We got 3 estimates, then a friend at church recommended Joe at Dane County Chimney and Masonry who recently rebuilt her chimney. Joe came right out and was very informative, not only of our chimney situation but of gas inserts too. He offered several options of varying costs. We opted to have him remove the chimney and install gas vent piping instead of a full rebuild, plus we chose an insert that was attractive but wouldn't break the bank.
