We hired All Star to load our Pod with the heavy stuff we couldn't move ourselves. Eric, Aaron, and Greg arrived 10 minutes early and finished the job in just under 2 hours! They loaded the pod in such a way that they got much more inside it than we had planned! We ended up with having much less stuff that we had to transport to storage ourselves!! Hoping to request this same crew when it's time to schedule the return and unloading of the pod. Excellent service! read more

I'm very conflicted on how to write this review. Part of me wants to give them 1 star, part of me wants to give them 5. 5 Star - The four man crew did a fantastic job moving my house. They were polite and professional. Took care of my belongings and no furniture was damaged. All done in a timely manner with competitive rates. Prior to booking, they'll come out and assess what need to be moved so they can give you a more concrete quote. 1 Star - They called late Friday afternoon to confirm my Saturday move and said they'd arrive at 8AM with a phone call about 30 minutes prior to arriving. Saturday morning - they never called and they didn't show up at 8AM. They didn't show up at 9AM either. After I had called and left two messages asking where my crew was, I finally got a call back saying they'd arrive in 45 minutes. Well at 10 AM, I got yet another call from the company and they flat out cancelled on me. I didn't realize moving companies could just do that. They offered to come the next day for a discounted rate. Luckily, I had that option...but what if I didn't? I was counting on them and clearly they didn't deliver the day they said they would. The next day, they arrived exactly when they said they would. They also need to have a better system for answering phones (vs having to leaving a message on a machine), especially on the weekends when I'm sure a fair amount of people are moving. read more

I contacted All Star in regards to an upcoming move. They gave me my quote, then I called to confirm the quote. They wanted to check to make sure it was accurate and would call me back. They left me a voicemail saying the quote was accurate and to call them back to book. I called back and no one answered, so I left a voicemail saying I'd like to book it. No reply. I called again and left another message saying the same thing. They then returned my call the next day and said they were booked for that day already. Had they have answered/returned any of my calls they would have been able to book my move for that day before someone else's. I had to move from an apartment in the Central West End to a house in Maryland Heights. They showed up early and called when they were on their way and when they arrived. We have used All Star Moving, LLC twice and we are now using their services for the our 3rd move. I have always communicated with the owner who has always been professional and friendly. He always makes sure any questions regarding the move that we have are answered to ensure that all of our moving needs are met. The movers are always professional and friendly. They arrive on time and began working immediately. I have some large pieces of furniture. I was concerned about these pieces getting damaged when being moved. The movers take care to make sure all the furniture is wrapped and protected and are always careful when loading and unloading onto the trucks and into my new place. I love that the movers really know what they are doing and don't waste any time sitting around. They work from the time they arrive until the job is completely done! I have used these guys twice - once to move me to Chicago, and once to move me back several years later. They have also handled delivery of a single piece of furniture I purchased. They are everything you want/ need in movers, and very reasonably priced. I hope they do not go out of business ever, but they better not before I am finished moving around town or I will cry. For the cross-state moves: one time they picked my stuff up the night before, then drove out to Chicago the next morning with it. The other, they drove to Chicago, packed my stuff, and unpacked it in St. Louis. They are the most careful, polite, friendly, organized, pleasant movers I have ever worked with (and I moved 5 times within Chicago between these two - so I'd know). Both moves, they arrived bang on time, and with the second move, we only had the elevator for two hours (for two peoples' stuff, 40 floors up) and the management was really intense about that time window...and they managed to do it. I am a habitual consumer of Yelp reviews and, sadly, never a writer. However, my move with All Star Moving yesterday has moved me to write a review. They were awesome! Moving is never easy, but when you have a company as service focused as All Star, it makes it so much better. My experience was "all star" from start to finish. I scheduled my move with Kathy and she was efficient and helpful in her review of my move and discussion of the pricing structure. I called five days before my move and had to reschedule it due to a delay in the completion of the house. Kathy handled it with ease. Next, the move and this is where the All Star team shines. I had a truck with three movers. The lead mover, Colton, called me when they were on their way. They arrived exactly on time, the truck was extremely clean and the guys all wore All Star t-shirts. They jumped in right away. They kept me posted throughout the move as to their progress. They took the shortest of breaks (seriously, who considers a five minute break a break? they do!). I could go on and on, but suffice to say, my move with Colton at the lead, Brandon and JR was fantastic. They even kept me updated on the Blues score as I had no TV, internet, radio at the new house. The plan to move me was clear, price was great (and did not change the day of the move!), they were on time, friendly, uniformed, and thoughtful: put furniture back together, double checked on room location of furniture and boxes. They were overall very efficient and reliable during my move from Saint Louis to Michigan. They gave me a quote ahead of time via phone after I described the size of my apt and the items that I would be moving. They gave me a quote and said that it would be a fixed price unless there were unexpected items that I did not mention beforehand. I was concerned about hidden fees later on (since I was told to be wary of scams by moving companies in general), but they kept to their word--no hidden fees, price as agreed upon prior to the move. I removed one star as they were 30 minutes late and since it was a morning move, the office was not yet open to answer my phone calls to ask about where the movers were. Four movers showed up and ended up packing and loading all of my stuff within 1 hour!! Very efficient and fast... Two out of the four movers drove the truck on my long distance move the same day and unloaded everything, again, very quickly. I hired this company for moving across state lines , awful experience , the owner is a cheap liar and unprofessional , un assembled our baby's crib and destroyed it , the crew chief created litter in baby's room making all sorts of movement /walking extremely hazardous, upon confronting he threatened us and was belligerent there fore i had to kick him out of our house , i gave them a very generous tip during the first half of move and now i regret , they are extremely unprofessional esp the owner who brags about being a multi millionaire all the time , he is rude and unprofessional , they then tossed the head board outside our house and left , thru out the move these guys kept contradicting each other and had no cohesive strategy awful company and will not recommend this to any one read more

Locally owned and operated in Kirkwood, MO, All-Star moving is the best moving company I have ever worked with. Not only did All-Star movers save us thousands in our move from St Louis to Denver, we were also able to receive all of our items the day after we moved! None of our belongings had to be held in storage, which none of the other moving companies I contacted could do. The owner Matt himself came out to our apartment in Clayton and gave us an estimate that day of how much it would cost to move. He was very professional and because he owns the company, he really cares a great deal about how your items are handled and how quickly you can move. This is the first move where nothing in our move was broken. I feel really lucky to have found All-Star moving, and have nothing but great things to say about our experience with them. They also packed our entire house the day before moving day, and their prices were very competitive for packing as well. I loved that the boxes were included and we were not charged extra for them. I used them for a move from Chicago in 2013 to St Louis and recommended them to my mother for a move from Louisville, KY to St Louis in 2015. They were absolutely amazing on both occasions. They were prompt and communicated well ahead of time. The guys who showed up worked very hard and took very good care of our items. As far as I remember there was not a single incident with my move. The only issue was that their truck overheated about 45 minutes outside of St Louis which delayed things a bit, but the guys never missed a beat and continued well into the night to get everything in the house. For my mother's move, they again exceeded expectations. There were several things they discovered when they were loading things onto there truck as they took items out of storage. They were damaged by the group who packed everything up and moved things to storage int he first place. They were quick to point out the issues and offered ways to prevent it in future moves, but never blamed or badmouthed anyone. Not only were they extremely professional, they were quiet a bit cheaper than anyone else that we contacted for both moves. This company really is a must hire for their work ethic, friendliness and price. I hope to never move again, but if so they will be the first and only people I call. read more

I chose this company based on the Yelp reviews but they must have just had a good spurt of employees there for awhile that are now gone because my move was AWFUL. This is the the 3rd time I have used movers so I am familiar with how it should go. I had my move scheduled for 9am. I got a confirmation call the night before and they said the movers would call a 1/2 hr before they arrived. Well 8:30 rolls around the next day and I think 'maybe they just forgot the call'. 9 rolls around and nobody is there and haven't received a call. So I have to call them. The lady(Kathy I believe) who answered was very nice and apologetic and said she would get back to me ASAP. She did, which I was appreciative of so I wasn't really that upset and let it go. Two movers got there at 10am. I have a 1 bedroom apartment with standard furniture. Nothing majorly heavy(no workout equip, piano, safe, or even a desk). I had a total of 28boxes. The past two times I have moved, it has taken about 4.5-5hrs. That is with packing, loading, driving, unloading. I budgeted myself for 6hrs to be on the safe side(even though my new apt was less distance than when I moved last year). IT TOOK THEM 8 HOURS! And that was with me unwrapping all the furniture myself. Now don't get me wrong, the movers themselves(2 young guys, early 20's) were very nice and polite. My observation and past experience moving led me to believe they were just inexperienced and untrained (ie they lifted my TV stand by just the very top part and ripped the whole top off, I could have told you that would happen and I wouldn't consider myself an expert at moving furniture what so ever. And of course they won't fix or replace it-no surprise there). I believe there should have been a leader there who knew how to direct an efficient move. When I called to talk about the broken TV stand, Kathy was super nice and personable. I stated(firmly but not yelling) my concerns with the move and the stand. Then when management called me back, it was a total 180. He immediately was loud and forceful and claimed my heavy TV was what broke the stand(A for effort, but no). Usually it's employees that are rude and management that is nice, not the case here. I was appalled. Maybe he thought I was going to be yelling when he called so he was already fired up and on the defense? Who knows. Other reviews have said similar things so maybe that's just his manner. This is of course all my own opinion and my experience. I can't say I would ever use All Star again. To me, the point of hiring movers is to move in the most efficient manner and lower your own stress level. This definitely was not an efficient move. If I wanted a couple of kids who didn't know what they were doing, I would have grabbed my girlfriend's little brother and his friends. Employees need to be trained. read more

We moved 2 apartments into a condo, and had 3 guys to do it. The one in charge estimated 3-4 hours to complete it, but it took more like 8! All of our stuff made it in good condition though, including quite a bit of furniture. From what I have heard from others around here, that's not common (and is why we picked this company over the others). They did ding a couple of walls in the new place and were supposed to call us to arrange to repair it, but they never did. read more

However, they broke an expensive vase and the manager has absolutely atrocious manners. He not only misquoted the price but was not going to reimburse me for the broken vase. I think most of the positive reviews for this company are fake. I hired them based on the reviews and had quite a painful experience. Their movers are unprofessional; damaged the walls of our house during the move and even though I was promised, those damages would be fixed, it never happened. They broke an expensive piece of glass desk furniture and offered a measly dollar sum to mitigate the damage, which I refused. Once I disputed with my credit card company they were extremely rude and left threatening messages. I guess thats the reason they charge you a high surcharge if you put your payment on credit card. I would caution others to be extremely careful before using this company. They are slightly cheaper but not worth the hassle. read more

When I hired All Star, my fiancé questioned my judgement in picking this "no name" moving company. They called 24 hrs ahead to confirm. On the day of the move, they were an hour late but called ahead stating their delay. They brought 2 trucks and 5 men. They all introduced themselves and after looking over everything set immediately to work. They had my 2800 sq ft home packed and ready to roll in 2.5 hrs. despite 95F plus heat. It took an hour to drive to my home and they took 45 min to eat which they deducted off my time.. When they got to the new home, they unloaded what needed to stay at this site and then continued onto the storage facility and unloaded the rest. Total time 6 hrs. And best of all, not one thing was broken or damaged including many mid century antiques and furniture. They were very professional and courteous. At the end of the day, my fiancé decided to use them when her mother moves later this year. read more

Not only did they damage a brand-new couch and chair, when it was brought to the attention of the movers, one of the crew members became unruly and began using profanity. When I called to complain to owner Lewis, he attempted to condone their behavior. Also read the fine print on the company's liability damage policy as they will only reimburse you .66 per pound for damages. They damaged a $2000 new couch & $800 and instead of repairing the items he elected to invoke their damage reimbursement policy stipulation of .66 per pound which equated to about $150. They managed to fit 2 rooms of furniture and boxes into a storage unit that never should have held that much stuff. They are good natured and polite and show up when they say they will. Was recommended to this moving company by a number of friends. My family and I have done a number of corporate relocations so we are not new to moving. Our move experience with great until the post move. I left a message on the Saturday with the office about our doorbell being burnt out and being broken by the movers on our newly built home. The movers continually hit the bell with boxes and elbows while bringing in boxes causing it to become stuck. Which caused my husband and I to believe that All Star should fix it as it was brand new on a newly built home. On Monday, Matt, the owner phoned me back and immediately got agitated and like he was looking for a fight. Asked him to calm down and take a deep breath as I did not like how he was speaking to me and he continued to get more abusive over the phone, called me a bitch, the world was not my oyster, hung up the phone on me. I phoned back to discuss further and his abusive behavior continued. I never once yelled just disagreed with him about our claim and issue with our doorbell. My husband phoned to discuss with them about what happened and they denied and called me a liar. I had referred this company to a number of friends and our realtor but have since retracted my referral. This company lacks customer service and is abusive to it's customers if something goes wrong with your move. Research them on BBB and Angie's List! Beware!!! read more
