What I've really loved is the appropriate level of discipline and self control they are asserting on the kids. I love the 'yes sir, no sir', and they know my kid well enough now to know when she's faking a potty break and when it's really an issue. They never let the kiddos accept anything other than their best shot. They do especially well with new kids and usually assign one teacher to a new kid -- there can be a lot of tears as for some little guys, this is their first activity out of the safety of their home. It does seem pricey to me at $130/month (the pricing can be lower if you lock into a time commitment -- we go month to month) but you can attend as many classes as you would like at this price. So you can really make it worth your money. And if karate is something your child wants to commit to, it's a total bargain.

I was devastated but my friends told me Legendary is an awesome place and to try it out. I am so glad I took their advice because from the very beginning they have worked with my daughter and challenged her (in good ways). I have seen my daughter's confidence grow and she loves all of the instructors. I love that they not only teach karate expect the kids to be respectful and that the preach team work. Those are exactly what I was looking for when we decided to try another karate studio. We have also enjoyed the bully prevention workshops (which my daughter uses in school now) and other activities that they host on a regular basis. I also like that my daughter can attend multiple times a week and it gives her a positive environment to grow and thrive in. They also have adult karate (which I often consider but haven't made the jump yet), but if you are looking for a karate home - you should definitely give Legendary a try.

They do forms, weapons, board breaking, self-defense, sparring and leadership. We didn't compete but I have friends who do and say it's a ton of fun. It can get pricey. That's the only draw back. They offer classes for preschool to adults.

As a former Shotokan karate practitioner and current obsessed BJJ fella, I couldn't wait until my…read moredaughter was old enough to join a martial arts school. While I was out of town for a conference one week, my wife enrolled our daughter in Sensei Williamson's school. I lost my little mind. I literally threw a tantrum. A grown man, throwing a tantrum. "How dare you enroll our daughter in a school that I haven't vetted! I'M THE MARTIAL ARTS GUY IN THIS FAMILY! BAAAHHHHH!!" Upon returning from my trip, I immediately went to visit the Starworld dojo. I was blown away by the school. I love the black belt staff, the way they interact with the kiddos, the way the school intertwines old-school culture with new-school flair... all of it. Sensei Williamson has run many schools in the past, and his current school shows the evolution of a long-time master that truly cares for his art. I think back to my experiences in a strict dojo. I think of the work vs. play aspect of things. I think of the senpai we had (the one sepnai we had). I think of the way I felt before, during, and after classes. Then I watch my child interact with the multiple well trained, good humored, respectful black belts who help with every class. I couldn't ask for more. I can go on forever, but I'll digress. tl;dr - Whether you're an old-school karate buff or a parent with no experience who simply wants your child to experience something new, this school is a great fit.

My son has learned a lot from Starworld and the instructors. He really enjoys karate!read more
