, so I was disappointed. If this was my main residence I would have insisted on it being torn out and done correctly. Plus I recommended to a couple of family members for work they needed done. One so far has hired Coastal. read more

Just had our final inspection for two bathrooms remodeled plus hall cabinetsinstalled. From start to finish, George, Dennis and the entire Coastal team has made this process effortless. Dennis was great with estimating the work, then walking us through the tile and countertop picking process. Once work commenced, there was not a lots of downtime. It took 18 days to do 2 bathrooms, a window, hall cabinets, new closet pole/shelf, new baseboards and popcorn removal and all finish work. All workers polite and communication was great. George was readily available in person and phone. All questions and issues handled in a timely manner. I really can't boast enough with how wonderful Coastal is. We went with them on a lark from going to home show at OC Fair. So glad we stopped to talk to Diana. They felt like family. Posting pics of wonderful job. Coastal remodeled our bathroom taking it from a tub only to a tub and separate shower configuration while keeping out two sinks. It looks great. Two key points 1. The owner took personal responsibility for supervising the job 2. There were no starts and stops, once the job began, they stayed with it until it was complete. I truly feel as though Coastal Kitchen and Bath became part of my family during this whole process! We had gotten a couple quotes for a kitchen/bath remodel but didn't feel comfortable with any of them. Then as fate had it, we walked by Coastal's booth at a community event and set an appointment up. Thank goodness we did, Dennis showed up at our house and spent so much time with us, listening to our needs and making suggestions. At the end of the appointment we had the quote for everything....Labor and materials! He made us so comfortable that we couldn't sign fast enough. Then we met Dennis to pick out our cabinets, countertops, etc. He offered invaluable help to us during that process and even became the swing vote when my husband and I disagreed. Then we met George, the owner of the company. It was at that moment, I knew that we had put our trust in the right man. He was so amazing to work with. Made me laugh all the time and I hope that we will remain friends. Now onto the workers, these are an amazing group of men. They braved rain, cold weather AND the corona-virus to come finish our remodel within 3 weeks. They all were so talented, kind and knowledgeable. George has definitely assembled an amazing group of sub contractors. So our remodel is finished now and I have not one negative thing to say about the entire process, which is not the norm, I hear when it comes to remodeling! I have a lot to say about my experience with Coastal Kitchen & Bath (CKB). The only reason they even get 2 stars is the finished product looks very nice, but that's as far as I go. We hired them to build 2 units for us: hutch-style cabinets on one wall and an entertainment center below our wall-mounted television. * workers never worked more than 6 hours on any given day. And there were several days when no one showed up and we weren't proactively given any explanation. *They misrepresented of what we were getting - we were told they were custom cabinets (found out later they weren't), told they were solid wood cabinets (they're basically laminated plywood). *several pieces that were originally installed were not what we asked for - the glass panes on some of the cabinets had crossbeams in them (not what we wanted), and the entertainment center cabinets were not symmetrical. Instead of replacing the cabinet doors with glass ones, they removed the crossbeams and stained the miscolored wood. *workers were on camera in our home (with audio), but we regularly heard them bitching about the project in our home, saying we made several changes (we didn't) and we were undercharged for the job. *a couple of days where no work was done and no explanation was offered proactively. *drywall person missed a spot when doing patch work and had to come back a 2nd time. *no paint was done and several edges were left unfinished. *we asked for glass shelves in the hutch cabinets so the overhead lights would shine through, and they installed wood shelves. When we asked the owner why we didn't get glass shelves, he said his company doesn't do glass shelves, so we had to buy our own. * we asked for under cabinet lighting (it was in the contract) and didn't get it. We didn't push for it because we were so annoyed at all of the other issues that we just wanted the project done. *they knocked off an alarm sensor in our garage and accidentally threw it out, so we had to buy a new sensor. * communication challenges with the owner - he wouldn't respond to texts and was difficult to reach via phone. * we asked for DVD storage for our 600+ DVD collection, were told we were getting it. When the units were installed, we found only 1/2 the space was usable for DVDs. There's a lot of dead space that could have been used for better DVD storage, and we showed them examples of what we wanted. What we got was basically pull out shelves. *they used a bizarre size for the shelf peg holes - we wanted to change the shelf pegs since we put in our own glass shelves and the ones they used weren't really suited for glass shelves, and found the holes they used for the shelf pegs are much bigger than the standard 5mm or 1/4", making it impossible to find replacements. I contacted the owner for suggestions on where to find alternate shelf pegs in that size, and did not receive a response. *Workers didn't thoroughly clean up after themselves. They left dust and debris inside the cabinets and drawers, didn't fully clean up inside the garage, and were storing trash in our backyard for several weeks. All things said, the projects LOOK nice, but there are a lot of flaws with it. I cannot recommend this company. Learnings: ask for detailed drawings so you're on the same page with your contractor and insist on seeing all products before anything is installed. read more

This comes even knowing that it is impossible to please everyone. Therefore, when it came time to choose whom I wanted to work with, it was George. The designer Dennis was so helpful in the shopping process. I didn't know up front what I wanted and Dennis showed me so many variables while at the same time making the process so easy. Diana, who set the appointment for me was so friendly. She kept in constant contact letting me know what would happen next. Jorge and Eddie, two of the installers, were fantastic. I was not only impressed by the excellent workmanship and attention to detail, but by what a great job everyone did when cleaning up for the day and not leaving a mess behind. Coastal remodeled my upstairs master shower and my shower tub guest bathroom. They were the fairest price I got out of three. When I go into either bathroom I am so happy I did this project. It is beautiful. I am so happy with the outcome of the Job. I met with George and he was friendly and very helpful in my decisions on material. George is very easy to work with. I did get delayed because of cov19. But once the job was started the workers and they were great workers started early which I wanted and left same time everyday and came six days a week until job was done. Also they were very respectful of my property and laid down protection for my halls, steps, and flooring every day they cleaned up the mess of course u will have dust but they tried to keep it to a minimal. Also Georges tile guy is the best I have seen he is proud of his work and it shows.. If I ever need addl work I will call George and crew. I got recommended to coastal thru my son who had them do his entire second floor. U cannot go wrong with this company and they are worth the wait and if anything get several quotes and u will see COASTAL will come out on top. George is now a friend and his entire staff are great. They are full of promises, but the results are not there. Maybe I should have worked with Dennis, like Vicki M., because I had the worst experience with my designer. She has plenty of excuses and blame for everyone else, but she takes no responsibility for any of her mistakes. My remodel has been ongoing for one month with no end in sight. Kitchen measured incorrectly, so some cabinets did not fit. Still waiting on the new ones to come. Contract does not match 3D drawing, so wrong sink ordered and now countertop template delayed, probably for weeks since it looks like that cabinet might need to be reordered too. Started working with one of the owners hoping things would improve, and I am finally seeing progress. My experience is very much like Lizzie H.'s unfortunately. I hope I can update in a few weeks that everything is resolved, but the length of time this is taking will never get better. read more
